A couple of hours earlier, Salmana had post signs all across canterlot for help with a potion she wanted to make for a cure to manticore poison, which is very hard to treat and create so she posted posters for everyone to come to her house and help.
Salmana stands in front of a desk full of different ingredients, like poison joke nectar, herbs, bunny hair, and a lot of other stuff. she thinks out loud to herself "Hmm, I think maybe....no no no that can't work..." she looks at the poison joke and bunny fur Maybe poison joke and...no no no, won't work..." she looks at all the ingredent for a second and then she shuts her eyes and yell "UGH! I CAN"T THINK STRAIT TODAY!"

The southern side of Canterlot during the morning… Not only was it a beautiful sight for a mare's eyes, it was Crystal Lance's most favorite time and place within the whole city. The city streets had been totally isolated as Crystal Lance’s hooves relaxingly trotted across the hard cobblestone. Not one sound could be heard echoing through the morning air, aside from the calming ambiance of the birds chirping above. There was a reason Crystal Lance typically refused to travel into town at other times. This was the only hour she could be in Canterlot and maintain her sanity! The fact remained true until she heard the outcry of the white pelted unicorn stationed at the desk.
“You don’t say… I guess that makes two of us…” she muttered sarcastically to Salmana’s last remark. Crystal certainly wasn’t angered by the mare’s outcry. But although it didn’t spark inside her any strong feelings, she was still a bit annoyed. Crystal glanced over Salmana’s desk, somewhat curious as to what the other unicorn had been so deeply occupied with.

Salmana turns her head and sees the other pony glancing at the desk, she turns around quickly almost tiring to stop the other unicorn to look at the ingredients at the table though it still fails because her hooves aren't don't cover everything "unless you are here to help me, you have no point to look to see what i am doing. but i guess i can tell you." She stops trying to hide the ingredients on the table.
"What i am trying to do is to make a perfect potion to cure manticore poison, do you want to help."

Awfully protective, this one… Crystal Lance pondered in her mind, observing Salmana frantically covering her desk. Could she have bothered the mare so deeply with just a mere glance? Truthfully, Crystal Lance had been pretty apathetic towards the work Salmana had been doing. It was only out of a moment’s curiosity that she had taken the glance anyway. The white pelted unicorn then mentioned potions… Crystal was no expert in that field. Spending the majority of her adult life serving Equestria’s military, she had been a lot more knowledgeable in the ways of combative spell casting. But still, what would it hurt to learn something new?
“I’m afraid that might depend on a few things,” she muttered coldly to Salmana. Crystal had only arrived here out of coincidence and she had no obligation to serve anypony. This mare would have to have to be quite persuasive in order to gain her aid. “Just what might I gain from such assistance, mare?”

"Well.....i am a treasure hunter, so if you do help i could give you half of my next treasure hoard." Salmana said to the mare. She looked at the desk then back to her "All you need to do is to test out some potions..." she looks at some of the mutil-colored vials of potions, and she picks out one of them that is a bright ruby red. "Oh i forgot to tell you my name, I am Salmana." and she bows in front of the mare. "now this potion is made of ruby dust, froggy bottom dew water, and poison joke nectar.." She hands the potion to the mare.

"Crystal Lance," the aqua-blue maned unicorn softly replied, watching Salmana as she bowed her head. This unicorn had certainly been polite... perhaps more polite than Crystal was used to. Crystal did not share the feeling of obligation to bow her head herself. She maintained the position of her head as she stood in front of the mare.
Catching the potion vial using her telekinesis as Salmana passed it to her, she listened in awe as the other unicorn began to list its ingredients. Ruby dust and froggy bottom dew water seemed to be one thing, but poison joke nectar? She eyed the fizzing contents of the bottle with mild suspicion. Again, Crystal was not the expert on potions. She decided it would have been best to ask Salmana... just in case.
"Poison joke as a part of the contents? Are you certain this potion is safe?"

"i am certain it is safe, i believe that the only part of the poison joke that poisons you is really the leaf." She turns to her table and gets ready another potion. "now from a book i read the potion is to taste like carrots and chicken feathers, but that book didn't have the ingredients so i have to combine from scratch." Salmana seems to take some liquid rainbow, crushed apples, and a strange blue drop of water.
She looks at the the new potion she made it appears to be a bright lime green color and it appears to be as thick as molasses.

“Well that certainly didn’t taste like carrots,” Crystal groaned after coughing out the rest of what little remained of the potion. It did not taste like ruby dust, froggy bottom dew water, nor poison joke nectar—but rather some strange and filthy combination of the three, its obscure name resting somewhere at the tip of her disturbed tongue. Crystal could not even begin to describe the exact taste of the potion, nor would she attempt to at all. What was more important was the sickly feeling her stomach had now been giving her. Her body started to tremble as her patience began to grow short.
“You’re an expert on potions, correct? Don’t tell me you were simply applying random ingredients to the vials!” she quickly snapped at Salmana, raising her voice considerably. Crystal stared deep into the unicorn’s eyes, judging her character by her frustration-muddled perception alone. “You were, weren’t you? Did you even begin to consider the effects of your mixtures? Are you mad, Salmana?”

