The lights! The sounds! It was all perfect!
Flicking her delectable mane back, the Pegasus prepared herself for the greatest tour of her life. It would all start in Canterlot, on this albeit slightly rickety, makeshift stage - then Appleloosa, Cloudsdale, Hoofington, Manehattan and all ending in Ponyville! Nopony would escape her velvet chords and stunning stage presence! This was her big break following the success of her first single, and the key to infamous stardom - her ultimate dream!
Starsong let out a heavy breath - she needed to compose herself! Nerves before a performance like this could end her career, and no way in Equestria was she becoming a one-hit-wonder. No, Starsong would become the greatest popstar pony who ever lived! Centuries from now, ponies would still be listening to her glorious melodies on their futuristic music players, dancing at galas and balls to the lovesongs she knew she would write. After all, a celebrity like her had to experiment with all forms of music.
"Starsong! You're on!" Came a voice from behind another curtain as the lights came down upon the stage. Taking her last backstage breather, the purple Pegasus trotted excitedly into the spotlight, before addressing the crowd.
""Welcome everypony! Shall we make some magic?"

Crystal hated going out to the Canterlot city streets. She was practically a magnet for dirty looks. Though she lived all the way in the far outskirts of the castle-city, Crystal still needed to go out to purchase groceries every once and a while. This had been one of those nights. She was wealthy, but she didn’t have servants. Like every other grocery night, Crystal prepared for the worst as she trotted back toward the heart of the castle-city.
Apples… check. Grass… check. Carrots…? Crystal pondered while levitating her list of required supplies. She was multitasking, telekinetically packing her acquired groceries inside her saddlebags as she checked off the items on her list with a pen.
So far she had spent a good hour wandering the late night streets of Canterlot. And to her surprise she had not been met with a single shunning pony yet. Puzzled by the realization, Crystal began to notice music echoing from the far distance in front of her. This night had certainly been unlike the past ones. The ponies had been much too distracted to care for her presence this time. It seemed there had been a concert going on.
She figured, why the hay not? All she had left to do back home was obsessively polish a rock. And besides that she was retired. Crystal Lance followed the sound of the music out of simple curiosity, leading her to the sight of the bustling crowd and the energetic pegasus atop the makeshift stage.

Apporta walked through town, enjoying the night. She heard from other ponies that there was a singer in town named Star Song, a popular pony who was making a tour of Equestria. Apporta was in the mood to hear a little music, having been a while since she last heard a singer perform live in Canterlot.
As she walked down the path towards the stage and the music, she spotted another pony, a unicorn. Well, unicorns weren't that rare in Canterlot, but nevertheless Apporta was amazed. This unicorn was older and had the look of importance and power. Was she royalty? An important mage? Apporta then thought back to her dreams of being taught by a pony to further increase her magic skills. With Celestia gone and Luna busy and incharge, her chances of being taught by an alicorn were next to nothing. Maybe... just maybe... this unicorn would be the one.
But for now she just wanted to meet this pony that in her years in Canterlot had never seen before. She bravely trotted up to the pony and said, "Hello. My name is Apporta. What is your name?"

Angel Grace wandered the streets of Canterlot. She still had no idea why she had come up here, other than to take a trip away from Ponyville. Actually, deep in her heart she knew, thought she would never admit it, even to herself. So the shy pegasus wandered through Canterlot, wondering if some guard or the other would ask her what she was doing here. Secretly, she was very rich; sometimes she would find something for somepony and get paid well, and she didn't spend very much money. She didn't like to flaunt her wealth, but she supposed she could pretend to be important if she had to...
Her thoughts were interrupted as she saw a large crowd up ahead. She had seen a few clusters of ponies here and there, but this was the largest one yet. She was about to head in another direction when she spotted a small poster. The first performance of a new musician was going to be tonight, now actually. Curiousity overcoming shyness, Angel moved closer to the crowd, wanting to see what kind of music they played.

