Diamond closed the door to her room after Quillson exited and made sure to lock it. Putting the key away in a pocket on her quiver, she turned and walked over to the Stallion's room. She found it a little funny he wanted to put away his stuff to relieve himself of the weight, while she would never go out without her arrows. Doing so just made her feel... vulnerable, and she didn't like that, not one bit. 'But I guess that's the difference in upbringings.' she shrugged at the thought.
She peaked her head into the doorway of her rather messy neighbour 's room. The white pony put his bag on his bed and turned back towards her. She smiled, "Fantastic! Let's get some while the getting's good." she back further into the hall to give the colt room to exit and close up, and continued to walk backward a few more feet down the hall so he would have to catch up with her.

Closing the door behind himself, making sure to hear the faint click of the lock, Quillson turned back down the hall to follow Diamond. And there, he found her walking backwards towards the stairs. She had already made it pretty far down the hall, so Quill trotted up to a quick pace in order to catch up to her.
He was about to warn her about the upcoming stairs, when she spun back around. He slowed his pace as he reached her side, maintaining her speed. "So, do you mind if I ask how your trip to Hoofington was? Was it an eventful walk?" Quill made his way slowly down the steps, glancing back over his shoulder towards Diamond a she spoke.

Diamond pranced down the steps slowly behind Quillson, her eyes down to watch her hooves cross over the steps, seeming to take her time despite it being her idea to find food. She looked up from the stairs at her new friend's question. She gave an awkward shrug and returned her attention to the steps.
"Not really. Canterlot to Ponyville is quite a short way and I didn't say in the town for long before continuing, which was a mistake in hindsight, because I learned that I am bad at planning trips. I ended up making the trip from Ponyville to Hoofington in the middle of the night, which is why I arrived so early in the morning. Aestella's was the first light I saw after coming into town, so I headed there first and things got more eventful after that. But you where there so, no point in telling you that bit."
By the time she finished talking, they were not only down stairs by in the entrance way to the Inn's dining hall. Diamond looked around at the small room. There were a few tables set up and even fewer ponies dotted around. At one end was a decent sided table with a variety of breakfast foods.
Diamond continued ahead of Quillson once more, calling back to him, "Get some food! I'll get us a table!"

Quill managed to reach the bottom of the steps a while before Diamond (surprisingly enough). He looked up at her while she spoke, noting her careful decent to the main lobby. Once she reached his side, Quillson followed alongside her over to the Inn's dining hall. The doors already held open, he could easily see and smell the various foods across the way.
As Diamond trotted ahead stating back her request to Quill, he nodded and smiled. He watched her make her way over towards a table before turning back to where the food was being kept. As he walked alongside the table clothed, food laden piece of furniture, Quillson ran through the past couple hours through his head. Picking up a few plates and setting them onto a tray, which eventually made its way onto his back, Quillson did his best to keep the food's balance.
He picked a few various items, ranging from waffles with various toppings to breakfast rolls. He made sure to grab a few blueberry muffins as well, remembering Diamond's earlier comment. He found himself trying to choose what he thought would please her most... which made sense. That's what friends did anyway.
Confident in their breakfast amounts and types, Quill turned back with the tray to find Diamond and their table. Upon seeing her, Quillson steadily made his way back towards the Unicorn.

Finding a table was relatively easy, there were a lot of empties. Diamond looked around at all the empty seats, debating with herself where she felt like sitting. After a moment of wandering through the tables (there really weren't that many), and a few odd glances, she finally claimed a table by a window. Once settled in she looked to see how Quillson was fairing with the food, letting out a chuckle as she saw him trying to balance the plates. She thought about helping him with her magic, but decided against it, not wanting to rob him of his moment. So, with a smirk, she busied herself by looking out the window. It looked like the snowfall was thinning, and probably meant it was going to stop soon.

After navigating his way through the maze of small set tables, Quillson reached the edge of his and Diamond Point's. The pony was looking outside at the snow, but Quill needed to make sure that the food made it safely onto their table before taking a look for himself.
He grabbed each plate one at a time, setting them down neatly in front of Diamond. "I hope these are what you wanted. I grabbed what I thought would be best, but I can always get more." He smiled at her before sitting down across the table from her.
Quillson continued to smile at the filly, waiting for her to take a pick of the food before them, before he grabbed any for himself.

Diamond turned away from the window as Quillson placed the food onto the table. "Oh wow, you got a lot. I'm sure this will be more then enough. I'm not a very big eater. Comes with just sitting around all day staring at the distance. Ooh, a muffin!" she grinned and immediately slid the blueberry muffin close to herself.
She took a few cheery bites of her pastry and smiled across the table to see what Quillion decided on. Again she found herself wondering why he grabbed so much. She doubted that she could eat it all. 'Maybe he's just really hungry. No, he said he wasn't. I wonder if we're allowed to put stuff back, will they get mad?' she quietly pondered as she chewed on her fluffy, blueberry goodness.

Looks like the muffins were definitely a hit. So he'd made the right choice, good. Then again, he's chosen a lot... Glancing around at all the plates he'd grabbed, Quill started to have second thoughts over his actual level of hunger. He probably should have thought that through a little more.
He decided upon a type of waffle meal, sliding it before himself. There was some sort of leaf substance laced across the top, and he began to munch his way through. By the time he had finished it, Quill's stomach was already starting to fill up.
Once he'd finished chewing, he looked back up at Diamond. "Okay. Maybe I... grabbed a bit too much. What do you say we do with the rest of this?" That was assuming the Unicorn sitting across from him was actually done eating. Maybe Diamond was unnaturally hungry this morning. Oh who was he kidding, Quill just wasted goodness knows how much food on their table.

