Trixie viewed her potential options. Either she could begin training and memorizing spells from the books that Watermark had given her, or she could go out on assignments from Red Charge. Deciding that she could begin her training later, she went out of her hut to go find Red. She walked outside and went to the nearest pony, tapping them on the shoulder. "Um, could you please show me to where Red Charge is?", She said with a light smile.

The pony turned around and gave her a short nod, before taking her over to the bottom of the pyramid, where Red Charge was speaking to the foreman.
"Ah, Trixie, yes, Watermark told me you'd be coming for your first assignment." The stallion said with a kind smile. "Well, I do have a research assignment for you, in fact. I need you to go over to Everfree forest and grab some samples of Poison Joke." The armored horse instructed.
"Make sure to get enough, experimenting with reagents can use up a lot of them, and you don't want to have to go back!" Red Charge advised, before changing the subject.
"So how are you doing, Trixie? Is everything alright, is there anything you need? I know it's a big change to suddenly live here with us. But I'd like to make it as easy as I can on you." The foreman in the meanwhile had left, yelling at several ponies to hasten construction on some sort of stone platform.
Red Charge sat patiently in front of Trixie, obviously giving her his full attention, his silvery armor, for some reason seemed completely untainted by mud or grime. It was a wonder how he managed it.

"Oh, nono, I'm quite fine, thank you." She said with a smile to Red. "I have everything I need. Food, shelter, company, supplies, you seem to have covered everything in this little complex, so im guessing it will be a permanent residence."
Her attitude and tone had improved greatly since meeting these ponies, she was less boastful and confrontational, but still somewhat self-important, as that's just the way she is.
"Getting used to the newer surroundings will take some time, though, as I've mostly lived in towns and whatnot, but it's nothing Trixie cannot handle."
Her smile turned back into a frown, "This Poison Joke plant you want me to get... What is it?" The prefix of 'poison' on there didn't sound very good, as touching or collecting poison of any kind didn't really end well. But she hadn't a clue what the joke part meant, and she still had no idea how to find it, or even handle it safely.

"Poison Joke is a plant that grows out in the Everfree forest. It has very random effects depending on the pony exposed to it. However," The stallion's smile widened, "I would like you to research it, and see if you can create a concoction that produces specific desired effects out of it. Such as causing Pegasi to be out of balance, or rendering a unicorn's magic useless..."
The powerful figure of the cult leader stood firm in posture, as it began to talk once more, this time with much more emphasis to his words, "I usually would not like to resort to such things. However, if we can disable our enemies using such a concoction, I think we might be able to drastically reduce the number of casualties, if a struggle does break out." He looked her straight in the eye, and an absolute sense of sincerity emanated from him.
It was as though every word spoken was like the beat of a large drum, the vibrations pulling on Trixie's very heartstrings, lulling her to a sense of complete compliance. It seemed as though no truer words have been spoken, and no more just a cause has ever existed. And to think he was entrusting her with such an obviously important task.
"I know it must seem early for you to start doing these things on your own, but when you get back, Watermark will be here to help you, he is well versed in the art of alchemy." Red Charge said softly, "Remember Trixie, even though you leave her by yourself, you are never truly alone." With that he handed her a small crystal, seemingly filled with water.
"If you ever get in trouble, break this crystal." He said simply, still gazing into her eyes.

She mentally wrote down the points as Red named them off. But she visibly shivered at the sound of Everfree Forest. She had to go in there. Alone. And get this obscure plant that, as Red had said, might render her magic useless, as if her current magic would be of any help.
She liked the fact that Red was taking such a pacifistic approach to violence. Even though Trixie had no idea if they would be in any battles anytime soon, but she tried not to think about it.
She took the small crystal and put it on an inside pocket of her mage's robe, and would follow Red's instructions if need be.
"I shall get to work at once." She said to Red with determination in her tone. She walked off, back to her hut, and got a pair of large saddlebags, remembering Red's instruction to get a lot of the plant. Only then did she realize she was missing a vital piece of information. She ran back to Red, who was still at the pyramid. "Ah... Is it safe to touch the Poison Joke?"

"Oh, no, my dear, simple exposure to the plant will bring you under whatever effect it has. Not immediately, mind you, but during the next day, the symptoms should appear. In fact..." The stallion was quickly approached by one of Watermark's water helpers, which handed him a book. How odd, could Red Charge and Watermark communicate? Or was that little creature just meant to give Trixie the book and couldn't find her?
"Supernatural: Natural Remedies and Cure-alls That Are Simply Super." Red Charge recited, "It has a very lengthy section about Poison Joke, including how to cure it. Take it with you, it should help you identify and deal with the plant." The large stallion offered, smiling softly at Trixie. "Are you sure you are alright, dear?" He asked once more, "Would you like for me to send someone with you?"
The stallion took in a breath of the swamp air, Trixie, she had strong will and much potential. But she had something beyond that. Something that only he and one more pony in Equestria could remember. He suspected she might be aware of it herself, not entirely, but perhaps in fragments. She will be needed eventually, and best to be the one on her good side when it happens.

