Cars passed along Saddleback Street, where shops and apartments lined up in rows. One of them was built with dark red brick and a large whimsical sign hung inches above the glass door. 'The Bean Cafe', it read, with a picture of a giant cup of coffee placed next to it. It was welcome and inviting, and it looked like the cafe had been there for a while.
A tan pony with chocolate brown mane trotted over the see-through door from the inside, flipping a little sign that said 'Closed' to 'Open' with a nudge of a nose. Then turned back to return to her business.
Upon entering, the place was set up in the most comfortable way possible and the air smelled of freshly ground coffee. Brown, polished coffee tables were placed here and there, with red and purple cushions for seats. The wall paper was a deep shade of maroon and the floor was clean, crisp wood. At the counter, there was a glass jar that read 'TIPS', which contained a small amount of bits inside. Next to the counter was a splendid selection of pastries, both sweet and savory, that would suit your taste buds.
The tanish-peach pony was nowhere to be seen though. She's probably in the kitchen.

Klepto walked along the sidewalks bordering the various buildings of the city. Manehattan was a bigger city than he was used to. Much bigger. But bigger also meant more opportunity, and less of a chance of being noticed. He had spent the previous night "scouting", just trying to get a feel for the city. This mostly involved just wandering around, having no idea where he was, but he had brought a map with him. He just hadn't bothered pulling it out yet.
He was tired of wandering around for so long. Tired of walking. He just wanted a place where he could sit down for the time being. Somewhere he could rest his hooves. Klepto looked up to see a quaint, little, red-bricked cafe with a large sign hanging in front of it. "Good enough," Klepto thought to himself before entering the building.
The first thing he noticed was the small jar of tips sitting on the counter, and the fact that no one was there to watch it. "They should really not leave that thing lying out. Someone might steal it," he thought, quietly chuckling to himself. He knew the small amount of bits in the jar wasn't worth the effort, however. He had bigger fish to fry... he just needed to find those fish first.
Klepto took a seat by a window, staring out at the street and all of the ponies walking to and fro.

Nightwind was walking around the streets, enjoying the sights of his new home. He walked around the corner, where he saw an older building, which seemed to be a coffee shop. I could go for a cup. walking in, he saw that the shop seemed fairly empty, with only one customer inside. "Hello, I'm Nightwind. Do you know if the coffee here is good?