After her muffin, Diamond helped herself to a few of the breakfast rolls, cutting them open and adding a little butter, they were delicious. And after those, she didn't quite feel up to eating a whole waffle, but she was still a might peckish. So, using her magic, she helped herself to a few of the toppings off the waffles.
"Hrmm..?" Diamond blinked at Quillson's question, her mouth full of strawberries. "Hmm..." She looked over the left over food, then at outside through the window to buy herself time while she chewed. Then an idea struck her, it was so obvious! She struggled to chew faster and finally freed herself to speak once more.
"Aestella!" she practically yelled, "Do you think she's eaten yet? If not, she's got to be hungry! We could bring her some! I'll even carry it over! I know, I know, she's still probably freaked out, b-but, we won't stay! Just... drop off the food. You can even give it to her and I'll hang back so I don't startle her. Well? What do you say?" Diamond did her best puppy dog eyes she could to get Quillson to break down and agree to her idea.

He tilted his head to the side as Diamond went on about how to solve their food situation. It really was a nice offer to take the food back to Aestella. She was even considerate enough to point out every step possible to make sure that Aestella was comfortable in their return. Quill still wasn't sure it was the best idea. They'd already seen how Aestella reacted to having unexpected guests, especially more than one at a time...
And then there were the eyes. What was she doing? And... why did it actually get at Quill? What? Just a face like that?! Maybe he was coming down with something. Sure, that's it. Maybe he was getting sick with.... who knows. But whatever it was it confused the hay out of Quillson.
Grinning, though still confused on his inability to say no, Quillson responded. "Okay, all right. We can see about getting this over to Aestella. That really is nice of you to think of her, and I'm sure she'll appraciate the gesture." Why did he just have to give in? Surely he was losing his mind at this point.
Quillson stood and walked over beside Diamond, looking over the remaining food. "But please, allow me to help carry some of it. I wouldn't want you to be stuck with the burden on your own."

"Yes! Works every time!" Diamond thrust a hoof into the air in victory and, with a hop and a chuckle, joined Quillson beside the table. Now it was a simple matter of dividing up the dishes. There wasn't too much left. Mostly waffles and few rolls. She should easily handle it with her magic, but Quillson wanted to help too. So be it.
First she gathered up the rest of rolls together and floated that plate over to Quillson. Then she piled the left over waffles together onto two plates, taking a stray strawberry she missed and popping it into her mouth, and then floated those beside her. Sometimes she loved her magic. It was so handy! She honestly did not understand now Earth Ponies and Pegasi got along without it. The poor souls.
"Ready then? Let's go!" She said with a giggle and lead Quillson from the room, marching towards the exit.

He looked up at her forehoof raised up into the air, still confused on his own actions. Blinking a few times and trying to collect his thoughts, Quillson suddenly found Diamond standing next to him. As she sorted through the surviving food he tried to make more sense of his situation.
Nope. Still nothing. Didn't make a lick of sense to him. He was crazy.
Quillson bounced back into the moment when a plate of topping-less waffles floated briefly past his nose. He looked over to find Diamond levitating her own plates of food around herself. He suddenly noticed the plate of rolls floating right over his head, grabbing them with his mouth. He placed them on the arch of his back, and turned to leave with the Unicorn.
"It looks like the snow's slowing down outside, should make the walk over a lot easier." He stopped at the front door of the inn, backing into it and holding the threshold open for his friend. "After you." Smiling, he nodded his head in a gesture for her to step on outside.

Diamond nodded her thanks once again to the pony and headed out into the cold, the waffles dancing in the air behind her. A shiver ran down her spine as the winter air hit her and she paused a few steps in front of the door to turn back, "Hey, do you think Aestella will mind if the food is, uh... partly frozen?" she gave a nervous laugh. She had forgotten about that detail, about the cold. "Oh well! Too late now."
She continued on a few more feet, kicking up some of the freshly fallen snow with her hooves as she waiting for Quillson to join her.

Quillson stepped down the steps leading up to the front of the inn, stopping beside Diamond Point. "Well, I guess we'll just have to find some way to heat them up when we get there. I'm sure Aestella has something that'll do." He looked around at the diminishing snow falling through the air, wondering how long the storm would stay this way.
He looked down at the snow flying up in the air around Diamond's legs as it swayed softly back to the road. He spoke as he looked back up at her, starting to walk forward back towards Aestella's abode. "Hey Diamond?" Oh geez louise. Couldn't he just accept a few moments of silence? No need to awkward things up anymore than he already had.
"Er, uh... nevermind. Lost my train of thought." He smiled over at her, continuing on his way. Great, now she was going to think he's just empty headed. Condemning himself mentally, Quillson tried to focus on the snow covered road ahead.

Diamond looked up and stopped kicking the snow when her named was called. She tilted her head slightly, confused, as she waiting to see what Quillson wanted.
"Er, uh... nevermind. Lost my train of thought."
Diamond raised an eyebrow, "Ooookay then." That was strange and unlike him, but it's bound to happen to everypony, so she shrugged it off and caught up and walked in step along side him.
"So, you think she really have a way to heat these up? Do you think she has a sort of warming spell or some crazy contraption? I suppose she could always set them over a fire for a little bit, but she would have to be careful or they might burn or even catch fire. Do waffles catch fire? I mean, I'm sure they burn, but do they go up in flame? Hey, Quill you got any matches? No reason, just curious, really. Oh! What is she doesn't just have a warming spell, but she shoots a fire ball at them? That was fantastic! She could be like a mini dragon. How cool would a mini dragon be? You could have one as a pet!"
And she continued to ramble on about Celestia knows what while they made their way through the streets.
