The airship soared through the cotton made clouds under the star stained night sky. Lilly was standing in the bowsprit, looking at the air-charts and her astrolab. Polaris shined bright, guiding them. The breeze was soft and silky, and the cruise seemed calm. But nobody was aware of what was expecting them, for a pair of sharp eyes were secretly spying on them... Who would help them out this time?

“Unidentified vessel, surrender and prepare for boarding.” Sparked an artificial voice from an unidentified source blasting through the clouds and emanating from a recently emerged griffon Corvette style airship, appearing out from the clouds surrounding the other ship. “Failure to oblige to this command will result in destruction of your ship. You have five minutes to comply.”
“Captain, don't believe you're being a little harsh?” So spoke the helms-griffon's, a young golden eagle, Tresk, to his captain. Tresk kept is bearing, following behind the other vessel.
“Nah, what makes you believe that? They're no bigger than we are, and we have you. Best pilot this side of Royal Rocks... just in case, pull back 30 meters and call to arms. You know, just in case.”
“Aye-aye, sir.” Tresk said in reply, spouting commands into the brass pipes of the ship which resided beside the helm. With Vincent, the older black-winged Kite with a most brilliant eye color of red and suppliant coat of serval fur, commanded of his crew; there was none aboard his air-vessel who would dis-agree with – most of the time. The Ibis was, after all, a democratic collective of similarly like minded individuals.
“Bring us along side, starboard cannons at the ready. They so much as make a move to prepare their weapons, Nahla has fire-at-will command.” Vincent said, leaning forward in his chair on the bridge. “This is our air-space, way-ward vessels need to know that the Infamous-”
“Ye' more of a murmur, captain.” Counter Tresk, to which Vincent silenced the helms-griffon with a shush from his talon.
“Still your beak, this is ours today, try and express some excitement.” Retorted Captain Vincent, propelling from his captain's chair in defiance and resolve. “I want steak, hopefully we can get some steak, or bits for it.”
“We're all a bit hungry-”Tresk interrupted, only to be interrupted himself by the captain.
“I know, quiet. You incessant complying is reminder enough... perhaps we can eat them?” Vincent mused, only to be dismayed by Tresk.
“Assuming they're Equines, that might not be the best course. Besides's, I hear they're stringy.” “Too true, whatever, blast them from the sky. It's nearly five and Rafee promised dinner. Don't care if it's this ship or not, I'm just hungry.”
“Aye-aye, sir. All talons, claws and hooves, to battle quarters. Prepare to board an unidentified air-ship, silhouette indicated Equestrian made. Again, all...” The internal pipes blared.

Lilly stared for a second at the enormous air-ship, almost confused. And to her worry she realized they were in trouble. She jumped from the bowsprit to the deck and screamed for her crew "JET STREAAAAAAM!!!" The tall unicorn got from the crows nest to the deck with a transportation spell "What do you want?" he said in a lazy voice "More respect you idiot!" she frowned her brow "there are more peps watching!" she said as she pointed the airship that was getting placed next to them, which revealed the fear in Jet Stream's face "Wha-what do we-" he stuttered "Stop acting like a baby!! go get the helm, we will loose them in the Foal Mountain!" she yelled "A-aye captain!!" he ran to the helm "And the rest of you" she screamed to the rest of the crew, who had gotten to the deck already "go get all our weaponry ready!" They ran to their positions with the canons and to get their respective weapons "Why so much urgency?" Starflight, her 1st mate and best friend asked "Have you seen the size of that thing?!" Lilly told her, exasperated "We've fought a bigger one" Starflight answered, loading her guns "Yeah, and we lost Klowds leg and Blau in the process" Lilly said, fastening her coat "I don't want to loose so much again"

