Name: Jasiri Gender: Female. Age: Late adolescent. Tribe: Kickuyu. Pelt Color: White with black stripes. Mane/Tail Color & Style: Black and white. Mane is cropped close enough to the neck that it does not catch on things and slow her down. Her tail, however, is uncut and allowed to fly loose. Eye Color: Brown. Cutie Mark: This thing.Tribal Tattoo: Jasiri does not possess tattoos. Yet. Residence: The Kickuyu camp. Occupation: Warrior-in-training, occasional brewer of fermented beverages. Talents, Skills: If Jasiri were to have a ‘special talent,’ it would likely be her ability to move quickly through challenging terrain. Closed-in jungles are her favorite; she is an avid climber, is very flexible and quick to spot potential pathways. She is just as swift on the open savannah, although she will almost always be on the lookout for a tree she can climb. She is also a budding warrior, although not one of any repute; she has the reflexes to handle herself in a scuffle, and is a team player when it comes to bigger challenges, but is still young and unscarred. She does possess her race’s penchant for alchemy and potions, but unlike many of her fellows, she has little interest in charms or tonics; in her spare time, Jasiri is an avid brewer of various drinks. She also knows a small collection of medicinal remedies, but only for the most basic of ailments––about half of which happen to be cures for hangovers. Likes: Drums, showing off, songs, group dances, climbing, alcohol, windy days. Dislikes: Pessimism, rockslides, being tricked, sore losers, being lost, being ignored. Character Personality: Outgoing, competitive and friendly; Jasiri is an easygoing mare, who, despite her penchant for showing off and trying to prove herself, is not one to hold grudges or pursue vendettas. She is a Kickuyu warrior (or, at least, she will be) and naturally seeks out opportunities to test her skill. She is not a sore loser, however; she loves praise and recognition as much as the next pony, but she’s just as quick to turn around and praise someone else for displays of skill and bravery, even––especially––if they have bested her. To her, the entire point of competition is self-improvement, and every defeat is an opportunity to learn. Outside of her duties as a warrior-to-be, Jasiri is a friendly sort. She is quick to make friends and quick to stand up for what she believes in. Bio: As the firstborn child to a Kickuyu warrior and a fishermare, Jasiri was never lacking attention from her parents and extended family. At least, until her first sibling was born, but that hardly put a damper on things; Jasiri was just as happy to dote on her little brother as everyone else was. After that came more siblings, and her parents' attentions eventually turned to the more practical matters of keeping everyone fed and safe as their numbers continued to grow. Observing her parents' efforts to keep the family whole and happy imprinted Jasiri with most of her morals and instilled within her a desire to be helpful to her tribe. With her parents focused on family, Jasiri was given somewhat free rein to pursue her own interests. Chief among those interests was a desire to be like her father, a Kickuyu warrior of many years. Already possessed of a cheerful friendliness, Jasiri's skill at making bonds allowed her to accompany the other young foals as they pestered lessons out of retired elders. They followed foragers and scouts, happy to assist in finding food and resources while simultaneously learning the groundwork of survival. As Jasiri and her friends grew older, competitiveness naturally turned into good-natured scuffles and races. While she was not the biggest or strongest foal her age, she was quite quick; she discovered her talent for moving through difficult terrain in her pre-adolescent years, a talent that gained her some notice from more experienced tribesponies of the Kickuyu. An older scout in particular by the name of Busara recognized the advantage Jasiri's gift would have if used in the right way. He took her under his wing and spent two years training her in the art of scouting before age and a leg injury forced him to retire. While he could accompany her anymore, the two remained fast friends as Jasiri continued to grow in size and skill.

Reword the fermented beverage part to something that doesn't outright suggest alcohol, and you're good to go.
