Voices from inside the store assaulted her ears, concerned voices all ushering her inside the strange store. Glancing from face to face, Aesetlla attempted to connect the voices to the individuals in the room to little avail. She closed her eyes, focusing her senses on the watch on her foreleg. Concentrating, the mare attempted to filter the things the other ponies have said to her.
Tick... The Earth pony with the appleloosian accent asked her to come inside... Tick... The Unicorn with the grey-purple hair offered tea... Tick... The pegasi-zebra asked about her Watch, mentioning family...
Slowly, Aestella raised her left foreleg, opening her eyes and looking at the watch, responding slowly and quietly; "It.. is a watch... from my mothe-" She cut herself off mid sentence finally registering a tap on her flank. She jumps, letting out a quick squeak in shock and terror, collapsing in a state of shock and panic in the corner of the room. After a few seconds, she managed to readjust herself, choking out a quiet, "S-sorry"

Upon hearing the polite offers of entrance come from the ponies inside, Quillson rose his head to them, smiling politely from behind the pony standing in the doorway.
Surprised, he watched as the filly he just approached frighteningly flung herself to the corner of the room, stepping back a step in his own shock. His rear feet land firmly in the snow outside the door, the cold chill encroaching across him from the back forward.
"Oh my! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you!"
Quill stepped across the room over towards the recently frightened pony with a reassuring look on his face. As he came forward the male pony inadvertently tracked in a few hoof-marks of snow onto the floor.
"So sorry for that, I honestly meant nothing of it. Here, let me help you up."
Quillson stuck out a front hoof to help the pony to her feet.

Apple Cider was shocked at what she was seeing as the filly suddenly dashed to the corner of the room and collapsed. She too stumbled backwards from the surprise and bumped into a bookshelf and knocke her hat off. "Hey there," Apple Cider said in a calming tone as she put her hat back on and walked to the scared pony, "Don' worry. No pony's gonna hurt you here. I'm Apple Cider by way. What's yer name?"

Kuruka watched the scene before her unfold and decided it would be best to let the pony to her own. She would eventually gather enough confidence to introduce herself. It would just take time was all. Kuruka merely grinned at the filly, allowing space enough to let the pony breathe. The others jumped at the opportunity to welcome a newcomer and Kuruka didn't blame them. A white and brown stallion held out his hoof to help the shy pony up while Apple Cider started introductions. Kuruka's protective side wanted to step between the group and the filly, but that would only worsen things. So Kuruka merely stepped forward, grin still on her face, and suggested, "I do not think this one likes being the center of attention." She winked at Apple Cider. "She seems much too modest."

Nimble looked over the new ponies who just came in, and back over to Kuruka. "I think you may be right, we should let her get used to our company." he looked back over to the group of ponies gathered in the corner. "Everypony, can you give her some room?"

After a couple of false starts and tumbles, Aestella managed to accept Quillson's aid and is pulled to her feet. While ascending, she tried to piece together what the other pony had said and asked her. "Not going to hurt me? That's kind of reassuring..." Once she was put upright again, she swallowed, and looked back and forth between the two ponies. "What do I do? What should I say?" Her eyes grew wide as she began to relapse into shock, however she caught herself and choked out a quiet statement. "T-thanks, I'm Aestella...". After another awkward pause she repeated herself, seemingly unsure that she had even spoken. "Aestella... I'm Aestella, thank you, Apple... Cider?" Looking quiet relieved for having managed to introduce herself, and at the extra room the other two ponies in the room had left for her, she decided to continue speaking before her nature got the best of her again. Turning to the pony that helped her up, she spoke; "I appreciate the help, and sorry for getting caught in the door like that". Finally, to the others in the store, she stammered, "I a-apologize for disturbing you all..." After finishing that last sentence, Aestella's body seized up, unwilling to go through any more trauma. She looked around the room helplessly, waiting to see what would come next.

Quillson listened carefully to the young pony's introduction, as well as the other ponies' words of assurance to her and warning of space. "It's no problem at all Aestella. My apologies again. He backed up a few steps himself, giving Aestella the room she most likely wanted. Hoping to draw the attention away from her so that she'd feel more comfortable, Quillson stepped forward to the group of ponies that had gathered inside.
"Howdy everypony. Sorry for the intrusion, I don't mean to interrupt. The name's Quillson Oatswrite. I'm new in town, and I was unsure of where to go... and once the weather hit, I thought it would be best to get inside.
The pony looked over to the group with a calm smile, looking from one to the other as he talked. Once he'd finished, he glanced back at Aestella to see how she was faring now.