Tresk spoke up once more as it appeared the unknown vessel was about to initiate evasive maneuvers. "Captain, the other ship appears to be changing course, believe they're new heading puts them in line with that mountain range." He indicated with an outstretched talon.
The captain ran his talon over his his eyes and down his beak, before getting up from his bridge chair and making his way beside the helm. He grabbed a nearby spyglass, extending it and gazed out towards the fantail of the other vessel. "And its crew are scurrying around like scared ants. Tresk, for once, I'd like this to go smoothly."
"Maybe you came on too harsh?" Tresk retorted.
"No... believe next time I'll fire the harpoons first, then give them the ultimatum." Vincent replied back, "Speaking of-" He leaned over to a brass air-pipe on the wall. "Captain to Nahla."
A moment later a voice bounced back up the tube in reply, "Nahla here, want something dead?" "In a manner, be a dear and tether us to that ship." Captain leaned away from the tube, then quickly popped back over it, "And please, try not to do too much damage this time. I want this one still flying." "No promises, Captain!"
Vincent turned back to his helms-griffon, with an tired exacerbated expression. "My crew are psychopathic..." "Even me, Captain." Quizzed Tresk. "Especially you, now get us with-in gun range." "Aye-aye."
The Ibis picked up speed, it's more advanced design and enclosed deck reduced wind drag, making maneuverable and quick. The corvette class however lacked a large assortment of guns and heavier armor, compared to other military style craft. Instead, the ship was meant for quick strikes and retreats - though the Ibis had a few special modification.
The Wandering Wind's crew, as attentive as they appeared to be, would likely now notice that two swivel guns on the starboard bow, center deck, were moving and two very large harpoon like projectiles were jutting out from their barrels. Though as they hadn't been fired upon yet, it was a good chance the other ship was out of range, but it wouldn't be for long.

Lilly, noticing the weapons pointed at them, walked over to Lunar and Crimson, two of the only three unicorns in the crew. "You two, they're already aiming at us" She turned her sight to the moon "They may seem stronger, but we still have magic! I want you to block anything they fire at us" "Aye-aye captain!" both said, getting Lunar to the crows nest and Crimson staying in deck
"And I'm pretty sure we're faster too" she muttered, galloping inside the ship to the Magnet Gear
As she got inside the dark room, she could see Auburn setting the magnets that lifted their ship in the air.
"Auburn, there's a change in our route. We need to get to Ondineas tribe on time or there might not be a turn back for her" she told him with sorrow "Then what do you want me to, Captain?" he asked "Let's take advantage of our disadvantage. We can cross Foal Mountain through the caverns that open to the inner pony towns, and get out by the other side of the mountain in Hollow Shades" Lilly said, thinking that the griffons wouldn't fire to their ship once inside the mountain, 'cause if not they would kill way too many innocent ponies that lived in there population "They are too big to follow us inside the mountain, and won't be able to go around or above it before us" "Then you want me to put the magnets to attract us to the earth?" "Yes. That would also get us a bit out of their range" she said as she started walking to the deck again "Consider it done, captain!" Auburn said

“Wait for it...” Vincent mumbled to himself, watching their approach on the stern of the other vessel. Wait for it...”
“Captain.” Tresk interrupted, “We're in range.”
Vincent slammed open the brass-speaking tube, “Nahla, fire!” He commanded, turning back to the windows of the bridge to watch the results.
The two harpoons, designed to tether their ships together, launched out like ballista bolts, cutting through the air with a distinctive buzz. The large projectiles fired true, their aim for the fantail and port stern hull, as in the moment before the stern hull would hit, a barrier of magic knocked it to a dead stop; however, the fantail harpoon struck and lodge itself into the vessel. The failed harpoon dislodged from the Ibis and fell, its heavy wire whipping about like a seed on the wind.
Vincent slammed the spy-glass close, “Unicorns... always unicorns! Tresk, match speed, try to keep her from breaking the tie.” Just as he spoke, there was a terrible groan from somewhere in the ship before the whole vessel suddenly jerked forward, causing Tresk and Vincent to stumble. “Bloody- Tresk, report.”
Tresk was desperately glancing at instrument, “Uh uh, their increasing speed somehow. We're being dragged.” Vincent looked perplexed, the ship didn't appear to be that strong it could pull something the size of the Ibis, “Figures; never easy right?” Vincent's talon slammed onto the speaking-tube, “Nivzad, we're going to need more torque on the engines. Attempt to burn out whatever it is they're using to pull us – be prepared to increase speed if we loose the tether. I'm not letting this one get away.” “Aye-aye, captain.” Replied a husky voice from the tube. “Nahla, try and hold the tether and prepare grapeshot. Let's see if these unicorns can handle a couple hundred projectiles.” He paused in speech, “Boomer, assist Nahla in forward weapons. Rafee, prepare boarding equipment – also dinner still scheduled for seven?” Not waiting for an answer, Vincent returned back to Tresk beside the helm.

