Trixie sat on her bed inside her new wagon. After the Ursa in Ponyvile destroyed her old show-wagon, she had to find a new one and was stuck with a junker rental. Aside from the bed, only one thing adorned the inside: A picture of Twilight Sparkle. "hmph.." Trixie pouted as she stared at the purple unicorn smiling back at her. "How can somepony like HER be better than ME?" She stood up and pressed a hoof to her chest when she addressed herself, smiling with a large show-grin. Her smile shrunk back into a frown, and her hoof dropped back to the wood floor of the wagon with a light thump. She sighed, accepting her situation. She sat back on the bed, chin in hoof. "Oh I just don't know what to do..." She mused as she looked around, as if hoping that an answer would pop out of thin air. Then her eyes centered on the picture of Twilight, and they lit up with a sudden idea. "maybe.." She shot up and gathered her hat and cape. "Maybe.. just maybe I can" She paused and gulped, "L-learn.. from her." She grabbed Twilight's picture and ran to the door.
Just as she was about to exit the room however, she noticed a grinning pony standing on the other side, grey coated, with various blue tatoos across his body, he smiled at her, "Hello!" He said enthusiastically. "My name's Watermark! I'm a magician like yourself," He said, pointing a hoof at his unicorn horn, "I'm very happy to finally meet the GREAT and POWERFUL Trixie!"
The unicorn mare slowly opened the door, examining him as she opened it. "well.. a heh.. Nice to know I still have fans.." Her ears drooped as she said the last few words, remembering her ruined reputation. She moved her focus back to Watermark, and she managed to put on her show-face (lol) to talk to him. "So.. What can the Great and POWERFUL Trixie do for you?" She said, as she used her magic to make her cape wave in the wind. "Autograph? Tricks? Simply being in my presence? What will it be?" She said, trying to move the encounter along as she had to reach Ponyville and Twilight before dark.
"Well, I would like to present to you my water magic, for your approval! I just KNOW if the GREAT and POWERFUL Trixie approves of my magic, it means that my master IS amazing indeed!" He said, stepping backwards, and indicating a small cart with several buckets of water.
Stepping backwards and bowing slightly, he pulled up to his hind legs and stomped the ground ferociously, causing the water to fly out of the buckets, spiraling towards him, and around him in a whirlpool, with a small twirl of his head, the water concentrated in a point above his head and exploded into five different streams, flying around him in several large circles, rising up to the air, and clashing again, this time falling down as raindrops, creating a muiltitude of different colored rainbows around him, and then growing into waterfalls in intensity, collecting in a small moat around his feet. Trixie was agape...she had never seen tricks such as these before. She tried to contain her amazement, intending to still provide a superior figure to the stallion.
The water then rose up, engulfing him, turning him into a large, watery pony form, which reared on its hind legs, tearing into the air before crashing down into a large formation on the ground, as the grey pony stepped back, she noticed it formed the shape of his cutie mark: A paintbrush dipped in water, the top of the brush connected to the puddle with a rainbow
"Where." She thought of the words for a second, staring at the water clone. "Where did you learn this type of magic?" She continued to stare at the watery figure, as she got up and circled it, admiring the work.
The unicorn laughed, then his ears drooped, "Is it... is it good enough? My master helped me with my magic... I was hoping you'd like it."
She lifted a hoof out to touch it, she halted herself and looked over to Watermark. "May I?"
"Sure!" The tattooed pony said.
She pressed her hoof on the watery surface, and it instantly went right through. She made a slight gasp at the lack of solid surface, but calmed down after, realizing it was just water. "this is..." She stopped her speech again, remembering to convey an image of superiority to the skilled stallion "...Interesting" she said as she swished her hoof around in the water. She drew her hoof out and faced the Watermark "Well, well, well. The Great and POWERFUL Trixie approves of your work, stallion!" She smiled at him coyly. "But remember, it will never be as great as the amazing feats of pony magic performed by The Great and POWERFUL Trixie!" She smiled widely at the sound of her show name.. She liked it, but it represented somepony she never was.
"Yes! I am so pleased, I must go tell my master! Oh... oh... will you come with me? Puh-leeeeze?" The striped unicorn begged, kneeling before her and holding his hooves in prayer, giving her the cutest pair of puppy dog eyes he could muster.

After seeing what talent this stallion possessed, and judging by his personality and somewhat simple-mindedness, she could only imagine what powers his master under their control. "Why sure, the Great and POWERFUL Trixie would be happy to meet a pony of equal skills!" Exaggerating her talents once again. She eagerly followed the unicorn, but remembered something. "Oh, please excuse the Great and Powerful Trixie, she seems to have forgotten something.." She ran back to the wagon and grabbed the picture of Twilight, folding it up and sticking it in an inside pocket in her cape. She galloped back out to Watermark. "Okay, now we can go." She said with a smile. "Let's go meet your master..."

"Marvelous!" The unicorn jumped to its hooves, starting to hop around as he led her deeper into the bogs, occasionally looking back with a sheepish grin at her, and humming to himself.
As they went further into the bog, the light became dimmer, as the trees around them became thicker, canopies effectively making the path almost too dark to navigate. Solid ground changed with marsh water. As they were passing a very large pit of bog a large group of bubbles surfaced. Watermark halted in place and sent it what Trixie could only describe as a harsh, out of character glare, and they silenced down. At which point he grinned back at her, and continued on.

