"If that is what you want stop this and let's leave here before we attract something we don't want to attract. Everfree is most dangerous at night. Things far worse than Salamanders or Ferals prowl these woods at night. I ask you one last time. Come quietly." At that, he unleashed another warning shot, from an entirely different direction, still staying out of sight.
"If one of us tires out and a monster comes by we'll both be needles in a hay stack." He called out from another different direction, hoping to confuse the pegasus pony. "The next shot won't miss." He threatened.

This time, as Shroud had been listening closely, he could hear the gentle 'thwip' of the dart flying through the air. Though he didn't know it would miss, and his wing snapped up in an instant, a gust of fog rising from the ground where it had been secretly gathering, blowing the dart into a nearby tree. The fog then settled back over the ground, and Shroud opened his eyes, now peering about for Ranger.
"The only way I'm going back is if you promise not to get anyone else involved. What happened back there was.. Well, if I trusted you before, I don't now, we'll say. Not as much anyway. That was the direct opposite of what we had just went over." He stated sharply.
"Do you swear?"

"I didn't involve her, Shroud." Ranger said, "She involved herself. Maybe because she saw what a foolish need it is to prove to yourself you can fight someone. Especially when she's gone through all of the trouble of serving a dinner plate for you as well. I maybe your commander, but I am most certainly not hers. And if you think out here nothing will intervene, you can think again. If you want me to ride your flank, I'm more then willing to do it - in a productive manner. Not like this, not for whatever it is you want to prove to yourself. You'll get plenty of chances to show your worth. Right now, you're just making me think you are reckless."

"Still." Shroud stated, wings flapping to ready for flight, "If I had left it at that, I wouldn't be here right now. I wouldn't be in Ponyville, either. I'm going to hold you to your word." He lifted off of the rock, the fog lifting off of the ground to follow him, before settling again, "And it's not me I need to prove anything to. I know my abilities, and I know what I can do.. It's a matter of making you see them too."
"Suppose I'll see you tomorrow? I'm not showing my face in your home again."

He was surprised as a grappling hook wrapped its coil around his leg and he was yanked down. "Oh yes you are, my sister fixed you dinner, if you're not going to have it with me, I'm going to just have to force feed it to you. You understand that?" After all, to refuse his sister's hospitality would be to insult her, and if he was to insult Ranger's sister, well let's just say you don't do that. You just don't do that.

Grunting sharply, Shroud whipped around, a flap of his wing sending a concentrated slash of qiuckly icing mist at the rope - Like a blade, it sliced through the rope, releasing him from the grapple as the frozen mist shattered on the ground. Shroud rose to the tops of the trees, glaring down at a pony he knew he couldn't see.
"What are you doing?" He asked, "You JUST said we need to get out of here, and now this? I'm not hungry, and I don't have a reason to be there. It'd be disrespectful for me to be there, even, given how I acted tonight, EVEN if my actions were neccesary."

And then it triggered, a trap Ranger had set up, once the rope to the grappling hook was cut, a gas bomb was launched straight at Storm Shroud's face, enveloping him in a bright blue-cyan vapor.
Suddenly his balance became completely off, and he found himself quickly plummeting into the ground.
"Blue Joker venom, affects immediately." Ranger called out, "I warned you."

Though he hadn't breathed it in, his lungs locked up upon the bomb exploding in his face, the gas was on-skin contact it seemed. Storm Shroud's wings exploded into a cloud of fog, and promptly locked up, as Shroud dropped out of the air, plummeting down and promptly cracking his head against the ground, with no real way to brace himself for hitting the ground. If his fall wasn't broken, that might just be the end of him. No matter how he met the ground, he rest, limp, eyes wide, breathing shallow.

It was not the ground Shroudy landed, but after falling through more than several branches, he came to rest on top of a pile of soft leaves. "I was going to catch you, but these leaves were conviniently in the way." Ranger said, dragging the pegasus out of the leaf pile, and promptly shooting him with a tranquilizer dart.
"You're not causing any more trouble today mister. You're going to come with, eat your dinner and go to bed like a good mister. And tomorrow we'll work out how we can work on our relationship better. Yes sir. At least I hope you realize I don't hate you, even if you did insult my sister's hospitality." Ranger rambled on, as he got underneath Shroudy and began to carry him back towards Ponyville.
"She'll just be heartbroken if she founds out you didn't eat it, that's all. Can't let you break my sister's innocent little heart now can I? All she wanted was to bestow a kindness on you. Same with me. I can already tell you and I are going to be great friends. We've both got the guts to do what we believe in. Yep, nothing I value in a person more than that." He continued.

..... When next Storm Shroud regained consciousness, it was in a slow, groggy manner in which he felt his eyes were as heavy as boulders. He breathed softly, and he groaned quietly as he struggled to open them, eyes blearily looking around with fuzzy vision. He squinted softly, as if to try to focus his vision to see where he was. Was he at home? Somewhere else? --Well, certainly not at home.. Ranger couldn't fly.

Storm Shroud noticed he was lying on a sofa inside a burrow like home. The living room was not large and it was obvious that it seldomly have seen any guests, though despite that, it was impeccably clean. He noticed he was tucked in with a blanket and a pillow, and heard the faint sound of a stew bubbling off in the kitchen.
He also heard tiny snores as a little fox was resting on a fluffy pillow on the other edge of the living room. One of its ears twitched, but it was otherwise completely asleep. "Sprite really outdone herself this time." He heard muttering from the kitchen, "This potato stew is delicious." At that the pony he knew as Ranger trotted casually into the living room.

After his vision had come into focus, Storm Shroud froze. He knew exactly where we was.. And he didn't like it. Actually, this was the last place he wanted to be right now.
Groaning softly again, he closed his eyes, and rest a hoof over his eyes as he mulled over how he was going to get out of here. Chances were, Ranger wasn't just going to let him walk... Not that he could stop him forever. Maybe if Storm Shroud just kept trying, and trying, Ranger would just give up and stop bothering him about staying?
Shroud kicked off the blanket, and huffed quietly as he rolled off of the couch, standing groggily on his own four hooves.

"Ah you're awake, good. Look, my sister's asleep and you're in no shape to go outside now. Crash here for the night and we can continue on tomorrow." Ranger said quietly, "But first come over and have a bite, this stew is amazing." He indicated at the two steaming, aromatic bowls on the table.
He hoped Storm Shroud wouldn't cause anymore trouble, if he woke Sprite up, it would end up very uncomfortable for both of them. Not to mention he never gave him any antidote for the venom to begin with, meaning he was still incapable of flying without losing his balance. Hopefully he'd just do as Ranger said.

"...I'm still not hungry." Storm Shroud replied, staring at the floor rather than at Ranger - He did speak in a hushed voice, so as not to disturb Ranger's sister. He stretched his legs a bit, and didn't bother testing his wings as he figured Ranger wasn't going to let him be well again this soon.
"I may not be able to fly, but I'm sure I could go into town and find a room to stay in temporarily. It's not right for me to stay here." He added, tilting his head toward Ranger, yet not looking at him still. He was asking politely.

"Well then stay here as a favor for me, alright?" Ranger asked, "Come on, this is really delicious. Don't make me eat by myself." It was obviously less than fair to be left to eat alone, considering Shroud was the reason he missed his dinner with Sprite in the first place.
"Please?"
