As clouds rolled across the sky it was clear a strong wind was picking up around the outskirts of the town, clouds didn't normally move on their own, especially in an area with very few magically gifted ponies around. Not that many of the ponies down below paid much attention to the clouds today, it had been snowing recently so barely anyone was outside, there was simply too much ice! It was dangerous to set foot in certain parts of town because of it. Thankfully, another more sleepy member of the area today did not have to touch the ground to get around...That was, if he ever got up.
Rustie was used to the cold and barley even felt it under his warm feathers, so sleeping through a storm was not uncommon for him, although sleeping for an entire day without even opening his eyes to check the time of day was something else. Today he was feeling apparently very lazy, even more so than usual and did not even feel like gracing the world with even a glimpse of his amber eyes. Groggily the Gryphon rolled over on the cloud, half yawning and half groaning, Adjusting himself for the third time that hour before proceeding to bury his face under his wing to shield it from the sun light. His tail just drooping over the clouds side at the shift in weight, today was not his day and he did not want to face it. Tomorrow maybe, if he could be bothered.
This bright pigment of blue however made him easily spotted to anypony who would happen to look towards the sky, although he couldn't see why they would, so it didn't bother him.

The slow decent of snowflakes was disturbed by the large form of a pony trotting across the empty hills that surrounded the small town of Appeloosa covered in blankets his voice was muffled but it was clear that he was not a happy pony.
``Well done Hefty this must have been your best idea so far! Lets walk to appleloosa. Lets not buy a train ticket but instead spare the bits and walk. What the hay was I thinking? There is no story to be had in snow ´´ the stallion muttered under his breath.
A gale of wind pushed up his blankets corner and he thougth he saw something up in the sky, maybe it was a pegasus he looked up saw a long blue and white shape on the edge of a wandering cloud.
Hefty could not help but to wonder What strange looking shape it was maybe a pegasus tail or a mane? Having stopped moving for few minutes to wonder the strange cloud the stallion felt the bite of winter getting to him he shivered and trotted his hooves up and down to keep himself warm. Then the thought hit Hefty like bucket of ice cubes that pony up there must be freezing he could even be hurt! Filling his lungs with the cold winter air and letting out a shout: Everypony okay in there? Maybe you should get in doors before you freeze to death.

The white creature continued to fidget on his white kingdom, that was until the sound on crunching stop disturbed him again. Although aggregated at first, Rustie attempted to block out the sound. Hoping the pony below would pass through quickly and allow him to go back to his slumber. At first this seemed to be the case as it was not long before the irritating noise silenced itself, it however did not last long as the air was then filled with the stallions voice calling up to him...Well what he would assume to be him, there where no ponies around him..at least not on any of the clouds he could see.
The Griffin growled to himself, great now he was awake and apparently visible to this pony below him. He would never get back to sleep now, so it was better that he acknowledged the Pony, even if it was just to be polite. He rubbed his face with his foreclaw before, standing on the cloud properly, stretching his back into an arch soon followed by his back feet. It was clear he still had to force himself to really wake up, although once finished he, laid back down on the cloud letting his head crane over the edge to speak with the Colt below him.
"No ponies up here mate' I think you're a bit confused" He chuckled, calling down. The Stallion looked cold...Very cold "Maybe ya' should be headin' into town, weather like this isn't good for you pony folk"

As Hefty started to feel worried the odd shape begun to move first it disappeared out of site only to reappear with a pair of nasty looking talons and a beaked head.
That is not a pony thought the stallion as the strange creature looked at him and spoke. Wait a moment he heard about them but never before had run into one this close that thing... correction that person up there was a griffin and apparently was not planning on eviscerating him because it... he was trying to be civil, Hefty remember what you dear momma always said don´t judge a book by its cover or a pony by his cutiemark.
Before he could think things anyfurther his motormouth got the best of him and asked: Are clouds comfy? are they warm? and do griffins have cutiemarks?. Dammit why did his mouth have the power to by pass his brains entirely!. he quickly tried to fix things by taking the polite approach: Sorry let me rephrase that My name is Hefty Draugth and yours would be?
Hmm maybe there was a good story to be had here. That white and blue bird seemed nice enough. Who knows maybe he could be persuaded to chat a while that alone would make decent story to tell everypony when he got to town, he hadnt had a story added to his repertoire in over half a year so the need for new material was great and he was going fish out a story here even if it meant his haunches freeze over.