She graciously accepted the book from Red with a smile, and was surprised at how heavy it was, having to quickly put it in her saddlebags or else lose her balance.
Her ears perked up at Red's offer to send somepony with her. She liked having somepony else around, most of the time, to either gloat to or just for company. And all alone in Everfree she thought it best to have at least some company, because if she needed help it would be a long way away. She did take note of the crystal still in her pocket, but she remembered Red's instruction to use it only in emergency, and she didn't want to go wasting it on her first assignment, as it must be valuable and possibly irreplaceable.
"Oh, yes." She said with a sigh. "That would be much better if I had somepony to accompany me." "Who would it be, though?"

Red Charge smiled, "I think old Percheron hasn't had a chance to stretch his wings in a while!" He laughed, as the water creature next to Trixie sped off, and just a few short moments later the Pegasus in question arrived, was he summoned by that water creature?
"Percheron, I would like you to escort Trixie here into the Everfree forest, and help her collect some Poison Joke, I don't think you need any further briefing on the forest, do you?" The armored stallion asked the Pegasus.

As the Pegasus landed on the ground softly, despite his rapid descent, he nodded at Red Charge. "Understood, also, could you have Watermark, please stop having his weird little water creatures around me all the time? It's startling to have one start talking to me out of nowhere."
So Watermark could actually communicate through the water-golems, which would explain how he knew to bring her the book, or how Percheron got there as quickly as he did. However, it also revealed a startling dimension to the grinning unicorn. His creatures were spread throughout the entire camp, not a word could be said without him being able to hear it.
Percheron, was obviously against it, "Hello once more, Trixie," He turned to the mare, giving her a slight nod to the head.

For some reason or another, she knew it would be Percheron. Red was obviously busy with running an entire cult, and Watermark was deciphering that tablet or whatever he had, and everypony else seemed to be training or building, so process of elimination said Percheron. She smiled warmly at him s he landed, thinking that having him tag along would let her get to know him better, as right now he was still quite a mystery.
Trixie also made a mental note to find a way to golem-proof her little bunkhouse, as sometimes she talked to herself, and didn't really want anypony, let alone Watermark, hear her.
"Nice to see you again, Percheron." She gave him a smile. "I see Red has told you all you need to know, so, shall we?" She gestured out to the trees and brush of the swamp in the direction she at least thought was Everfree.

Red Charge bid them both good luck, and turned away, walking off to take care of the business at hand. He trusted Percheron with Trixie, Percheron was the most inspiring of his lieutenants. Watermark was inspiring in his own unique, and sometimes terrifying way, and Vorpal was not a pony for words, but Percheron was definitely the one best to remove any fears or doubts from Trixie's mind about belonging to the cult.
Content that neither of them would fail him, he went off to his business, hoping to hear word of them again soon.

"Yes, let's get going," He said, "But," He chuckled heartily, "Everfree is that way, see?" He pointed a hoof around a quarter of a circle from where Trixie was pointing. He smiled pleasantly at her, and led her on their way. He could understand why Red Charge thought it would be prudent to send him with Trixie, she was new, and Everfree was especially dangerous now. Red Charge didn't seem to be worried, but if Trixie was, it was a wise call sending someone with her. Percheron didn't know Trixie very well, but at least he was a familiar face, better send him than someone she hasn't met before. Leading her out to Everfree, the stallion kept quiet for a bit, figuring he'd let her initiate conversation once they were there. Watermark has been waiting too long for the stallion and the mare, standing at the entrance to the camp, two cauldrons with green liquid besides him. He had been waiting longer than expected, wasting valuable time where he could be oh, deciphering the very, very, very important tablet but no. He had to wait at the entrance to camp in case Trixie or Percheron managed to trip and fall into Poison Joke. The tattooed unicorn sighed to himself, then giggled, wondering what Trixie would look like with a floppy horn. Then full out bursting in laughter as he saw the two approach, startling a nearby construction worker. "Well, well, what do we have here, Perch? My, my he does it again." Watermark wiggled his eyebrows at the duo. "You know, he was with Princess Celestia, that stud Perch."He laughed, "Well judging by those huge ugly zits on your face, I'd say you two were in for quite the ride!"

"Quite the ride. That's putting it mildly" Trixie looked up at Watermark, clearly not amused. She grumbled at him, still hanging on to Percheron so he wouldn't fall over.
"We got the poison joke.." She unstrapped the saddlebags on Percheron and pushed them off, landing on the ground with a soft thud.
Trixie didn't care for what Watermark said. She just figured he was trying to mess with her or something. She just wanted Percheron to be safe, her face fixed, and to take a nice long bath. Three things, not too much to ask for seeing as it had been almost 16 hours since they left and after what they had been through.
She then turned her attention to the two bubbling cauldrons of green liquid. "What. Is that?" She questioned Watermark, almost afraid to ask.

"Watermark, your face, it needs to shut up." Percheron said, he was a clumsy mess, though not nearly as exhausted as Trixie was, he was very irritated and had no energy for the unicorn's games.
He sighed in frustration, one eye on the green liquid, wondering if that was what he thought it was.
