Rose looked around as she dragged the cart behind her. She was sure that the library was well stocked, but these books, these books were special. Some of them were from her old home, others were more recent acquisitions. This was going to be really, really easy for her. All she had to do was take care of the library, keep an eye on the town, and speak to anyone interested in joining the cult. In exchange, she got access to legends and lore that even the Royal Library couldn't match. "Yep, easy cheesy." she mumbled to herself, stopping in front of the locked door. She levitated the key out of the cart and put it in the lock. The door clicked open happily, and she took the cart inside, closing, but not locking the door. She couldn't, really, it was the library as well as her new home.
She looked around, a little disappointed by what she saw. She hadn't been expecting anything like the Royal Library, but Ponyville had more than this. Only one shelf was completely full, and the entire library had an unused feeling to it. Dust had gathered on several of the fixtures, and spiders had even spun their webs here and there. She picked up a broom with her magic, swatting at the nearest one. "Okay. A little fixing up, no problem..."
Over the next few hours, she swept out the room and cleared the dust and cobwebs. Once that was done and the windows were opened, the library perked up a little bit. She then turned her attention to shelving a number of the books she brought with her, and sorting what she had. The book that she got from the cult, along with a couple other books, went upstairs into her bedroom. It was well into the afternoon before she was finished, slightly out of breath but in a better looking library.

When she heard there was a new pony moving into the new library, she felt herself getting excited for the first time in a long while. An addition to the community! She wondered what this pony saw in this place, for she too wasn't native to this town.
If only she came earlier to help - but she was feeling unusually tired for the past two weeks. She just couldn't leave the clinic without getting exhausted. Her teas and herbs helped, but she noticed her decline in health all the same. And not only her muscles ached anymore - her short-memory was slipping. Of course, she was always a little scatter-brained, but it had been getting worse, lately... Misplacing herbs, forgetting her recipes, whole days blurred together. Something had to be done.
But first, to welcome the new pony. She slowly opened the door to the library, a tray balancing on her back. She made sure not to spill a drop of her famous dandelion leaf tea.
"Ah! You're done moving in! I'm sorry I didn't come sooner. Welcome to Hoofington." She smiled apologetically, saying, "I made some tea - you must be exhausted..."
Wow, she got a lot done today. The library looks so comfortable.
Silver Pine entered, closing the door behind her with her back-hood. "I'm Silver Pine, the general physician at the clinic nearby. What's your name?"

Just as Mystic Rose had finished the majority of her work, the door opened. She set the broom down and turned around with a quick, albeit dusty, smile. "Welcome!" she said quickly, before the pony had a chance to talk. She nodded at her greeting, spotting the tea tray on the earth pony's back. She never understood how anypony managed without magic! "Yep, I got everything put in it's place and ready to go." she said with false brightness as she levitated the tea tray over to a table carefully. "It's okay, really, I work quicker alone." Very true, she preferred to be alone most of the time, and had wondered if she would be able to put up with everypony coming in. But she figured, they'd want to find and talk about books for the most part, and that was one topic she could go on and on about. And if they were looking for the cult? Well, that wouldn't take too long, and perhaps they would have some answers for her, as well.
Shaking herself out of her reverie, she responded to Silver Pines question. "Oh! Rose, Mystic Rose. And thank you for the tea." she offered, remembering her manners. She turned back to the tray, asking "Shall I pour us some?" May as well be a good host, since this pony put so much effort into her tea, and bringing it up here.

When the unicorn lifted the tray off of Silver's back, she sighed in relief. To be honest, that tray was heavier than it seemed. She almost didn't make it to the library, being so unbalanced and all. But the magic made it look easy. She felt a twinge of envy - unicorns could do so many useful things. From her experience working under the unicorns of Canterlot Hospital, she had much respect for unicorn magic. And yet... And yet...
Just then, Silver noticed that Rose asked her a question. She had zoned off for a few seconds, it seemed... Not surprising...
"Ah! Yes, you may, dear. I made you some dandelion leaf tea, my specialty. They have many vitamins and minerals... And, according to some stories, they're enhance your psychic abilities."

The teapot shimmered with a light pink glow as Mystic Rose lifted it with her magic, pouring out the tea carefully. Truth be told, she actually wasn't all that fond of tea, herself. There were a few other hot beverages she would drink, but she found tea rather bland. As such, she wasn't sure if she was pouring the tea correctly. It was very important, despite her own feelings, to try and make a good impression on everypony here.
"Really?" she asked with what she figured was decent interest. "Well, I'm glad you...stopped by with it, and to introduce yourself." She gave the tea a taste, managing to suppress a shudder. Ick... "It's really good!"

Silver smiled. "Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it." She sipped at her own cup, happily making a mental note to bring some more tea next time for Rose to taste. And besides, Rose might want company. The tea warmed her up again, and she sighed. She didn't realize how cold she was, even when she let her coat grow a little longer...
"Feel free to come by the clinic if you want to prevent problems, or if you have one already..."
