Cloudfall paced back and forth several feet before the tree line of the Everfree Forest, switching between trotting and flying ever so often as he continued to go back and forth, waiting. He was early, but he didn't care. It's not like he had anything else to do and this task consumed his thoughts.
He packed a few things before coming to the forest, most of which was probably going to be useless. He just grabbed whatever looked like it might be useful, but it his state of mind, he was no judge. The only thing he had that was needed, for sure, was a bag of bits. Payment for their escort into the forest, whom he was waiting for.
He stopped pacing, hovering above the group and looked around, letting out a grunt, "Where is she...?"

Harrier landed softly next to the dark blue pegasus, giving him an encouraging smile. "So ye came early, eh?" she said, patting him on the back. "I'll guess ye have my bits, because you seem like an honorable sort. What else did ye bring?"
For her part, Harrier had made sure she was well equipped. She had kept her lute on her, but she also had two knives; one spring loaded in a leather sheath on her hoof, and then another in a sheath attached to her saddle, easily within reach of her mouth if she needed it. She also had taken her lute (Sturdy thing; she'd used it as a weapon in the past, even if it really was to soothe everypony's nerves), and was wearing a saddle and a thick leather vest as light armor.
"What about the other lass, is she coming too?" she asked, keeping an eye on the sky. "Ah well, we can get started now. I need ye to tell me everything you remember about this pony we're looking for," she began. "Starting with whether she flew away or ran away."

Trinity quickly flew to Everfree being a bit late. Not that he intended to but because he was searching for things to help find Wildfire. "Sorry I'm late." He landed wearing his saddlebags which were filled with a pair Binocular, few books and a tinderbox. "I was trying to find somethings" he said with as he panted. "are we all set and ready?" He asked as he looked over at the other two ponies.

Cloudfall lowered himself to the ground and nodded at Harrier, "Yeah, your payment was the first thing I grabbed. As for everything else..." he glanced back at his packs, "Uh.. I'm not too sure. I just grabbed random stuff." he shrugged, looking back to his guide "Kind of in a hurry, right?"
He waved at Trinity as he approached, "Hey, it's fine. We're just early." He looked back to Harrier to answer her other questions. "Right. Uh, Wildfire. She's green with an orange mane, with a blue stripe. And she's a Pegasus. And she was flying, quickly at that, too." he turned to look at the forest, "So, if she is in there, she's probably not hear the entrance..."

"Horseapples," Harrier spat out before getting back to business. "Well if she was flying, she'd stay flying, so we're going to have to risk air travel," he said. She had been hoping he would be able to find an easy trail. There still would be a trail, but it would be a lot easier to mark on the ground. Not to mention anything that could fly or was big enough to catch something that could fly was a lot more dangerous. Several of Harrier's favorite ways to strike at beasts required them to not be able to catch her flying. Ah well, it was still doable, and she was getting paid good money for it. "Which direction was she heading, lad?" she asked, lifting herself off the ground a bit and looking off in the direction of the forest. "The closer you can get us to the direction she headed, the better a chance we have of findin' something." She decided not to ask for the bits for the time being; more important matters at stake here. "She was flyin' in a straight line, right? Most ponies I know tend to do that when they're upset."

"Yeah, she was defiantly flying straight. And fast." Cloudfall nodded as he raised into the air once more. He turned to glance back at Ponyville in the distance, using the tower to get his barrings as he tried to figuring out which direction Wild had flown in.
"I think she went..." he traced his hoof in the air, from the tower to the forest as slowly turnned. "That way." he pointed into the wood, off to the right from where they were currently. Then he quietly added, "...I think. It was dark at the time."

"Close enough fer me," Harrier said, flying up above the treetops to see if she could see anything. She wasn't much of a tracker, so she couldn't confirm anything, but she saw a few branches that might've been pushed down by the wind. Horseapples, she thought to herself, flying back down to the ground.
"Well, lad, I'm afraid the best shot we have is to fly in that direction ourselves," she said apologetically. "Hopefully we'll find a clearin'. Probably near the river; the trees thin out there. If she stopped," she said, pausing for effect. "It'd probably be there. If she didn't stop, well..." then they were probably dealing with a dragon, or something else big that flew and ate ponies, she thought to herself. She hoped it wouldn't come to that. Flying back up into the air, she turned back to the other pegasi. "Lads, the sooner we get started the more likely we are to find somethin'. I have what I need, so let's go."