Bygone trotted along through Canterlot, enjoying the calmness of the morning. Not many ponies crowded the streets, allowing him to move at a leisurely pace. A shiver ran down his spine as he remembered Manehattan, and the awful crowds. And the noise.
He continued through the streets until he came to the house that he had been looking for; one belonging to a Miss Salmana. Something to do with finding a cure or an antidote or something... He stopped in front of the house, collecting his wits before he knocked on the door.

Salmana's eyes turned into an inferno and her glare was strong "NOW LOOK HERE! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY I AM MAKING THIS, DO YOU!" her voice boomed like a volcano and her mind was partway in a rage, after she said that she dropped and wobbled a bit. "I should become enraged it could increase the poisons process..." and she began to look sick.
She heard the knock on the door, she limped to it and opened it to see that it was another pony"well hello come inside.." Salmana said in a tired and sick voice and her body began so look sickly and weary.

“Forget this…” Crystal Lance snarled in distaste, seeing that Salmana had now sickened herself. Seeing how the unicorn had now brought into her body another potion, concocted just as irrationally, she no longer saw the point in wasting her time around the home. Crystal had hoped to learn a thing or two about potions, not be fed random concoctions of which not even Salmana knew the effects. It was a risk she refused to take. “If you’re so foolish to poison yourself with the same randomized potions, then I’ll have no choice but to leave this place immediately! I refuse to join in your folly!”
Crystal turned her head, though her stomach continued to wobble. She was preparing to leave, though she had not done so yet. She was unable to rush home, given her body’s current condition. Her eyes glanced past the eyes of the horn shattered stallion, trotting towards Salmana’s desk. If she had been a bit kinder she might have warned him of the consequences... Crystal frankly did not care.

"Random... Potions? That doesn't sound very safe," commented the brown stallion. The uneasy feeling in his stomach grew worse as he saw both ponies now feeling ill. Bygone stepped over to the table with the ingredients, mulling over the situation in his head.
"Maybe we should, um... look up the cure? You know, in a book?" said Bygone shyly. "Before somepony gets hurt?"

Salmana turns her head to Crystal "Fine leave, it's your fault that you won't help, besides i didn't even drink the potion i was stung by a manticore... opps secret sliped." she turned her head away in shame. "i guess you want an explanation huh, well i was looking for some baby manticore hair in the early morning and well i did find a manticore baby, with a sleeping manticore mom, so i cast a protection spell on my self, but little did i know i had a weak spot, and took a lock of fur of the baby manticore and as i did i was stung in the leg, so now manticore poison is in my baby and my magic slows it down and if i can't get the potion ready in time i could die..." she turns her head back with her deep yellow eyes "please....just help...i don't want to die." she started to cry in front of crystal.
She turned to bygone still crying "as for the book, there is no ingredients list on there..." she wiped her tears with her hoof. Salmana's horn lit up with bright light and then the light surrounded her and she stopped being sick, and she did the same too crystal. "that spell will cure me for a bit..."

Crystal stood perplexed as her frustrations slowly cooled at the narration of the white unicorn’s story. Her hooves had now been firmly planted to the cobblestone, resisting the urge leave but instead taking the opportunity to hear Salmana out. After the story was told, she honestly couldn’t feel sorry for Salmana, given that it sounded as if she had been out there all by herself. Having been a former military leader and having seen several days of combat, Crystal knew but one all-encompassing rule: never go out alone. And besides, she had seen ponies she knew die by her side in battles. It may have sounded wrong, but death was something her cold heart had now grown used to.
“Look… I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can help you Salmana… I’m no potions expert,” Crystal spoke to the weeping unicorn. She felt the healing energy of the unicorn’s magic, her stomach now feeling much healthier than it did moments before. Crystal had now been capable of a lot more... but for what? She had no idea how to cure a manticore’s poison. “You’ll have to help yourself… unless the stallion has the answer…” Crystal turned her head over to Bygone Era, hopeful that he would have been more knowledgeable on potions than she was.

Bygone's face paled and his pupils dilated when he heard the words "I could die."
"D-Die?" he stuttered. "W-well, I don't really know much about potions or antidotes, b-but I'm sure we could find something at the L-Library."
The thought of having another pony relying on him in a possibly life-threatening situation wrecked his nerves, but he tried not to let his trepidation show. He failed, and his breathing began to speed up.
Smiling uneasily to try and dispel his own doubt, he continued. "Yes, I'm sure there's a book on it at the library. We'll find it, I'm sure!"