"LUNAR!!!" Lilly screamed in anger as the harpoon pierced the ship "I-I'm really sorry!! It was too fast for me!" Lunar screamed as her anxiousness increased "Get rid of that thing ruining my ship NOW!!" Lilly yelled Lunar started to get off the crow's nest when the ship started to get swiftly in direction of the ground, making her loose control of her fall and hurting herself. "Lunar?" Lilly asked, holding her hat so it wouldn't fall from her head. "I'm ok!" Lunar said, as she lifted herself and started to try getting the harpoon out of the vessel "Captain, it's way too big!!" Lunar yelled in fear Lilly turned to the Ibis, trying to guess what would they do next To her stress, she could discern the grapeshot being aimed at them "All the unicorns, stop doing whatever you are doing and come here!! Zephire, take the helm! And I want you two -she said pointing to Shadowstrike and Silver, other two pegasi of the crew- I want you to take that freakin' harpoon out of my ship!!" They followed her instructions, and the unicorns ran to her and listened "Ok, I need you to make a magic shield that can last for more than two seconds and stop a grapeshot, can you do it?" Lilly asked All three of them widened their eyes "We-we can try, Captain, but we can't sure you anything" Crimson answered "That's enough for me" Lilly said "Do it for Ondinea, at the count of three!" They nodded and walked to the stern forming a triangle and ready to use everything they had when given the instruction "We can do it" Lilly muttered to herself "ONE!..."

((Admin note: Hijrah has been renamed Ibis, please correct in your posts))
The grapeshot launched with a deafening roar, sending a barrage of iron pellets at the Wandering Wind. They strike the unicorn shield with rhythmic crescendo, failing to puncture through – though the strain of some many hits causes their shield to waver against the strain. While the grapeshot had caught the attention of the crew on deck, the attacking vessel had another surprise. A third tether was fired at the the Wandering Wind, ignoring the stern where the shield was, the harpoon went for the forward port hull – however, the shot failed to connect properly, instead slamming against the hull and ricocheting off, though not without taking a piece of the Wandering Wind with it. The tethered harpoon fell, and the Ibis released it, letting it falls as the first had.
Vincent gritted his beak as he watched the tether fail, “Our luck,” He flipped open the speaking tube, calling down for Nahla, “I said up their nose, not across it!” “My bad, captain. Preparing another.” “And keep up with the grape-shot, their shield cannot hold out much longer.” “Aye-aye.”
“Captain!” Tresk exlaimed, focusing on their one connected tether. “Problem.” Vincent turned away from the speaking-tube, “What is it now?” “Magic around the harpoon, believe they're trying to remove it.” Vincent let out a uproarious scoff, “Let them try.”
As Vincent had predicted, the unicorns on the Wandering Wind found themselves struggling to remove the heavy barb from their ship. It stuck inside them like an aggravating thorn, with each pull, tug or jiggle, the harpoon felt as if it was digging in deeper, inflicting further damage to their vessel. With the two ships still adhered together, neither of which were going very far, very fast, Vincent smugly approached his bridge chair and sat, shifting his wings and tail till comfortable. As he had before, he hailed the opposing vessel through a powerful loud-speaking.
“This is the Captain of the Ibis calling to the captain of the vessel we currently are tethered to, I commend your attempts to resist but the five minutes are up. Shut down your engines and prepare to be boarded. I give my word that if you cease resisting, no more harm will come to your ship or crew. Signal if you agree to these terms.”

