With a flourish, Dusk flipped his hat back on his head. "Great." He replied as he unlocked the door. Inside, the place was a mess. However, it seemed to be more of a result of the battle throwing things, and then someone looking through a few things before leaving. There was a layer of dirt and dust on everything as well, partly due to the battle, another part due to no one cleaning the place in several weeks.
"Well, this will take a bit of cleaning up." Dusk quickly scanned the room, and noticed a faint set of prints, looking like they belonged to a pony. He didn't focus on them long however, he figured it was something he could worry about later, and soon made his way to the kitchen. Which was in slightly better condition than the entryway.
Despite the mess, he was able to find some functioning, if slightly damaged tea cups as well as his tea kettle, which was in much better condition. He filled the kettle with water, and put it on the still functioning stove. One satisfied nod later, and he returned to the entryway to continue conversing with his guest.

Glide looked about the room seemingly disgruntled by the mess she found herself in. She was never one much for messes, however she could excuse it this time seeing as how it wasn't his fault. It's not like he had time to tidy up after his home town was attacked by a horde of diamond dogs. Those Dang dogs sure knew how to trash a place though, she give them that, even if they weren't directly involved in trashing that specific room. She was still going to blame them. She scanned the room and noticed the hoof prints much like Dusk, though she put a little more concern and thought into them. She took a further step in to inspect the hoof prints without disturbing them. "Are these your prints Dusk? I thought you said you hadn't been back since the evacuation?" She asked, just to confirm that somepony else had been here.
She gave him a look of concern when he returned with damaged tea cups as if he was more concerned about less important things. If she were in his hooves, she would be much more focused on the intrusion of his home rather than damaged tea cups and functioning kettles. Geez, this pony sure had a thing for hot brewed beverages. "Perhaps we should look around a little closer and make sure nothing important is missing?" She suggested before adding "while we wait for the tea to brew.."

"Ah. You noticed them too huh?" He looked at the prints as he asked. "Someone has been here. And from the look of it, it was in the last couple days." Squinting his eyes slightly in suspicion, he stared at the prints. Wondering what it was this pony had been looking for. "It looks like they knew what they were after. Which means they might've know where to look. But what were they after?" He muttered under his breath, hoping Glide wouldn't hear it.
At her question he turned to look at her. "Maybe we should. Maybe we should. Could you look in here? I'll go search the bedroom." Without even waiting for an answer, he hurried over to his room. Upon opening the door, he saw that it was in comparable conditions to that of the living room. Things scattered about as a result of the battle damage.
A quick search revealed that whoever had broken in, never made it to his room. With a relieved sigh, he turned and walked back towards the living room where Glide was searching. He was glad that no one had searched his room. It's where he kept some of the more sensitive information on his jobs. "Nothing missing from there."

She took note of his seemingly hurried tone about wanting to check on his room and logged that away for the time being in the back of her mind. She stood up and began to inspect the prints scattered about the room starting from the doorway. She followed them around the room with her nose to the ground much like a hound dog sniffing out something. She followed them to each place they stopped, this pony was obviously looking for something in a hurry because each spot she stopped things were more thrown about than the rest of Dusks belongings were. She had no idea what would or wouldn't be missing since she didn't live here or own any of these things, so she was mostly looking for a cracked safe or obvious bare spots.
When he returned she was still following the tracks to what appeared to be the third spot the intruder had stopped to search. This spot seemed a bit more... open... then the rest of the spots. "Dusk you may want to come and take a look over here, I think something might be gone from here." she was genuinely not sure since she didn't have a mental inventory of his belongings. She wanted to check with him and make sure there wasn't something that wasn't in its... general area...

Wondering what she might have found, or rather, not found, Dusk hurried over to where Glide was. The spot she was pointing out did seem to be missing something, and he remembered there was something there when he left. However, he couldn't seem to remember what it was.
"I know I left something there before I left. No idea what it was though." He continued to stare at the spot, his brow furrowed in frustration. If only he could remember what it was. It would give him an idea as to why the pony was here. But, that was something he could deal with later. For now, he had a guest.
"Well, it's gone now, and it seems to be the only thing that was taken," he said with a half-hearted smile. He patted Glide on the shoulder, "good find. Now, I think the tea should be just about ready." And with that, he turned and made his way into the kitchen.
