Blau, expressionless as his bird-derp face always was, flew to Ciniki's head and landed on top of it, to then turn his incredibly articulate parrot neck to stare at one of Ciniki's eyes, and with his old-macho voice asked once again. "I asked you what you were up to"
Lilly, of course wanting to live all the drama from the first lines, flew alongside the ship and landed a few meters from Ciniki and the flames. She saw the bow held by her hooves, so just to be sure she slowly lowered her hoof to her belt and with the sound of a soft "click" as her magnet-horseshoe attached to one of her katana. After checking she could defend herself, she walked a bit closer. "So what have you gotten Blau? who's this? are there marshmallows in the cart she left over there?" She couldn't help but smirking at the vessels' corpse as she stared at it. Fire, just like her soul that constantly burned for fun and adventure, spread over the boiling dessert, as if it wanted to show everybody how dangerous it was to try and tame the heat of the sand-lands. Whenever she looked at fires huge like this one it was as if she was staring at a mirror.
The rest of the crew, including Auburn from the ship's internal gear, who was looking through a window, stared down to the zebra as well, ready to their captain's next order.

Ciniki looked at the bird again and blinked shocked again for a moment before replying "shooting the breeze with a bird rather than saving my hide what about you?" She purposely replied with a bit of sarcasm to the bird. She had never been questioned by a bird and didn't feel she needed to explain herself to it. It was after all a bird she's trapped and killed plenty of the things back home. Oh home felt like heaven right now. At least it was a bit more predictable then this griffon place.
Returning her attention to the real threats she watched the ship again only this time something was flying beside it. As the pony descended to the ground beside her she watched carefully and when the pony referred to the bird on her as Blau she assumed it was with her. The metallic clang of horseshoe on a weapon only made her more uncomfortable. "Who might you be stranger? I sense an overwhelming amount of danger." Keeping with the Zebra stereotypical rhyming seemed like a good idea to her for the time being.

Blau, with out turning his gaze away from Ciniki, answered the colorful mare: "She's shooting to the breeze with a bird I haven't located yet" Lilly giggled "Ok Blau, I'll keep the interrogation from now on" Though even after being told his job was done, the parrot didn't took his stare or body away from Ciniki's forehead. Lilly took his hoof off her sword and heard Ciniki's question, smiling a bit more. "Woah you rhyme and everything! You should really take advice from this girl, Ondinea" she exclaimed as she walked a bit towards Ciniki "Well I might be Lilly Cheese, the captain of the ship that you can see here. Most of the others are my crew, and this guy is Gal Featherman who-" "Feathermain!" more than one of the crew-mates yelled to their captain's mispronunciation. "Whatever, Sir Weird-named-griffon who is a stranger to us too. Now to the important matter, are there marshmallows in that cart you left over there? I don't want to waste this fire" she said looking hungrily at the flames. "Captain..." Auburn said, being the closest one to her. "Yeah? what? hey check our ship doesn't catch fire" she said as she pointed to one of the lower sails that was getting dangerously close to the fire. "The water capt-! wait what?!" he ran to the magnets again, taking the ship back a meter or so and stopping it's movement. "Oh yeah! do you know where to find water, zebra? I need to know about the marshmallows first though" Lilly asked, not sure yet if to trust the thing in the horizon Feathermain had told them to follow.

Ciniki shook hear head a little to give the bird a nice little ride before laughing at this less threatening group of pirates. "I thought you all to be a threat, that is until we met." She removed the arrow from the string and replaced it in her qiver and laced her bow lovingly across her back. "This Feathmain fellow is he rather calm and mellow? I have heard story's of griffons gone made, it usually ends rather sad." She was running out of good rhymes hopefully she could keep it up! Things seemed to go rather well for the moment especially when dealing with ponies rather than giant bird like creatures.
"As to your questions of puffy sweets I think you'll enjoy a rather nice treat." She turned and started walking back towards her cart. "Meanwhile if it's hydration the others seek I believe there may be some over that peak." Ciniki pointed her hoof way out to the distance to a far off mountain. As with most deserts, mountains tend to block all rainfall from entering and it pools there. "Are you comfortable little Blau or would you rather return to your friend now?" Ciniki looked up trying to see the little bird balanced on her head.

