Watermark chuckled, lifting the saddlebags with his magic, while throwing the green liquid straight in Trixie and Percheron's faces playfully, instantly healing the effects of the poison joke. The unicorn giggled as he examined the contents of the bag.
"Yes, good amount here and ... what's this? A web... that blue... You brought me a Blue Joker web?!" His eyes widened. "You're ANGELS." he said, quickly drying off both of them, before grinning widely at the two. "Oh please come with! Come with!" He called, turning back and trotting away.

Trixie patted around her face, ensuring that the zits were gone. She couldn't bear to have her impeccable facade damaged with such abominations.
She wanted to thank Watermark for making this antidote for them, but before she could, he was off, urging them to follow. She looked over at Percheron and nodded, and the both of them walked after him.
"You know what the giant spider we ran into is?" Trixie asked, figuring that as per Watermark it was called a Blue Joker. Fitting, as it was covered with the plant and was blue. "Also, you're welcome for the web, I guess. I don't know what you can use it for, though."

"If I know him, he knew all along that thing was going to be hiding in that field." Percheron chuckled, "Probably didn't say anything hoping we'd stumble into it and bring him that web." He said, flexing out his hooves and relieved to finally walk steadily again on them.
All in all it wasn't such a terrible trip, he got to fight, he hasn't fought in so long beyond training, it was re-energizing. The mission was successful and they even managed to go a step beyond.
He was glad that they were both cured of the effects, how Watermark knew to prepare an antidote was beyond him, but he was grateful nonetheless. Besides, Trixie's zits were very unappealing to look at.
However, that cloud spell was very useful, he'd have a chat with Watermark on that later on.

"Pashuh, me? You think I am capable of such a high degree of manipulation?" Watermark laughed, "Why Percheron, you overestimate me sometimes." The unicorn's laugh was different yet again, something dodgy about it this time, as well as the inflections of his voice. It wasn't at all apparent how Watermark could literally alter his presence in a moment's notice, but it was unsettling.
"Here," He said, leading them to the Red Mages' compound, but this time to a larger hut, where groups of cauldrons were placed on small fires, some lit with fluid bubbling, and some unlit. He led Trixie to one of the unlit cauldrons, and pulled out some books from a shelf, potion making books, amazing.
"This here has all the information you need to isolate effects, ingredients and other magical properties of the plant." He also pointed at an alchemy kit, including a mortar, pestle, alembic, and some other purifying device which seemed quite complex, as well as several distillers.
"This is potion training area, every good mage needs to know how to brew their own potions! And this looks like a fun practice. And Perchie boy... Red Charge has decided that you've been overworking the barons, so they got the day off... but YOU, get to be my assistant for today. I don't know, I guess he thought it would be funny. But I've got nothing to do with you, so you're going to help Trixie." As Percheron was about to open his mouth to argue, the unicorn leaped at him and snapped it shut, "Uh uh! Red Charge's orders!" At that, the unicorn simply took his leave, content to leave his rival steaming.

Trixie audibly groaned. "We have to do all the research OURSELVES? I just want to lay in bed for a bit." She made fake drowsy eyes and yawned, but the yawn wasn't fake. She had quite the adventure and needed some good rest before she could do much else.
But if it was under Red's orders that she had to do this research, she wasn't about to disappoint him.
She scanned through the index of one of the books, looking for 'Poison Joke'. Soon enough she found purchase and flipped to a page featuring extensive diagrams, molecular structures, entire paragraphs on each section of the plant, the works.
All she had to do now was have Percheron help her find anything new, make any kind of discovery on how to make somewhat of a 'Poison Joke serum' which had the effects of the plant that was concentrated, easy to transport, easy to manufacture, and have specific desired effects.
Trixie was no botanist, or chemist, but she knew enough about basic science to extract substances and use them for testing. "Alright... Let the games begin."

"Please tell me I'm not the test subject... please Trixie..." Percheron lowered his head in resignation, overworking the barons? They needed the extra training to be able to defeat the stars. Their formations had to be precise, no, they had to be perfect. One mess up, and Red Lightning would fail, and they would have to use a different strategy.
The winged stallion sat down patiently next to Trixie as she studied and worked, and did not utter a word until she spoke, "Games?" He asked, now looking very unsure as to what his fate would be as her assistant.

"Well, as of right now I have no idea what we are even trying to extract. All I do know is that its what makes the 'joke' effects."
She put on some gloves and used her telekinesis to raise one blue plant out of the saddlebag and put it on the table. She then carefully stripped it of its excess leaves and material, then pulled it apart, unfolding te petals as she did so, looking for any kind of system that excretes the poison onto the petals.
She stopped working and turned to Percheron. "Do you have any background in science or chemistry?"