Ranger was fortunate to have obtained tickets to this grand performance. Starsong has been the craze all throughout Equestria, and all the colts and fillies were talking about her. And who better to take with him than his new friend Trace? They have shared tender moments together after all.
There they were, stageside, "I'm so excited!" He exclaimed to her, nudging her side with an elbow, "How about you?"

Trace shot Ranger a smile, "This is definitely excitin', Sug', ah'll give you that." she said happily as she scanned the crowd. The turnout was crazy. It had been awhile since she has seen so many ponies gathered in one place, and all of them were bouncing and cheering.
Trace chuckled a little, "This Starsong filly must be really good to draw such a crowd." she looked back to Ranger, keeping her smile up. She had been surprised when he asked her to join him for this. They haven't know each other that long, after all, but... she wasn't complaining. She enjoyed his company, even if she did live under a rock, sometimes literally, to never have heard of Starsong before.

Somewhere in the front rows of the pony crowd, a rainbow-colored mane could be seen bouncing around wildly. Rainbow Dash had bought a ticket to the concert as soon as she had heard of it. She had heard Starsongs first single and it rocked. Music like that was worth it flying here all the way from Ponyville. She was actually supposed to move some clouds today, but she was going to do that later. Seriously. "Woohoo! Rock 'n Roll!" She shouted in reponse to Starsong, but her voice got lost in the screaming and hollering of hundreds, if not thousands, of other ponies.

The popstar pony couldn't help but prance a little as the power of the crowd washed over her. There was no feeling like that of performing in front of hundreds of others, their cheers and screams craving for more of her music. It was thrilling~!
Hopping up to her back legs, Starsong pumped a hoof into the air as the chorus ended, landing as the music rolled in to the next verse.
"Sometimes my head is spinnin' around, and now my life is upside-down. I can't believe this happened to me, I finally found my destiny.
Now it's time for the show to begin, and the crowds will sing;
Starsong, Starsong! Take a hoof, please come along, we'll take this party and rock it on, we'll take this city and carry on.
Starsong, Starsong! Take a bow, then hurry on, we'll take this party and rock it on, we'll take this party and rock it on!"
As her backing track continued into the next section, the Pegasus took a moment to view her audience. It was quite impressive for a first show, full of ponies from what she could only assume as being from all over Canterlot! The entire castle must have been empty! Starsong flexed her wings, fluttering just above the stage for just a moment as a need to move about took over her. No, she would not let nerves get the best of her now. All eyes were on her, and she needed to perform!
"How many times have I fallen down? How many trips and bumps on the road? But none of that matters now, it's my time to shine, so- Come on! Sing with me!
Starsong, Starsong..."
Taking a breather for a moment, she let the crowd take over - everyone in Equestria must have heard it by now, and the majority probably knew the words. For a quick second, she began to pick ponies out of the crowd. After all, she had to fill up an entire show's worth of time, but she only had one song - Starsong would need something else to kill some time. And so came forth her brilliant idea!
As soon as the song was over, she would start bringing some of her loyal fans up on stage. That would distract the crowd from the lack of music, and improve her image at the same time!

Crystal had arrived in Canterlot’s main city square with the intention to pass by unnoticed. She didn’t wish to be seen nor did she wish to be disturbed in her shopping and browsing of the streets. This being said, Crystal was honestly startled by Apporta’s response to her nearby the large crowd. She instinctually stepped her hooves back a short distance at the surprise of the young unicorn’s approach.
“That is nothing a young filly such as yourself ought to be concerned with,” she replied after calming herself, showing cold disregard towards Apporta. Crystal had first of all been shocked by the fact that the filly was not already aware of her name. Over her years of service in Equestria’s military, Crystal had certainly made an infamous name for herself around the castle-city. The young unicorn must have either held residence underneath a rock or within some city that wasn’t Canterlot. In her mind, she decided it would have been best to keep the filly out of all her trouble. But no matter how long Crystal tried to ignore her, the filly seemed to remain present around her. Crystal let out a deep sigh, finally giving up. “My name is Crystal Lance… Will that make you happy filly?”