Apple Cider nodded in agreement to Kuruka and Nimble Mind about staying back a bit. She realized how awkward it must be as a shy pony and having everypony talk to her at once. A smile went across Apple Cider's face when she saw that aestella was up and talking, even remembering to say her name. "Ah don worry. You weren't disturbin anypony here. We were all just checkin out the books here and talkin." She then heard the other pony who came in just after Aestella named Quillson introduce himself. "howdy Quillson. Mah name's Apple Cider. Hoofington weather can get mighty stormy especially in the winter, so it was good that ya came inside from the cold. And ya get a chance to meet some other ponies!"

Kuruka shuddered violently when she took a glance out the windows. "On second thought, Apple Cider, I think I will try to wait this storm out before looking around Hoofton." Her teeth began to chatter, even though it was relatively warm inside the bookstore. "You would not happen to have some tea left, Nimble, would you?"

Nimble looks over at Aestella, getting welcomed by everypony in the store, then turns to Kuruka. "I'm not sure, friend, but I can check. If I don't, then I'll make up some more." He turns back to the group over by Aestella. "Would anypony else like some fresh tea?"

Grateful for the extra space and less attention, Aestella let out an inaudible sigh of relief. With the other ponies engaged in other conversations, she took this time to relax a bit and compose herself a little more. Her eyes wandered the store, looking at the bookshelves all neatly arranged, "This isn't so bad" she thought, "It's actually quite comfortable in here, very orderly." Her thoughts were interrupted, however, when the other unicorn in the store asked if anypony wanted some tea. Aestella blinked, having never drunk anything other than water for the longest time, she was unsure how tea of any kind would make her feel. Not wanting to seem ungrateful she put on a shaky smile and responded with a quiet, "That sounds lovely, thank you sir." Still similing, she continues to look at the other ponies in the room, confident that she'd be able to keep socializing. However, the realization that she would have to continue talking suddenly dawned on her, filling her with unease. Withdrawing from the other, Aestella started to walk around the room, slowly looking over the various books while trying to distract herself from these unfamiliar surroundings.

Quillson nodded politely to Apple Cider upon her introduction, listening to the various other ponies as well. Upon the request for Tea coming up the pony turned to he now knew as "Nimble".
"That's a very generous offer, thank of you! But I will greatfully decline. I've never been a big drinker of tea myself."
He glanced over towards Aestella after hearing her respond, noticing her begin to wander around the shop. Turning back to the group, Quillson began to address them once more.
"This is a mighty fine store you've got here. I'm a bit of a book fanatic myself. May I ask whose shop this is?

"I think yer right, Kuruka. The storm's getting mighty nasty outside. Maybe stayin here fer a while until it calms down is a good idea." She then heard Nimble mention tea. "Well if ya have the tea, I'd fancy another of that tea ya gave me before." Apple Cider then saw Aestella wander through the crowd, looking at the books. Much as she would want to go and help her, Apple Cider knew in this case it would be best to leave the filly alone until she was ready to talk.

Kuruka shuddered again and took a seat at one of the tables, glaring at the snow storm outside. Why couldn't weather here be warm and natural? What pony in his or her right mind would willingly endure such conditions? A glance at the black bracelets on her fetlock answered her own question. The one she had set aside for her littlest sister seemed to grin back reassuringly. She would. To provide a better future for her siblings, she would. Kuruka snorted as if admitting defeat. Better for her and her family's bodies to freeze here while their hearts were warmed by good friends than to live in the warmth of their village while their hearts froze in ostracism. She glanced at Aestella and a small half-smile formed on her lips in spite of herself. So much like Amali. Shy, but curious. Just the kind of pony Kuruka would typically take under her wing. Kuruka froze at the thought, tightly pinning her wings against her body once more. Had she relaxed too much? Had anyone noticed? Her father had said pegasi were more numerous outside the village, but she had yet to see one. Were they usually banished to a separate group? Would she be sent away as well? Kuruka swallowed and tried not to bite her lip too hard. She was a warrior, for hoof's sake! Warriors weren't supposed to be concerned about such frivolous things as social acceptance. ((ooc: Wow, long post with no verbal communication... Sorry, guys, I might be having a little too much fun going so deep into this character... ))

"Okay, so that's two teas, I'll be right back. If you ponies start feeling cold, there are some blankets in the closet by the back room, the door to the right." Nimble steps into his kitchen, pours two more cups of tea, and walks back out. "And Quillson, this is my shop. Welcome to Textual Treasures!"