Feathermain scoffed as the zebra asked about further payment, “Why, what’s wrong with these shiny things! I stand to reason they are a perfectly reasonable payment for services rendered, far better than what you’ll get out here.” He retorted as he vaulted over the side, landing less than graceful into the sand, but as quick as he fell, he was back up as if his feathers and coat weren’t now coated with sand and a single, half dead scorpion which hung loosely from the medal it had been skewered upon. “And as for the threat, I’ll make the call on that around here.” He piqued proudly as he shuffled through the sand to meet up with the other two, “Sir Feathermain, as you’ve already been told and I, repeating so that my name may cement itself in your primitive, uncultured grey-matter – that being your brain, as your kind so commonly eat!” Then he paused and pondered, “Or… is that the pygmy Quokkas? Terrible creatures they are, constant smile of delight plastered across their face even as they gnawed straight into your skull – happened to me twice, thankfully my moxie was too much for them to digest, killing the entire tribe and allowing me to escape. You’d think they’d learn after the first time, but they are a simple creature compared to a specimen such as I!” He boasted, posed elegantly as he gazed skyward, eyes firmly fixed upon the smoldering sun.
Feathermain remained like this for several long moments, until Ciniki spoke up about the oasis. “Ha-ho!” He said as he snapped back into reality, “I told you there was water just at the horizon, no need to doubt my navigation skills. I found this spot after all, and if I had a flag, I’d claim it for the great Griffon Kingd- Eh… Empi… uhh, well bugger all. I’m not sure at all what we’re calling ourselves lately. To think, you lose one king and suddenly everything goes all topsy-turvy.” He shrugged it off as he waved his talon as if forgetting the idea was ever there, “So yes, we best be off for that body of refreshment, hopefully they have something more enticing than water…”

Lilly followed Ciniki (who still had a creepy blue parrot on her head) to the cart, hoping to get the marshmallows before the fire of the vessel died. She listened to Feathermain's reclamations though, and turned her head to him as she kept walking to the cart. "Well I guess where just going to the shiny place, I think we are fast enough to get there or to the mountain in case there was nothing in there before we run out of water, right guys?" Ondinea smiled "I think so, Captain. As long as you don't keep on drinking a liter of it every minute" Lunar grumbled and rested herself over the helm "Can we get going now?" "NOT UNTIL I GET MARSHMALLOWS!" Lilly yelled exited as Ciniki finally opened her cart and she flew right to her side.
Shadowstrike took his cigar off his mouth again "And who are we taking? are we actually going to be taxis?" Zolunni walked to the border of the ship to get a better image of Ciniki "I guess Feathermain is coming, but I'm not sure what will happen with the zebra. Cap will want to dragg her if she agrees to give us whatever kind of food she has got in that cart"

Ciniki laughed at Feathermain under her breath for his ever so graceful dismount then rolled her eyes in response to his comment about a threat. He still didn't seem to pose much a threat. AS she walked toward the cart she looked up trying to see the bird on her head, she was starting to enjoy the company of the little guy on her head. When Feathermain insisted upon repeating his name, yet again, topping it off with an insult Ciniki replied "Well Feathermain you under estimate my wits, and soon i hope your insulting nature finds you an outcome which your personality fits." Now her rhymes were starting to not make much sense. Get it together Ciniki! "I will repeat my name to get it through that thick skull you bear, my name is Ciniki and I am more intelligent than you are aware."
After pulling out a bag of puffy treats from her cart and handing them to the Captain she looked back to the ship noticing she held the attention of a few. What had they never seen a Zebra before? Sitting on the ground she reached her hoof up to tickle the birds side playfully. "Enjoy your puffy treats, i'll wait here and have a seat". Okay this was getting annoying. "In truth I don't normally rhyme I just wanted to see how it felt." She laughed softly and leaned over to whisper to the Captain "In actuality I only did it to tease the feathered freak. I could try to keep it going if you find it enjoyable."

