Spitfire swept through the sky. She plummeted through the clouds with dexterity and utmost speed. Twisting and turning, spinning and glide. The fresh air of the wild outdoors whisked through hair mane. She felt free. She felt more alive than ever. Performing in stadiums with the fellow Wonderbolts was great and all, but nothing compared to flying in solitude, performing imperfect moves without a choreography and without a care in the world.
This feel of freedom must have faltered her attention, though, because soon enough she found herself disoriented and spinning out of control. This embarrassing episode concluded with a thud as she found herself on the ground. 'Ow...' she grumbled. Her back legs were agony and her wings were limply splayed across the floor. There was no feeling in them. She struggled to her feet again, with determination this time, but found herself collapsing. 'For the love of- owwwch...' How was she supposed to perform at Manehattan later this week if she was injured?
One...last...time... she lifted herself up, but her efforts were just proven futile. All she could do was stay on the ground.

The day was turning out to be a crisp and clear one. This pleased Fluttershy as she enjoyed the occasional stroll outdoors. Sure, she could always fly, but it was so dangerous! Yes, much better to stay on foot and check in with any of her animal friends that might also be wandering around. There had been a few birds out today at the birdfeeders she kept by her home, she had brought them out some special suet and had sung with two very happy blue jays.
Her gaze wandered upward as she trotted further away from her cottage, and Fluttershy noticed something large fall from the sky.
"Oh no!" She cried, thinking it was one of her larger bird friends. It was so hard to judge size at this distance, but she thought it might be an unusually large hawk or eagle. Bringing her trot to a canter and then a full gallop, she raced toward where she thought the creature had fallen. It was a short distance, and she soon found herself in a small field.
Instead of a bird, Fluttershy discovered another pegasus flopped on the ground. This one was rather flashy looking, with a fire colored mane and tail. She looked somewhat familiar, but Fluttershy couldn't place it in her mind. Normally, Fluttershy would never have approached a stranger, but this pony looked to be in some distress, and Fluttershy couldn't just walk away from an injured pony. Cautiously, she approached.
"Uhm. Hello there... are you all right?" She asked. Her voice was very quiet, but it carried in the still air to the other pony.

'Well, hi there,' Spitfire greeted the shy pegasus with a smile. This pink-maned pony spoke softly and sweetly, and her general approach was very gentle. It was nice to be in such a calmer environment instead of being overwhelmed by fans. And this pony's kindness seemed genuine, Spitfire didn't think that she recognized her, and this pony was being nice for the sake of doing something good instead of sucking up to her.
'I could say I'm alright, but that would be lying,' laughed Spitfire. 'But it's just a small flight accident, nothing major... I hope.' The mare fidgeted, but this was painful and she cringed. She tried to move her limp wings. She had some control over the right one, but the left one was motionless. 'Would it be too much to ask for a little help here? Eheh heh...'

"Oh, you poor thing!" As soon as Fluttershy saw the extent of the damage, and this poor pony's limp wings she went into instant nurse mode. Never mind that this was a strange pegasus she had never met before, they were obviously in a lot of pain.
Moving in closer, Fluttershy examined Spitfire's wings carefully top to bottom, then her back legs and gave a relieved smile.
"I'm afraid you may have a light sprain in your left wing, and you may have strained some muscles in your legs too. You're pretty lucky, falling from that high up you might have broken something..." Fluttershy trailed off for a moment as she looked the right wing over more carefully, "You're other wing looks like it's just bruised a bit. Here- let me help you up, my house is only a short walk away, if you'd like, I can bandage you up there in some splints." She knelt beside Spitfire so as to allow the pegasus the use of Fluttershy's back to lift herself up.
"I'll help you walk there." Fluttershy said calmly and soothingly, for all the world like she was talking to one of her larger bird friends.

Nothing was broken! Huzzah! Spitfire heaved a sigh of relief at that news. Her exterior was still very calm due to her injuries, but a spark lit up inside her. The damage wasn't too severe, and hopefully it would heal up quickly. She didn't have much knowledge on medical specifics, though. Her judgement was just based on prediction.
'Thanks so much,' grinned Spitfire as this pegasus offered to help her walk back to her house where she could fix her up. She had a lot of respect for this pony, to help a stranger. Spitfire knew that she would be slightly hesitant to just help out somepony she'd never met before. She didn't have the capacity to be able to sympathize with just anyone.
She leant on this pony as she helped her to her feet. She wasn't the most balanced or graceful, but she was standing and that was what mattered. 'Say.. what's your name?'

"You are very welcome." Fluttershy said sweetly.
Ponies were a little heavier than most of the animals that Fluttershy usually dealt with, and she struggled a bit to help the fallen pegasus up. Not being a very strong pony herself, she thought longingly of Applejack's pure strength, or Twilight's resourceful spells. Oh well, she'd have to do the best she could and help keep this hurt pony on her hooves!
"My... my name?" Fluttershy quailed under the question, it was all well and good when she was playing nurse. But having a conversation, or even just exchanging small talk was a different matter all together. Never mind the simple yet scary fact that she was dealing with someone she had never met before. What if she said something this pony didn't like and upset her? Fluttershy would hate to cause a conflict. But that was silly- it was just her name after all. After a few deep breaths, she managed to get it out:
"F-Fluttershy, I'm Fluttershy." Then, remembering that it was rude not to continue, she managed a question of her own, "And if you don't mind my asking, what's your name?"
There! Not very original. But it was better then nothing.

Spitfire helped as much as she could as Fluttershy aided her in standing. She felt her struggle a bit, so she moved her legs to the best of her ability. When balance was acquired, she stepped away to stand on her own. It worked for a few seconds, but she quickly stumbled slightly to the side, and then leant back on Fluttershy.
Her name, Fluttershy. It suited her. But she seemed so anxious as Spitfire tried to make light conversation. She was obviously not the most confident of ponies, proved by her hesitance before answering the question. Spitfire didn't want the conversation to grow into something bigger and even more awkward, but they were just exchanging names, what harm could that do?
Spitfire didn't have much experience when it came to dealing with shy ponies, most of her social life was spent talking with her fellow Wonderbolts - which were mostly loud and confident pegasi (and some with egos to match), or other famous ponies. Not often normal residents of Equestria. Sure, there was bliss in the fact of being unrecognized, but there was also this confusion. Did she just say her name and leave it at that? Fluttershy was obviously not too keen on dragging out a fully-fleshed conversation, so that seemed to be the best thing to do.
'My name's Spitfire,' said the yellow pegasus.