Rustie frowned, he was not expecting a conversation fro the pony, in fact he was expecting him to be scared of him. Oh well this could be interesting, if not eventful. Shaking his head with a smile the Gryphon rose to his feet, ruffling his wins before flying down to the ponies level so he could speak to him easier. He stood a fair bit taller than the stallion in front of him but that didn't bother Rustie, hopefully it wouldn't bother Hefty either.
" Yes there comfy, It depends on the weather and No, we dont" He Chuckled trying to remember all of the Ponies questions as he answered. " My name is Rustie, Nice ta' met you Hefty" He smiled, offering his right fore claw for the pony to shake
Not many ponies ever spoke to Rustie so this was new for him, usually he could avoid all of them by staying in his clouds. Apparently though this time he was spotted and maybe it was a good thing. This didn't seem so bad...

Hefty was scared nearly witless, when the griffin landed and extended a claw with razor sharp talons on the end. Clearly the griffin did not know how frightening he appeared!.
Well if there was anything he knew he was good at, it was lying so Hefty did what he did best lied to himself. Telling himself that he was brave and was not affraid in the least of this griffin.
With a head splitting grin Hefty extended his right hoof shaking the predators claw: The pleasure is all mine Rustie was it? I hope I did not disturb any important business.
With a swift motion of his free hoof Hefty threw the blankets covering him back revealing the full glory of his blue mane.
Hefty felt the cold even stronger now but was not going to let it affect his charm all that was now important was to make this Rustie fellow believe in the lie Hefty had told himself.
What brings you to Appleloosa Rustie?: Hefty asked while covertly massaging warmth and life back to his hoofs.

Rustie chuckled, maybe this pony was braver than he first thought! He did not seem to be scared of him in the least, which was a very good thing indeed. Rustie didn't like the idea of scaring others, let alone one that had done him no harm. As He released the Ponies hoof after of coruse shaking it, he ruffled his wings, watching the Stallion reveal is bright blue mane. It was quite the sight to see, especially for a Gryphon who did not tend to see many ponies
" Oh no no, I was just taking a Nap up there" The creature smiled, nodding his head to the colt " Nothing important at all" He continued, chuckling once finished
His amber eyes watched the red pony try to warm himself, clearly being affected by the cold "Oh nothing special, the strong breeze must have carried the cloud I was sleeping on out here....Hey do you need any help?, You look cold, really cold" he frowned, offering his wing to the Stallion to her him keep warm , after all if his feathers could keep him warm, they could definitely keep a pony warm~

Hefty had been too busy earlier staring at the griffins frightening talons, to notice that he did in fact have wings. That had the most strangest symbols on them Hefty was transfixed staring at the beautiful wing that he almost missed Rusties suggestion.
I am STRONG I am BRAVE I feel nor hunger or cold. Coating himself in layers and layers of lies Hefty Stood up tall and did his best not to shiver in the cold. He could feel that his muscles were tensing and his sides ached from the yelling he had done earlier.
Mustering his reserves he kept up his masking Grin and said: Hahaha No worry Rustie its just an old ache from times past. Shaking his head he continued: Must be wonderful to be able to fly. You must have seen all of equestria by now and travelled in places we pony folk havent even heard of?.
Heftys wandering mind once more pulled his attention to the extended wing it looked so fluffy and would undoubtably be warm..... NO he couldnt. he was starting to like this chuckling bird and was growing more sure of the fact he meant no harm. But still felt uncomfortable getting too close.