“If that outcome is adventure, fame and glory, then by all means, let it be so!” Feathermain boasted in reply to the zebra’s retort, his voice resonating with insufferable pride. “In fact, it already is that, what fantastic fortune it is to be me.” He then pointed to his pith-helmet, “Intelligent, you may claim, but I’m the one with the fancy hat and these medals,” Pointing to the ones adorning his chest, it was then he noticed the scorpion pinned atop one. "Well I'm gobsmacked, look here, I've seem to have acquired another. What simpleton could have more medals than they knew of? There's your proof, you can’t argue with that logic – it’s science"
Feathermain turned his attention to Lilly, “Fear not, I happen to know that drinking the blood of an herbivore or fish can quench your thirst in a tight situation,” He then motioned with a talon to Ciniki and Lilly, then glanced back to her ship. “Hmm, well I count plenty of perfectly drinkable creatures here, no fish though. Captain Lilly, do you have any fish on board, a Kelpie would suffice in a pinch.” With a humph and a quick wetting of his beak with a sweep of his tongue, Feathermain once more turned his attention to the other two, though cocked his head curiously, “I heard that, now that’s not a very nice thing to say about the Captain’s bird, it may be a little peculiar, but that was just uncalled far. Captain, perhaps we should get going before any more undue insults are thrown about all willy-nilly.” He then rummaged through his coat pocket and tossed Ciniki a tiny bag of shiny glass beads, "And do continue with that most delightful rhyming."

Lilly, with her mouth filled of marshmallows, started to clap joyfully to Feathermain's last sentence. "YEF PFLEAF!! Keepf rimeng!" then she took out one of her katana and crossed several marshmallows with it, to then put it over the fire. Pochze, Indigo, LJ and Penumbra also jumped from the ship to toss some of the sweets into their mouths. Pochze found Feathermain's idea fabulous "So who will be the first in line for blood drinking? Does anybody know if blood mixes well with cider?" Lilly turned to Pochze with an unamused look "You aren't going to drink my last barrel of cider and we're not gonna drink blood Freather-guy, that's pretty dangerous and hard to clean up most of the time." Lilly threw another roasted marshmallow to her mouth, and as the bag of the sweets soon emptied, she helped her non flying crew-mates to get back to the ship.
"Gil-guy, get your scientific butt up here if you still want to come!" Then she turned to Ciniki "You should come too if you need to supply in water, that you should totally do since this is the motherfudging desert and you can't ever be sure when will you get chance to refill next" Auburn and LJ went to their places as the rest started to open the sails again, starting to lift up the airship, hopefully able to travel with out interruptions to the supposed oasis.

The scorpion dangling from Feathermains medals looked grotesque and mangled, yet he wanted to wear it like a medal? The idea of Blood drinking sounded very unappealing to Ciniki just as much as the idea of eating the scorpion. What on earth do these feathered bird like things have against sanity! Almost everything this Feathermain spat from his beak seemed absolutely ridiculous. Ciniki caught the bag of beads that Feathermain threw and rolled her eyes. There was no winning against him as far as she could tell. She'll have to just roll with it. The sight of a Pegasus stuffing her face with puffy marshmallows and bellowing out make Ciniki chuckle. "Alright I will continue my playful rhymes just give me some time." Hopefully she could keep it up both of them rather seemed to enjoy it.
Looking back at her cart which lacked all supplies of water minus a few drops in her canteen she decided that Lilly's thoughts on her water supplying needs were correct. "I would happily join you to the water, I could use some in the next town to barter. How will I get up to your ship I hope you can provide a few tips?" Looking back at Feathermain she cast a wary eye and bade him a warning "Trust me my feathered friend if you try to drink my blood you'll end up sicker than and a kelpie with the bends." That ought to get her point across..maybe...