Trinity quickly snapped to action and flew up beside harrier. "I'm set lets go Cloud." He said with a small smile. This mission could be dangerous. But all should be fine as long as Harrier was there with them. Now instead of worrying whats lurking upon them in the forest he could search with full attention knowing Harrier was probably looking out for their back. He worried for Cloud, what if we found her in a not so...'healthy' way. Finding her would be great but if she was dead that could be another issue all together.

"Right." Cloudfall nodded and followed after the other two pegasi. There was no turning back now, they were here and going in. For better or for worse. Cloud silently prayed to Celestia and Luna and whatever other names from history he could recall that the three of them wouldn't get eaten while on their search. And that Wild was still alive.

Once she was sure that the other pegasi were following her, Harrier started off at a reasonably fast pace. "I need you ponies to keep your eyes out," she called back. "For any signs of yer lass, and for anything that might be dangerous. One of you watch the canopy, one of you watch the skies, and both of you watch my flank," she ordered in a very no-nonsense tone. This would be a very bad time to question me, she thought, glancing at the sky again before returning to her scan for traces of a Pegasus passing.
Things weren't looking great. There were a few traces of something that might be a pegasus for her to follow, but they could just as easily be natural. Especially in this forest, of all places... could never predict anything, here; ponies had only been going into the forest more often recently, and there was still absolutely no control of the environment; it had become a breeding ground for monsters with the latest change. Soon they would reach the river, though, and if the green pegasus they were hunting had stopped there there would be more obvious traces of it.

Trinity Smiled "I only got two eyes but ill try." He attempted to lighten the mood. Mainly because he was so nervous about going into a place that has danger written all over it. "You ok Cloud?" He asked as he looked down at the forest below them making sure nothing was going to spring up and get them. "Harrier I've got the Canopy on watch." He said with a much more serious tone in his voice.

Cloudfall didn't reply to Trinity's question and stayed silent as he scanned the treetops below them. His line of thought was the same of Harrier's, that being that Wildfire would probably have landed in or near a clearing or an opening in the trees somewhere. That shouldn't be too hard to find...
Cloud raised his gaze to check the sky around them, hearing that Trinity had the canopy covered. He didn't see anything around then, but his sight lingered on Harrier, then on Trinity. Was it wrong to get them involved in this? Maybe he should have gone alone, that way if something were to happen, only he would have to pay for it, but now three ponies were in danger. He nickered as looked back to the forest. If he was stronger, he could have done this alone and spared Harrier and Trinity. If he was faster, he could have stopped Wildfire from coming here in the first place.

Harrier kept the group flying for some time, but she still hadn't caught anything that was really of note. She was beginning to think it would be better if they changed directions when suddenly she noticed something.
"Ho!" she said loudly, stopping midflight and telling the other two to do the same. She wantd to get a closer look at a tree branch. The thing was bent at a very very awkward angle... too steep to be natural, even in this forest. It still could be nothing, but it was better than the "signs" he'd been following lately.
Getting closer, Harrier managed a dry smile; it hadn't just almost been snapped by natural forces; there was a few strands of green pegasus down sticking loosely to the bark. Somepony had caught their leg here, most likely... Which would mean...
"Heads up you two, we're landing," She said, flying forward a bit, looking for other branches that should have been caught. There was a break in the trees, though; they were close enough to the river that the foliage was beginning to thin out. Still, there should be a few signs of where she landed...
"Some advice," she said, suddenly remembering that she wasn't alone. "Try to keep your hooves in the air. The less disturbance we make the better; if you have room to hover without scattering foliage do so." Following her own advice, Harrier beat her wings loosely, looking around before finally landing (Hard to fight while hovering).
She had landed hard, that much was obvious... the signs were old, but nothing had really worked to cover it over, so she could tell that much. Yea, and though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death... she thought grimly, looking around for more danger. "She came by this way," Harrier said just loud enough to hear them. "She'll have headed to the river, most likely."

Trinity hovered close to the ground as instructed. He looked around frantically searching for any creatures....Nothing. He stopped and turned to Harrier and whispered "What's the plan now?" He asked as he lightly landed on the ground. So far he was happy not to see a dead pony anywhere but still concerned that she was missing. Both good and bad...But where could she be?