"Nope, why would I have? The only science I know anything about is weather science, and I don't think that means anything here." Percheron shrugged, he felt a bit useless this way. He wanted to help Trixie but couldn't.
Watermark obviously planned this to embarrass him. Oh he'd get back at the unicorn yet, the question was only when and how. It drove him crazy to be of no help, but Red Charge ordered, so he had to endure quietly, even if he pouted unintentionally.

Trixie sighed. Percheron would be of little help here, but she enjoyed his company.
Trixie gently stacked up the petals and ground them into a paste with the mortar and pestle, then mixed it with water to make a not-so-charming looking goop. "This is highly un-purified, but its the basic thing we want..."
She turned to Percheron. "I'm sorry to say, but you will have to be my test subject.. Do we have any of that antidote that Watermark made on hoof?" She looked around for another bubbling green cauldron.

Percheron's ears drooped, why that cunning tattoo bearing ... not capable of such a high degree of manipulation eh? The stallion swore to himself, to pay him back if it was the last thing he did.
"There's still those cauldrons at the entrance to camp, I can go get them if you want." Percheron said, but before he even managed to turn to the exit, a group of water golems had already rushed inside with the cauldrons, placing them near the two.
"I'll get you for this yet." The Pegasus whispered to one of the water golems, which did not seem to pay any attention to the threat. As the water golems rushed out again, the winged stallion lost his patience and smashed one with his hoof, a leaving only a moist stain on the wooden floor. Before it popped back up into a water golem, shook its tiny fist at Percheron and left the hut as well.

Trixie was still hard at work creating some more of the joke serum, and she was setting up multiple vials quickly on a rack aswell. "Oh, that would be great if you could get them!" She said happily, not turning around to look yet.
She then heard the loud thump of Percheron's hoof on the floor and she turned around "Oh, that was quick! Thank you!" She gave Percheron a friendly smile as she dabbed some of the liquid from the first and second vials onto separate cloths.
"From what I read in the books, Poison joke has multiple molecules in its poison, each of which has a unique effect, and certain molecules are activated when they come into contact with a creature, depending on the creature." She continued, apparently having garnered much information in that small amount of time. "All we have to do is try each molecule," She gestured to multiple vials she had set up, each labeled differently.
"I have separated each unique molecule and put them in separate solutions. We just have to use good old trial and error until we find, what did Red want? Imbalance for pegasi and a magic dampener for unicorns?" She shrugged.
"Can't hurt to label them all, I suppose. Don't worry, Percheron, this won't take long, and we need a unicorn, so I might as well help too."

Percheron grumbled, sitting put in place, and waiting for Trixie to try her serum on him. He had next to no idea what she was talking about, and said "But I just want to say, if I start growing more appendages than I should have, I'm quitting!"
His thoughts wandered once more to the sneaky Red Mage, but he calmed himself down, after all, he would have many chances to repay the favor yet, and oh how glad he would be to do so, so very glad.

Trixie looked at him awkwardly. "I... Don't think that's one of the effects. It wouldn't be very funny for anyone..." She Grabbed a small spray bottle and spritzed herself a few times on her back and face, and then handed it to Percheron. "This will speed up the poison joke reaction so we won't have to wait overnight for effects to take hold."
Trixie gingery lifted the first vial off of the rack and dabbed two cloths with it. "We both have to try the same solution, since you're a pegasi and I'm a unicorn it might be different for you and me, but that should only happen with the magic dampening, as you don't use magic, and the imbalance, because I don't have wings. In that case it will only effect the unique kind."
She handed Percheron one of the cloths. "Here.. Just sorta rub it all over you, that should work." Trixie worked systematically, spreading the solution along her back, legs, neck, and head. "Now we just have to wait a minute or two."

Percheron did as he was told, rubbing the serum over whatever body parts he could reach after spraying himself, "So now what?" He asked after several minutes, when suddenly his expression changed, very unhealthy looking purple spots began popping all over his body, and he started itching, "This doesn't feel like being out of balance." He stated, scratching his neck fiercly with a hoof.
Trixie on the other hand, began involuntarily tap dancing on the floor with her hooves, and hey, that poison joke was not bad at all at tap dancing. It even had a certain rhythm to it, something light, more akin to river dancing than anything. Obviously this was not the effects Trixie was looking for, but wow, did it itch!

"Well. This is interesting.." Trixie said as the poison joke had her stand up on her hind legs, cross her forelegs, and begin a russian style dance.
"Okay... I guess we can mark this one off." Trixie tapped her way over to the cauldron of antidote and jumped in with a splash. She stopped dancing instantly and let out a sigh of relief. "That was fun, but I'm more for magic, not dancing."
She beckoned for Percheron to jump in aswell, as those itchy spots must be very uncomfortable. "Enjoy the minor effects, Perch, we have many more versions to test with."
Without even noticing, the nickname 'Perch' had slipped out of her mouth. Trixie went to correct herself but stopped before she could, gambling that Percheron hadn't noticed it.
