Ambrosios sat quietly, waiting, watching as the room began to populate with Triad members filling the space in front of the platform. This was the big day, when Tempest would announce his and Ceana's accomplishments. They had magic. The Tempest Triad now had magic, a critical tool with which to fight the Necrolord and his undead underlings. And it only cost them a few good griffons.
And then there was Ceana, now (supposedly) possessed by an ancient griffon of great magic power. Supposedly. He'd stopped trying to sort out that mess; the only thing it wrought was embarassment and emotional distress. He had his priorities as aligned as they'd need to be, and that was good enough. More then good enough.
He glanced over at Ceana's empty seat before turning his gaze back to the audience, watching more and more griffons appear. Idly, he began trying to pick out faces he hadn't seen before, then tried to discern which ones were new blood. Yes; yes; no; maybe.

This was a strange situation, not just for Ambrosios, but for everyone. He could tell everyone in the headquarters was unsure of what was going on. The entire organization had never actually... well, 'met'. It worked on an operator system, where each agent only knew their own team leaders, who knew their commanders, and so on. Most didn't even know who else was on their team, let alone the entire command chain. It was hard to imagine what in the world drove her to actually have everyone meet together here, not even taking a precaution of having them put on masks.
But even more surprising, was the fact that this meeting was not taking place in a conference room, or some abandoned graveyard, no this was taking place in the hangar. All of the airships were moved to the sides of the cave, the natural skylight was shining down on the center of it, where Ambrosios, Ceana and Tempest were, as well as Tempest's other commanders. Ambrosios could tell none of the actual commanders were recognizable people, which was clever. He recognized some of the clans they were part of, but it seemed like clan really had very little effect in the Triad.
Of course in the end, nothing he saw among the commanders could ready Ambrosios for what came next, literally thousands of griffons poured into the hangar over the next couple of hours, how big was the Triad? The hangar was filling up to zero space, has Tempest really been able to gather so many? Not just any griffons too, Ambrosios recognized professors, military captains, a couple of former admirals and council members... Everyone was just as shocked as he was to find out who was part of the Triad. No one had ever anticipated such large numbers. This wasn't just a criminal organization, as the Government thought, no, this was, in all truth as Tempest claimed it to be, it was a movement. A very powerful movement.
The last griffon to join was clad in armor unlike anything Ambrosios has ever seen and yet at the same time he remained in the shadows, denying those present a good look at him. It was obvious to most, Ambrosios included, that he was from the 7th Griffon Fleet... but what did this mean? Was he a representative of the whole fleet? Or just a member?
Ceana placed a reassuring talon on Ambrosios' knee as Tempest marched over to where they were sitting. The last time Ambrosios saw her, she seemed a vile, criminal, a murderer but now... she was an idealist, a leader, bringing together so many griffons from all over the nation... surely if so many people, some of them so high ranking supported her... she couldn't be wrong, could she?
The Fleetbolt griffon practically beamed with pride at the two of them, "Are you two ready for your big moment?" She asked, looking straight into Ambrosios' eyes.

Ambrosios quietly quietly examined the 7th Fleet Griffon, studying his shadowy outlines until Ceana interrupted the exercise. He turned towards his superior and compatriot, giving her a warm, excited smile. Then he turned to watch Tempest's approach, staying silent until he was spoken to.
"Absolutely," was his precise reply. He glanced over at Ceana, awaiting her confirmation before taking further action. This was a tremendous occasion, though the presence of so many Triad griffons already indicated that. Today would mark the future of the Triad, as well as his place within it. And to Ambrosios, that was everying. ...almost everything.
"Almost," he thought, moving his own talons to rest over Ceana's.

