Morrow Rose looked up from her coffee as she heard the characteristic sound of an opening saloon door, the very same she did produce herself not too much earlier.
She was aware of it that in a public place like this eventually ponies would gather, why, it is the most natural thing to happen - and if they were to be like Starburst and ignore her shortcommings...
A slight touch of worry mixed into her content feelings that somepony else joined the chat, perhaps. The more the merrier.
The Earth pony who sat down next to her looked quite like a long term resident to Appleloosa, the way how somepony would imagine a real Western pony. That might provide to be interesting, she thought to herself. At least he could tell the one or other thing about the town that I don't know.
As he greeted her, she was about to reply in the same way, automatically, but got unsure then if a mare was to use a nod like that and resorted to a honest smile and a friendly "Hi", like she knew it from Manehattan.
"It sure still is", she then replied to the Earth pony's request, "from what I do know. And you are not intruding, no worries."
Now she was quite curious how she was to get along with an real Appleloosan, given he actually was one. She already knew quite some ponies in town, by address and deliveries, but still had to tie some closer contacts. And she was eager to do so.

Having never met the pony who had just entered into The Salt block, Starburst decides she would have a little fun with this one.
"Howdy there stranger, 'course it is! Sit yer'self down for a spell and whet your whistle! What can I get fer ya?" Starburst grinned, mimicking the Appleloosan accent quite well, having heard it most days as the saloonkeeper.
"We've got Apple cakes, apple candy, apple pies, apple fritters, apple juice, apple cider, caramel apples, applesauce, and apple fries! Pick yer' pleasure friend!"

"Well friend, I bought this here buildin' from somepony 'bout three years ago, hollered' out the inside, and been servin' everypony tasty treats since then, it does get a might lonely 'round these parts though, when I make enough money, I plan on buildin' one of these here saloons in every town in Equestria." Starburst says.
She pulled a bottle out of the icebox, held it in her wing, and popped the cap off with a bottle opener, held inside her mouth. She placed the bottle on a silver saucer, and nosed a cup of straws over to the newpony.
"Bottom's up friend, Fresh squeezed and bottled by yours truly, Ain't gonna be cold all day, y'hear?"

Morrow Rose listened interested to the conversation, realizing, that while it was just a kind of accent, sometimes she had to think twice before she understood what was just said.
Form that then her thoughts kinda drifted away.
Oh, so she is here for three years, now that explains why a Cloudsdale-pony - she is from there, right? She mentioned the place at least - could speak like that, she thought to herself, just to add, "I sure wonder if I get the accent up that good eventually, too."
Out of sudden she felt a shudder run along her withers and back, and heat shooting into her face, making her blush.
"I- I just said that out loud? N- nevermind me!" The delivery Pegasus gave the other Pegasus on the Earth pony her most innocent smile. "Now, I better get at my coffee again, ... ain't gonna be hot all day, y'hear?"
She took a long sip of the brew, just to prove her statement and hoped the other ponies would just overlook and forget that moment.

"That's a might generous of you pardner. Thank ya' kindly." Starburst said as she stowed the coins inside a box behind the countertop.
Starburst used the lul in conversation to continue polishing the countertop to a mirror shine. She also took the opportunity to revert back to her Non-Appleloosan accent. "If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to ask." she said, with a rather ladylike accent.

"Thanks, Ms Starburst, but I think I'm fine", Morrow Rose repeated with her most appreciating smile. For once appreciating the service and the good coffee, on the other hoof she was just glad to be able to change the subject. "How much do I owe you, by the way? I sure don't want to start my time here with a debt, so I better settle it right now."
Great start, she thought to herself, with a soundless sigh, if it weren't for those two ponies here being that understanding and relaxed you'd have made yourself look like you fell off a cloud head first.
Slowly finishing her coffee, she risked one or another look at the new pony in the saloon, still not sure what to think of him. He could be a famous Western pony and she'd miss it, right in front of her hooves. Again she regretted it in thoughts that she just hadn't found the time yet to get to know anypony better, other than knowing a great deal of addresses and what they ordered.
Considering her words carefully before she spoke up again, she eventually turned to the Earth pony, "I sure hope I am not intruding now, Sir - I just thought after that bumpy introduction right there, I'd give it another try."
Putting on what she thought was her most sophisticated and kind smile, she continued, "I'm Morrow Rose, the new delivery pony in town. Milk, eggs, the news, whatever you need. Unfortunate I am up since before sunrise and rarely get even a glimpse on anypony else in town."
I guess that sounds almost as bumpy as before, she thought, awaiting a reaction, but I just have to start somewhere to get to know some ponies in this town and they sure as hay will not look for a stranger as me to contact me first.