Lilly looked at the cart "Well duh, we can tie it. Shadow! Zolunni!" "But-" before Shadowstrike could even start discussing, an assassin stare from his Captain was enough to shut him down, making Zolunni laugh. "Aye Captain!" both took a bunch of those incredibly thick ropes all ships need to have in big amounts, and pulled the little cart next to the ship. Once there, they tied several ropes through and across it, making sure it'd hold it at least until they arrived to the first stop. Then Zolunni took Ciniki, making sure his talons didn't hurt her, and left her on the deck. "Ta-da!" Lilly said as she and Feathermain got on "All ready~" "On the stupid desert bus" Shadowstrike said as he also landed. By the screams of his nakama and the signals of Lunar, Auburn finally let the ship fly several meters from the floor and settled it's course to the desired spot.

Watching the crew just simply tie her cart up to the side of the ship made her kind of uneasy. That cart was everything she had at the time. "I hope the damage to my cart will be minimal, the preservation of whats inside is critical." Then, before she could protest, Ciniki was grabbed and lifted into the air, being in the air with no ground beneath her hooves was not one of Cinikis favorite situations. Let alone being picked up by a creature she had little knowledge or experience with. Ciniki cried out in shock and looked up at the griffon flying her onto the ship and shot him a glare "Maybe tell the person you're about to lift, otherwise you may get hit."
Once she was safely returned to a hard surface Ciniki shook out the chill in her spine and walked to the edge looking down at her cart. She had only been on a ship once before and that was on the way from the Zebra territory to the griffon territory, so she was still a little awe struck at the sight of a ship. She looked around admiring the great lengths of rope and seemingly enormous straights of wood high above her head like naked trees. "You're ship is very majestic, almost kind of rustic." Ciniki kicked the deck of the ship with her rear hoof to hear the thunk-thunk from the sturdy wood.

As Zolunni heard Ciniki's complains he couldn't help but laugh. "The lil zebra is so cute! Can I keep 'er, Capitana? Quetzalcoátl and her would be really good friends!" He said as his snake pet climbed back to his neck. "No more pets for you, Zolunni! you can't even clean the mess Quetza makes, and you want more?" Lilly said in a serious tone, making sure Zolunni left his weird idea, then she turned to the newcomers "Thanks! Now, stories, I want stories! who will start?" she said as she sat down, staring at Ciniki and Feathermain as the airship started to gain speed.

Deciding that this was her only chance to speak before the feathered voice box piped up, Ciniki started "I'll tell ya a story but I won't be rhyming the whole time." Taking a seat in front of Lilly providing enough space for others if they wanted to hear her story. "I'll tell you the story of the time I was almost killed by one of the most feared Zebra killers on the Savannah. The ferocious gbahli." Pausing for a moment to loom back at Feathermain and continuing before he could pipe up.
"It started at most jungle mornings do on the Savannah. Rainy and damp everywhere. I needed to do my routine trap check which I began. I grabbed my bow and my quiver of arrows and headed deep into the heart of the jungle. The trees, normally filled with chirping birds, were silent as the grave on this morning which told me right away something was wrong. The deeper I trecked into the forest the quieter it became." Motioning with her hooves toward the sky. "The sun provided me with no light that morning and the sky pelted my fur with torrential rain. Normally a blessing on the Savannah for most zebras but it had been raining for four days straight with no sign of stopping." "Finally I reached the first trap. It was sprung but no game inside. The second and third were the same way. Eventually I reached the fourth trap which to my surprise was sprung and there was a small rodent inside. Unfortunately for me that only ment that whatever had stolen my game hadn't reached that trap. Or was there with me." Cinikis voice grew almost to a scream "Suddenly he was on me!" She shouted and jumped forward "A large ghbali standing taller than a horse snarling and roaring as it pounced! I quickly drew my blade and jumped back but I was to slow. It knocked me back on my haunches and slapped my blade into the trees. As is ran toward me I quickly drew my bow and knocked and arrow. The ghbali's belly was filled so it moved slower than normal which gave me a chance to draw the string and fire my arrow." Taking an arrow out of her quiver now and placing the tip on her forehead. "The beast got so close when I shot it the arrow broke through it's skull and Peirce's it's brain. When it struck him the creature roared in pain and fell to the forest floor with a thud."
Ciniki sat back down and took a deep breath. "And that was the time I was almost killed by a wild ghbali."

