King Whitefeather The 1st: The first king of the Griffon Kingdom and a disaster by all counts. He went down in infamy as the worst leader in the history of both the Kingdom and the Clans. Having focused entirely on building more homes for the upper echelon of his clan during his regime, he inadvertantly started the Dragon Wars. Refusing at first to fight alongside his kin, he met his end in the very first battle he participated in, while trying to run away.
King Dreadwing Whitefeather: Known best as Dreadwing, he was the embodiment of all griffon ideals. In the time of crisis in the Dragon Wars, when everything was about to fall apart, with his older brother and father dead, he re-united the clans and started the co-operation with the Kingdom of Equestria. He was known as an excellent fighter and innovator, masterminding the design for the Dreadnaught. His symbol, the Dreadwing is carried to this day by his remaining blood line. Unfortunately, he had no male heirs when he died, thus his younger brother took the throne.
Severus Whitefeather: Though King Dreadwing was known far and wide for his sharp mind and even sharper combat skills, the Griffon Kingdom agree unanimously that the greatest warrior in Griffon History was his older brother Severus. Severus was next in line to the throne, and though he was not nearly as intelligent as his younger brother, he was keen to learn and even keener to defend the griffon ideals. There are many speculations to what his rule would look like, but unfortunately, Severus died heroically while defending his fleeing father. Even in death, however, he was mighty, battling five dragons and taking three of them out before he could finally fight no more. His body was later recovered and put to rest by King Dreadwing. That was the common belief until the Griffon revealed himself once more and instigated the Griffon Civil War in order to remove the king from power. Having watched the Griffon Kingdom grow corrupt, Severus revealed himself as Rust Phoenix and attacked, holding to the duty that bound him to his golem body - protect the Griffon Kingdom, even from itself. At the end of the Civil War Severus removed the right of heir and appointed the military council to govern the Kingdom until such time as the Elements of Harmony choose another ruler.
Ivor Whitefeather: Ivor was the youngest of the Whitefeather brothers, he had no remarkable feats prior to his older brother's death at the hands of the Adversary during the Prism Wars. In the Blood Wars he was a somewhat decorated communications officer, when all of his fliers were taken by dragons and arhcers, he himself took to the field delivering important messages between forces. After the end of the Prism Wars he put his focus on fostering the relations between Equestria and the Griffon Kingdom, which were tense at best. He succeeded greatly in this endeavour, and managed to re-soldify the pony griffon alliance.
Hephaestus Stonebeak: The first in the line of the Great Griffon Smiths, his craftsmanship was legendary and his technique has been moved down the line of smiths, only one student is chosen by a Great Smith, who then replaces him and picks another and so on. Hephaestus' discipline of smithing creates medieval style weaponry and armor and seeks to keep the ancient griffon smithing traditions alive, therefore it is often referred to as the Traditional Discipline. To this day Hephaestus' weapons and armors hold up against even the marvels of technology.
Vulcan Ironguard: After the Dragon Wars a young smith and inventor, one Vulcan of the Ironguard clan, decided it was time to innovate and find methods of fighting that did not require massive airships just to take down a single dragon. The inventor immediately began to work on creating many technological marvels in both the armor and weaponry departments. Creating such inventions that not only provided great protection, but often included many other abilities that improved a soldier's performance in combat. This discipline immediately caught on and was named the Alternative Discipline. A name Vulcan was never happy with. Schematics and artifacts of Vulcan are prized and are known to fetch high prices in any market.
The Black Talon: The Griffon equivalent to Blackmane, Black Talon however was far less successful and was not able to build the same legend as his pony counterpart. His pirate crew was taken down by the Griffon Kingdom in one swift battle, he was captured and tried for piracy and was promptly executed. No artifacts remained of him as part of the measures to eliminate his legend. Ironically, this seems to have started a legend in and of itself for the Black Talon, the legend of the worst sky pirate in history. To this day the name is used as a synonym for incompetence.
General Dreadtalon: Formerly Admiral Redtalon of the Griffon Royal Navy's 6th Fleet, General Dreadtalon was in charge of the Changeling Extermination in the Griffon Kingdom, an act which seemed to have unsettled the griffon and drove him to piracy. For years Dreadtalon has held the largest fleet in the Griffon Kingdom, comprised of many lesser pirate clans, he was able to pester and dismay the Griffon Kingdom for years and even more so after he was joined by the Equestrian Blackmane. Always staying one step ahead of the Armada. He was finally captured and his fleet destroyed in the battle over Canterlot.
Maginot: Famous griffon architect, who designed the Maginot Line, the Royal Rocks defense system. Royal Rocks is a cliff edge sticking out of a mountain. On the ledge above and below it exist the Maginot Line of turrets and defenses, protecting it from any angle against an attack. This Line was the sole reason the Griffon Kingdom was not wiped out in the Dragon Wars.
Admiral Tesla: Commander of the 5th Mechanized Fleet, highly decorated veteran of many skirmishes and master engineer. Inventor of countless innovations in energy manipulation and distribution technology and mastermind behind of the Leviathan.
Stygg Whitefeather: Formerly of the Valkyrie Unit in the Griffon Aer Force and promoted to the leader of Scythe, the elite Griffon commandos, she is a decisive warrior and is well known for adhering to the griffon traditions and ideals. Famous for her co-operation with Field Marshal Starling of Equestria in taking down the elder dragon Slaad.