The dimming light and denser trees lent itself well to the creepy atmosphere. Trixie had never been this far out of town, and the wicked grins from Watermark weren't helping very much either. But she continued, little shreds of optimism left to meet such a powerful pony. "Are you sure this is the right way- AH!" She shrieked as one of her hooves sank into a pit in the bog water. She pulled it back out and shook it off... "The Great and POWERFUL Trixie dislikes this place... Must we continue?" She said ahead to Watermark, who seemed to ignore her and continued to trot along. She regained her composure and trotted back up to Watermark. "Your master.. Why does he live in a creepy bog like this?"

Watermark smirked at her, "Because those with power must always hide from those who seek to take it a way from them, even in the most farthest reaches!" The pony explained, "Some ponies fear power too much to let other ponies have it, they will ridicule them, discourage them, and with no choice left, they might even chase them away!"
A small light illuminated the path ahead, and they reached, among the incredibly dark swamp, a large, wide, open area, it was but the entrance to a much larger complex, in the far off distance Trixie could see a large pyramid, illuminated by torches, and various ponies going about their work constructing.
But the most impressive sight, was that of a red stallion in silver armor, standing right at the entrance, smiling at them both serenely. Watermark Giggled, "Well, I'll leave you two to talk! Got lots of stuff to do! Come look me up later!" He said, giving the mare a tight hug before trotting off, to an approving nod by who Trixie could only assume was his master.

Trixie stood completely still, taking in all of the sight that was before her. She barely reacted at all to the hug from Watermark, but she gave him a weak smile in response. Then her eyes fell onto the crimson pony with the armor. She shook her head clear and trotted up to him. "The Great and Powerful Trixie demands to know, who are you and what is this place?" She gestured to the complex and pyramids as if the crimson stallion didn't know.

The red stallion smiled kindly at her, "It is alright Trixie, you are among friends, come, have a walk with me, I will explain it all." He gestured with a hoof at the entrance area to his domain, where the other ponies were working fervently.
"My name is Red Charge," He explained as they walked, "I am the leader of this group, and Watermark's master, as you've undoubtedly figured out by now." He said, giving her a pleasant smile, and allowing her to introduce herself properly.
His very presence was disarming, he simply radiated power and confidence, as though he could do no wrong. His intonations were soothing, and made her feel as though she was talking to an old, fond teacher, or maybe a favorite relative. However the air around him clearly gave off the impression that his boundaries were not to be crossed, this combination seemed almost unnatural.
His silver armor, she noticed, was decorated with various arcane forms and runes, things beyond her comprehension, it seemed almost ancient. As he passed the other ponies they all stopped to pay him respect, to the point of moving out of his way, or moving obstacles from it.
His golden eyes settled on Trixie's once more, awaiting her response.

How does he know my name? She thought to herself. But Nevertheless, Trixie straightened herself up, presenting the best figure she could muster. "I, am the Great and Powerful Trixie, the most skilled, attractive, and powerful magician in all of Equestria!" She gave a big smile and a haughty expression, trying to show off yet again. This garnered some stifled laughs and strange looks from the other ponies, which Trixie simply frowned at. She turned her attention back to Red. "From what I can see, you run this show." She stared into his eyes, captivated by how utterly calm and content he was. "But The Great and Powerful Trixie does have one question, what kind of a show is this? It seems sort of strange for a group of ponies such as yourself to be building, in such a remote place."

Red Charge smiled kindly at her once more, "I can agree with you about the attractive part," He winked at her, but strangely it did not seem at all suggestive, but rather a friendly compliment.
"We are a group of ponies, who have suffered an injustice, and seek to rectify a great injustice done long ago. We seek to bring the return of the most powerful creature to have ever walked Equestria, Eclipse." The stallion explained, "But unfortunately, many would seek to deny us this. I can make you a student of magic, Trixie, under Watermark. He is a master magician, and you can learn much from him, become more powerful, and maybe, if you become good enough, I will take you under my tutelage. What do you say?"
Though he did not explain much, and his offer seemed to pop out at random, it was obvious from his words that he has been observing Trixie, that she had been picked, especially. Perhaps because Red Charge saw the potential for her power. Watermark had never stated he was a master magician, but he hadn't lied either, but it was obvious now that it was by Red Charge's orders that he came to find the sorceress.
The only question was, would Trixie set aside her pride in front of the ponies who obviously see through her bluster, and become as powerful as she dreams? Or will she reject this opportunity, and go study with her hated enemy, the one who had outperformed her and humiliated her in front of the entire village of Ponyville?

She smiled at the wink as she let Red talk. But Trixie visibly flinched at the name. Eclipse. She had heard it before when she was a filly, and heard stories of a great evil, and a great power. She had to learn of this power. She had to know it, and possess it to become the greatest magician in all of Equestria. She slowly realized the reason why Watermark had come to find her, and enjoyed knowing that out of all the Unicorns in Equestria, they had picked her. But she didn't like the idea of training under Watermark, even if he was a kind unicorn. But she decided not to mention it. Ignoring her former plans to head to Ponyville, she made the decision to stay. "The Great and Powerful Trixie accepts your offer. Trixie said. "I wish to help you achieve your goal and learn to harness powerful magic." She continued to walk with red deeper into the complex.

Red Charge smiled at her again, "Remember, Watermark will evaluate you, and you will only get under me, once you've studied under him, now go on, you are free to explore our camp. Just make sure to go to watermark in the Red Mages compound so you can be brought to your quarters. I myself have a meeting to attend shortly." The stallion stomped a hoof shortly against the ground, and the closest pony quickly trotted up to escort the newest member of the Cult. "Enjoy your stay dear." The red stallion said, walking off regally, yet somehow not condescendingly.