Apple Cider stood in front of the saloon, looking up at the sign. "Starbucks? I thought this was the Salt Block before. Must've changed owners, an names. Things keep changin around here. Well I guess I better have a look an see what they've done to tha place."
She walked through the doors and was surprised by the new appearance. "Now wait an apple pickin minute. This ain't like the place I remember'd. Where are the saddle shaped barstools? Where's the hay strewn 'bout the floor. Where's the giant keg filled with cider where they put a pony under and make them drink until they pass out?"
The one thing she was reall surprised was how clean the new saloon looked. "Guess I'll hafta follow the rules then," Apple Cider said as she wiped her hooves on the mat outside. She then walked up to the bar, noticing the pegasus. Was she the new owner or just the new bartender? Only one way to find out...

"A bit should cover it, since I haven't paid you for the delivery yet." Starburst replied, picking up the newspaper from the basket and spreading it out on the counter.
Starburst sat down on a stool behind the counter and read it while her customers talked amongst themselves.
Moments later she heard the ding of the saloon doors opening and the scruff of a Mare's hooves on her welcome mat, cleverly placed to get everypony coming into the Saloon to wipe their hooves before entering.
Upon hearing the bell, Starburst looked up from behind the counter at the newcomer and said, "Welcome to Starbucks. I'm Starburst, is there anything I can get for you this morning? We've got Apple cakes, apple candy, apple pies, apple fritters, apple juice, apple cider, caramel apples, applesauce, and apple fries." After inhaling slightly, she motioned a hoof over to the glass case containing all her fresh pastries and candies.

"I like what you've done to the place. I reckon your the new manager," Apple Cider said removing her hat, "The name's Apple Cider, but you can call me AC if you fancy. Most folks who know me like callin me that. " She then stopped and realized something, "And now I've been ramblin' to you when you have all these customers. A thousand pardons. I'll have some of that cider you got there."

Morrow Rose was listening fascinated to the Earth Pony telling her about his life and yes, a bit about the town and its people. That goes better than I thought, she realized, the ponies here sure are pretty kind and friendly. I think I'll fit in nicely, accent or not.
"So you appreciate the morning, too. Nice", she said, "It's just the time of the day I have all the energy. Later then I'm in the shop, but there's not much happening since everypony got their orders early already."
As Sterling looked up to the new pony in the saloon, the Pegasus used the moment and took a bit coin from her purse, between her teeth, placing it on the counter.
Turning back to her conversation partner, she picked up what he said last, "Bisons? I heard so much about them, like, they sure like pie, but haven't met one yet.

Starbucks reached below into the icebox and removed a cold mug from it with her mouth, uncapped a bottle with a bottle opener by holding the bottle under her wing, and poured it into the glass.
She placed a hoof to the side of the glass and slid it down to an empty bar-stool for the newcomer. "It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Cider."
"Would you like anything else with your Cider, perhaps a turnover, an apple fritter or some apple fries?"

"No thanks, sugah," she said, 'the cider'll do fine for me in the morning." She took a sip and seemed to think about something. "Yep, just as I suspected," she said to herself before turning back to the bar tender, "I appreciate the cider miss Starburst, and I especially appreciate that you're stockin' Sweet Nectar Cider, 'cause that's where I make a livin'. Have ya tried yet our new product, Green Apple Tart Cider, yet?"

About at that time Morrow Rose realized that her conversation partner has left somewhere between her paying for her coffee, finishing that delicious brew and her talking about Bisons - and how she never met one of them yet.
There he goes, but, hey, I'm meeting new ponies, that sure is a good day so far. The pegasus felt pretty content and relaxed now, her wings folded neatly along her sides.
Her pet bird, Singasong, twittered a melody now and then, eventually to fly up and land, sitting on her back, just to climb back on morrow's newspony-hat again and look on the other ponies from up there.
The Pegasus chuckled softly at the antics of her pet, just to catch the last words spoken by the Earth pony nearby then, "Green Apple Tart Cider? That sounds pretty good."

Starburst answered the question quite abruptly. "Green Apple Tart sounds like it would be something made out of Granny Smith apples. Do you have a sample of it? I need to know exactly how my customers will react to it."