"MY SHIIIP!!!" Lilly yelled in horror when the third harpoon fell with a piece of her vessel. Taking her anger for her, she turned to the shield protecting them from the grapeshot; as she realized Lunars shield was becoming weak really fast. "Fudge, Lunar is about to..."
Then all of them heard the voice from the Ibis telling them to surrender. "Instructions?" Starflight asked "Fifth pirate rule, Starflight?" Lilly said smirking, as she ran to the edge of the deck to see how close they were from the inner caves of Foal Mountain "Never trust other pirates" Starflight said with relief "I want you to aim one of our cannons to that grapeshot, and Glass, -she said to another mare- I want you to aim another one to the root of the harpoon tethering us, but don't fire yet" "Aye aye captain!" Both said, running to the cannons "If we free ourselves in time and get to earth fast enough we will make it through, if they don't release us then the inertia will make the Ibis crash to the ground and we will get out of the tether in time with the canons" Lilly thought

As the two ships lined up, both with their guns ready and able, a great crack erupted between them. In the end, the shot from the Wandering Wind went wide and struck the thick hull near the wind deck, dealing minimal damage, while their grapeshot fired true and struck the unicorn shield with all the might of a hundred projectiles. It collapsed, as Vincnet had predicted, leaving the upper deck unprotected and vulnerable to further attack.
“Full barrage, grape and chain from the four pounders, on my command!” Exclaimed Vincent as he fell upon the pipes, boiling over with excitement. Nahla and Tresk, without a word, turned a full broadside to the Wandering Wind. With their shields down, and the failure of Wandering Wind's fire to dislodge the first tether, the opposing ship was at the mercy of Ibis. It's cannons at the ready, a direct hit would likely cripple the other ship, leaving it in a drift in the air.
“Other vessel,” So blared the voice of the other pirate ship, “ We have you in check, lower your guns, power down your engines, and prepare for boarding. You have lost this battle.” There's a pause, “And please, don't consider us rude, but we have to eat. Open your stores and we may find an ounce of mercy in the meal you can provide.”
Suddenly the Wandering Wind jerks hard to the aft, the tether now reeling in like fishing line, dragging the ship to its probable doom.

((I wasn't going to fire my canons yet))
Lilly just saw as the magic shield disappeared. Things started to get hard for them, and the crew could feel it and started to get nervous.
Then, as the ship started to get drawn by the Ibis Lilly screamed to another crew mate "GO TELL AUBURN TO SET THE 3 MAGNETS TO THE FLOOR!" "BUT WE ALL COULD D-" "FOLLOW ORDERS YOU REBEL!" and her nakama disappeared running inside the ship. Then she heard the Ibis telling them to give up and give them food. "WAIT A- THEY JUST WANT FOOD?!" she screamed foolish "WE CAN GIVE THEM THAT!! WHY ALL THE-!" "Lilly, they are freaking griffons" Starflight reminded her "Oh" Lilly said trying to erase what she just said, aware that they wouldn't hesitate to eat her crew "We can't loose! Ondinea needs us!" she thought as the ships kept getting closer to each other. Then she stared for a second at the ship... maybe making if they managed to... Suddenly, they felt as all the magnets made the ships be attracted with enourmous strength to the ground, and it'd be just more than seconds what decided if they'd make it through the inner caves or not.

