The world swam into view slowly, out of focus for a few moments. Lone Blaze blinked up at the stone ceiling above her, her brain stubbornly refusing to make sense of what she was seeing. The last thing she remembered was...horrible pain. That's right, she thought to herself, lifting her head slightly. She was in the bog, and the water creature attacked her. She drowned...didn't she? She felt like she was drowning, and now...
Lone Blaze wasn't sure how she felt. Different, that was for sure. She rose to her hooves slowly, her body responding smoothly enough. But it didn't feel the same to her. She felt almost...cold, inside and out. She looked around the room she had found herself in. A small bed, the one she had awakened in, a similarly small dresser in another corner, no mirror. The walls, the floor, the ceiling, they were all made of the same gray stone. Whoever had saved her must have brought her here, but why? She trotted towards the door slowly, trying to make sense of the biggest mystery of all.
Why did she feel so strange, almost as if she had died? There was an emptiness about her she just couldn't shake. If she tried, though, she could almost sense a magic around her, one besides her own. She gave up on that quickly, though; she barely understood her own magic, much less magic in general.