The golden feathered griffoness gave the two a wide smile, "Why, aren't you two adorable. I'm proud of you both. Now then, we've got a captive audience waiting for a speech, so let's get it going." Tempest's eyes flashed with excitement, then she turned to the audience and silence fell almost instantly.
"My dear brothers and sisters, I can't tell you how it touches my heart, to see you all finally gathered here together. Fleetbolt, Redtalon, Stonebeak, Goldfeathers, we've got griffons from every corner of the world. In every fleet, in every griffon town across the map." The grifoness said loudly, excitedly. "You look at each other and you see advisors to ministers, you see captains and majors, inventors and armorers... every one in this hall is one of the best of their generation. I know a lot of you had your doubts for a long time, thinking we were just a small time mob, maybe I was overselling us? But now you know, for a certainty. We stand together against the threat the Necrolord poses. No more will we let the Necropolis terrorize our people." Tempest cried, spreading her arms and wings wide.
"For years we have been digging up any griffon assets from their graves, burning them in our incendiaries and taking away from the undead menace. But is it enough? No. It's not. It will never be. You can't dig up every single skeleton and body across a land of so many wars and expect victory. No, but when they come, they won't be coming by surprise. They won't be pulling our legs from under us. They'll be forced to march! And none of you forget, that we made the dead march with our determination!"
The crowd roars in approval at their leader, whose beak stretched into a wide smirk.
"I can safely tell you, more and more allies are waking up and offering their aid to our cause and we are coming closer and closer to the day where we will be able to stand united against the Necropolis. So you're wondering, I bet, did I call you here just to tell you this? Just a little morale boost before the next winter? No. I called to share with you our latest achievement."
Ceana takes her cue and stands up, approaching the edge of the stage. Tempest remained silent, letting it sink in. Griffons in the crowd seemed confused, the buzz of mumbling rang throughout the hall.
"What're we looking at?" A former admiral called, which is exactly what Tempest was waiting for.
"You're looking at the first griffon ever to wield magic."
At that Ceana raised her talons and immediately fire and lightning danced above the heads of those present, causing them all to cower in fear.
When the display was over, there was dead silence, so much so that no one was even breathing. Everyone was shellshocked, still digesting what they just witnessed.
Then a slow clap, the griffon at the edge of the room, in the shadow, the one from Hyems' fleet, slowly clapping his hands. Everyone looked at him for a moment, before starting to applaud in a frenzy, cheering and chanting and calling. In his whole life Ambrosios has never seen a crowd so invigorated and inflamed.
Tempest held her arms out, as though conducting the cheers, whistles, chants and applauds.
"Where there is one, there will soon be another." Tempest said, "But for now, I wanted you to hear first hand from the two griffons who made this possible. I present to you, Ceana and Ambrosios!"
More cheers, as Ceana calls Ambrosios up to the mic.
"The stage is yours, Ambrosios, have at it." Tempest said, putting her talons on his and Ceana's shoulders in a very motherly fashion.

Ambrosios blinked, suddenly very unsure of what he wanted to say. He'd never considered himself much of an orator; and the thought of giving an impromptu speech to such a large assembly had never occurred to him. Surely Tempest was going to do all the talking...
Well... nothing to do now but wing it.
"Thank you, Tempest." Well that was a start...
"Fellow Triad members... we stand here united against an unparalleled evil. Others cannot or will not take such a stand. But we are different. Each one of us has dedicated our whole selves to combating this evil, not for our own good but for the good of our entire world. Even when all is perilous and dark, we choose to fight. We choose not to falter or cower but to force our enemy into battle. Our world is not for the taking. If the Necrolord wants it, he will have to get through us; and as all of you know, we are not ones to give it up easy."
"In the shadow of this colossal task now shines a new light. With this new achievement, made possible only by the ultimate sacrifice of some of our finest members, we now stand more ready than ever when the time comes to take on the Necrolord. This achievement marks not an end nor beginning, but another victory in our quest to save our world. There will be more to come, and when the time for ultimate victory or defeat comes at hand, the odds will be ever the more in our favor."
"Regardless of the outcome, I proud to serve with you all. A finer selection of individuals, griffon or otherwise, could not be found on this earth."
"Thank you."