Feathermain rolled his eyes as he listened listlessly to Ciniki's 'story', clearly she had never truly hunted in her life - despite all the evidence to the contrary. Why, she was bested by a Ghbali, and though he knew not what she spoke of in her primitive tongue, he could wager a guess - wrong or right, it did not matter, for he was the famous Feathermain, hunter extraordinaire, so assuredly, he would have already eaten such creatures for breakfast.
He had been sitting on a barrel, more like leaning with his backside resting casually against it - unlike ponies, griffons had a more natural appearance when standing upright. In protest of Ciniki's claims, he flung his talons wild in protest. "Poppycock! Why the ghbali may as well be a shrew to the creatures I've faced - and what type of hunter uses traps!? See, my fair captain, this is the difference between the enlightened races, such as you and I, and the..." He fluttered a talon to Ciniki, "Less so than ones as the striped herbivore. Why, she only understands two colors, how backwards is that? Now let me tell you a proper story."
Feathermain cracked his talons and neck, sat up and adjusted his back with a rattling pop - he was going to act this out like a proper gentlebird. "So, there I was in the middle of this forsaken desert, just me and my assistant - a young pony by the name of... Crypto... Klepto... Calypso... well it does not matter, he was useless without me. Anyway, so we were searching for the this ancient kingdom and the great snake deity, lost for thousands of years, right in this very desert - I needed to pay off some tax evasion debts and this seemed like the best possible course of acion. Anyway, as we were searching through and abandoned village, this haboob washed over us, great sand-storm, had nearly drowned if it wasn't for this secret passage in one of the old homes. Before I knew it, I was in the very ancient kingdom I had been looking for. What sights to behold. As for my assistant, I assumed he was dead, more loot for me I figured!" He chuckled to himself as he slapped his thigh. "So, here I am, traveling through a thousand year old ruin, with nothing but my wits and chutzpah and I hear this terrible cackling, like a witch or nasty hag. You know the type -right?" Pointing to one of the crew. "So I follow it, like a snake in the grass, to a residential spot somewhere in this deep, underground cavern, to find none other than the infamous King of the Desert, Loci, trying to eat that sorry lot of an assistant of mine. Word of advice, never trust a Secretary Griffon. Whole lot of them are cannibals - not that I can argue with a fine equine steak, no offense, but your kind are rather delicious." He said nodding to the horse-crew. "Very lean, but still, I'm civilized and would never consider such delicacies outside of extreme circumstances - specially my own, also predators taste terrible. Mark my word for it." He elaborated, "So I sneak up on him and the whole thing turns crazy, fighting, scuffling, a few punches thrown and somehow he escapes."
He demonstrates the epic fight with throwing wild punches, dancing around the deck, ducking and dodging ghost punches and kicks.
"So now, with me and my incompetent assistant, we transverse this great expanse deep within the ancient kingdom, come upon a great alter, just as I had predicted, so I sent my pony cohort to investigate it and low and behold, he finds the secret passage to the great treasury hall! A mountain of gold, relics and every conceivable valuable one's old heart could image, though mostly iron snake effigies - also Loci was there, waiting. He set upon Crypto like flies on manure, boy was it an epic struggle. I watched, of course, the young pony had to learn to fight his own battles sooner-or-later, right? Admittedly, he was feeling a little weak from Loci's earlier blood letting, but a herbivore needs to learn the importance of a good steak."
He mimed the battle between Klepto and Loci, as dramatic as theater actor. Feathermain apparently was more versed in the arts than one would have imagined. "And his battle harness ripped through the gold clad bird like the volleys of heaven itself. Most importantly, while he was busy with the insane griffon, I was able to pilfer a large sum of valuable gold and relics. Thankfully, my dutiful assistant was able to carry it out - earth-ponies, am I right? Strong as mules, but twice as smart!" He explained, "And that, my friends, is how I avoid my taxes!"