Suddenly the Ibis jerked forward hard, its engines groaning a terrible whine as they strain against the hard pull from Wandering Wind's sudden descent. The tether tying them together snapped taught, vibrating against the strain. The Ibis kicked into as strong a reverse as it could, the blades keeping her aloft spinning till they seemed they would spin right off their fixtures and fly off into the sky. It was a tug of war between two vessels, and the Ibis seemed to be winning. Just when it would seem the tether would have to snap, or the Ibis would give up its prey, a terrible groan shot through the Wandering Wind. A sound so angry, so pained, that it would seem that the ship was alive and crying out from the pain in its pierced stern, then, within a breath, she gave way. The tether broke free – along with most of the transom stern (the flat back of the vessel) and fantail, leaving those below, in the back belly of the Wandering Wind, to admire their new viewing portal. The stern fell, only to be caught by the tether still holding it in place, causing the Ibis to jar down for a moment before recovering. The Wandering Wind was now free, but crippled, unable to properly navigate with a rear fan-tail. There was dead silence on the bridge of the Ibis, awestruck by what they just witnessed. Tresk was first to speak, “Did we just..?” He stuttered out, beyond belief they had just ripped a new hole in the opposing ship. “Well I'll be... Bring us along side, they're crippled!” “Aye-aye!” The Ibis kicked its speed up and shot forward after the Wandering Wind, till they were nearly along side – and still dragging a large portion of the ship's hull with them. Once more, Vincent called out to the Wandering Wind, “Foreign vessel, you can have your stern back in exchange for a portion of your stored goods – also pictures, we want pictures for our galley wall. It's not everyday a ship's back falls off.” There's a slight pause, “Oh and we also have our guns trained on that crippling wound and have no desire to blast you from the inside-out if we don't have too. Believe loosing your back-end is enough humiliation for a captain for a day – for a merchant vessel, you did fight admirably.” In his last statement, could Captain Lilly heard him right? Did he just refer to the Wandering Wind as a merchant ship, not a fellow pirate ship. Perhaps there had been some sort of terrible mix-up. ((This is not very typical: www.youtube.com/watch?v=43lBiJIzEPk))

"FUUUU-!!!" Lilly screamed as she saw her stern get away from her beloved ship. "That bunch of-!" Her words were cut down as the ship suddenly stopped descending, Auburn had returned the magnets to a useful position just a few meters before crashing into the ground. Then they heard the message from the Ibis. "Those griffins think we are merchants!!! Freakin' merchants!!! And they said I had enough humiliation for a day!! Only I decide how many humiliation is too much for me!!!" she screamed in anger to Starflight "What do we do now?" Starflight asked "What else? we don't have a plan so..." she answered "Trust Luna and see what happens?" Starflight completed "Yeah, that" Lilly sighed

The Ibis came overhead of the Wandering Wind, its shadow looming over the crippled ship like a hungry predator coming in for a final, quick kill. The vessel came to a stop several meters above the highest point of the Wander Wind and released the broken piece of the Wandering Wind's wooden flesh to the ground. In another moment, hatchway opened on the side of the Ibis and several silhouettes illuminated from back light – several griffons, a zebra by the mohawk, and a diamond dog. Two of the griffons fell from the hold hatch to land on the deck of the Wandering Wind, One, a kite-serval and captain indicated by his disheveled bicorne hat with frayed feathers and fluff and the commanding presence he exuded. The other, a golden eagle-lion, regal and young wearing the pilfered and altered officers uniform of the Griffon navy. Next came the diamond dog, descending from a line and paw-hold, with a sabre in one paw and a bandoleer if tiny knives across his furred chest. Back on the Ibis, from the open hatchway the other griffon, a female harrier, decked to the feathers in an alarming assortment of exotic weapons. Foreign knives, new griffon pistols strapped across her chest and under her wings, a sword at her side, razor gloves on her talons, and a scoped long-rifle in her grasp aiming at the Wandering Wind's crew below. The zebra beside her, rough and exotic, readied a ballista style weapon. This crew was not taking chances with the unidentified vessel.
The captain was the first to greet those assembled on the Wandering Wind's deck, “A'hoy. Well, isn't this just a sightly bunch of ponies. Glad you took us up on our offer and all that.” Said the amused griffon, “Might I add, you're an odd bunch of merchant sailors...” He paused as if pondering, but carried on, “Now, I don't suppose your captain is around here, are they? Want to get this little parley over with in time for supper – and I hate being late for supper.”

The crew watched expressionless as the other crew got into their ship. Well, not expressionless, if you payed enough attention they were angered. Lilly was about to go mad when the griffon called them merchants, and even more asked if their captain was there. Wasn't she what he expected a captain to be like? Then she thought it again... probably not. "I have the fancy hat with feathers, sir. I'm the Captain." she said, turning her sight to the griffon aiming at them "and if I may add, we are also in a hurry, so let's get this right as soon as possible, what do you want?" she asked, playing with her mane. The rest of her crew just stood there, praying for their wishes not to be something they couldn't grant.