Apporta was taken aback at how cold that pony was towards her! How would saying a simple hello illicit such a response? It was almost like Apporta had insulted her by doing so. This was certainly a first for Apporta. Maybe it was the fact that Apporta didn't know the pony's name initially. Then again she was never about how much fame another pony had, she treated all new ponies she met the same until she got to know them.
Then she heard her name... Crystal Lance. As in Crystal Lance, former head of the Equestria Army Mages. It was an honor to meet her indeed! She had a choice now. She could either walk away and not bother Crystal Lance, or she could be persistant. Then it hit Apporta: maybe the reason she had not found a mentor was just that: lack of persistance! She knew what she had to do.
"Ah, Crystal Lance! I'm sorry I didn't recognize you. It's just that up until now I have only heard stories about you rather than seeing you face to face. I must say it is an honor to meet you. You are actually one of the ponies that even as a young foal just learning magic that I looked up to. Sadly, I'm lacking a teacher right now, someone who can mentor me to become the best I can be at my abilities. I know that this may seem sudden, but would you be willing to mentor me?" She paused, unsure of what this unicorn would say. Sure it seemed abrupt, but Apporta felt it was now or never.

Angel nodded her head up and down to the beat, a small smile on her face. Though she hadn't heard the song before, she found it easy to follow. More than that, though, the lyrics spoke to her. She had spent a long time as a young filly afraid of most things, afraid to try. But here was this brand new singer, putting herself out into the world. She even made her first song about herself. Angel Grace didn't know about anypony else, but she found that to be quite inspiring.
Starsong finished her verse, encouraging the crowd to sing the chorus alongside her. Despite herself, Angel decided it couldn't hurt to try herself. She wasn't a bad singer, and she supposed if it was really terrible, somepony or the other would stop her. Finding this thought strangely encouraging, she sang along with the crowd, that big smile still pasted on her face.

Ranger began to hop around, dancing oddly though gracefully to the music, "Oh wow, she is ROCKING" He said, swinging and bobbing his head with the rhythm, "I'm having so much fun!" As he danced with the music he joined the crowd enthusiastically chanting the chorus, luckily his voice was drowned with the others, he was never a good singer.
"Trace how about you? Having a ball? This is awesome isn't it?"

Trace covered her mouth with a hoof to try and keep herself from laughing as she watched Ranger dance. She found it cute how he got so into it. Trace noticed she was staring at Ranger now and jerked her gaze away to watch Starsong, lowering her hoof and blushing lightly as she did, as the crowd joined in in singing. She really was good, she could see how she became so popular so quickly.
"Yeah!" Trace called back to Ranger, moving closer to him as she tried to be heard over the singing. "Thanks for bringin' me, Ah don't get out like this nearly as often as ah would like."

When Starsong let the crowd sing the chorus, Rainbow Dash jumped up from the masses in excitement and hovered over the other ponies' heads. If she would have taken a look around her, she would have noticed she wasn't the only pegasus who decided they needed a bit more elbow room, but looking around wasn't one of her priorities right now. With her eyes pressed shut, she sang along at the top of her voice and played an invisible electric guitar with her hooves - not that she had ever held a real one, but she was pretty sure the movements she was making would've made some pretty wicked riffs.

A warm, mellow laugh echoed through the microphone as the song ended. Oh, how she loved her entire life right now! Everything was so perfect - nopony could resist her music - she had always known her vocal talents would be her key to sucess~! Eventually, she could even reach other domains with these lyrics~!
"Come on now, Star. Calm down. One town at a time~" She breathed to herself, turquoise eyes glistening as she looked over her audience. Some of the pegasi were even in the air, they were so excited! And now it was time to put phase two into action. Starsong could only hope that the crowd would be just as eager for this as she was.
"So, is everypony doing well?" The violet pegasus called out, the microphone boosting her vocals across the crowd. She had already picked out a few faces, but she needed to introduce her audience to this idea slowly. "I'm so happy that everypony seems to be enjoying my song so much! You ponies are the absolute best and none of this could have been done without you! She continued, trying to resist the urge to prance about onstage from all the adrenaline as the crowd began to cheer. "And to say thank you, I'd like just a few ponies to come up on stage with me and let's make some magic!
