The griffons mumbled something and she heard the plates being taken away from the table. "Alright, that was an easy one. Now for the next phase in the test, we're placing down syrups, raspberry, grape, strawberry etc... I want you to figure out which of those is raspberry." At that, she heard the clicks of bowls being placed on the table as her snout once more was guided to each plate in turn. The syrup was warm and tasty, but the flavors were similar, this one would be harder to find.

Sylvia frowned. This one was going to be a lot harder. Though she did eat berries on the occasion, it wasn't very often, she mainly stuck to fish...Taking a deep breath, she could feel her heart pound in her chest. If she answered wrong, what then? Would they attack her on sight? Would they lead her away somewhere and imprison her where she couldn't escape?
She shook her head softly to get the thoughts out of her mind. Slowly, and methodically, she began to taste each one. She knew raspberries were a bit bitter...granted, as she went from one to another, they did taste the same, but she waited and let the last flavor tickle her taste buds. The dragon shuffled nervously, her claws clacking on the ground. She then stuck her tongue out towards the last and took another taste, "This one...I believe it's this one."

She heard mumbling again and several clanking as the wooden bowls were taken away from her. "Alright, this is the most important test. We have here skewers of all sorts of meat replacements, only one of them is really meat. You are not allowed to bite it, or chew it or otherwise try and eat it. You must pick the real meat only by using your tongue. This should be the easiest test... for a REAL dragon." And once again, Sylvia felt her muzzle guided towards something, time and again. Her first licks came out with absolutely nothing. All of the meat sticks tasted almost exactly the same, they felt meaty, but which was the real meat? It was next to impossible to tell!
It took her several rounds of tasting each and every one of the meat sticks, even having to put them in her mouth (being careful not to bite or chew off anything, lest they think her an imposter) but she was still at a standstill. "If you want, we can put gravy on them!" One of the griffon chuckled. This was an impossible test, who could tell which one of them was meat and which wasn't? They all felt like meat and all taste like meat! The differences in flavor were minute and even then, which one was the right one? Perhaps asking for gravy, silly as it was would be a good idea.

"Gravy? Why ruin good meat with gravy?" She snapped as her frustration mounted. She wanted to know desperately which one. She licked the morsels furiously, her tongue not helping her in the slightest. She knew if she picked wrong, she would be in trouble, "Ugh, this is infuriating!" She grumbled. She pondered this and tried licking the plates as well, trying to taste for any blood.

Sylvia found she couldn't reach the table, her snout was held back, apparently by a chain she didn't notice them slipping around her neck and the meat was shoved against her snout. "Seems like you might not be a dragon after all." Said one of the griffons, she could hear a sort of huffiness to his voice, she would be nervous too if she had to try and take down a dragon, or even a changeling pretending to be one. "Pick one, again you can try them with gravy, maybe it'll help if you're "unsure".

Sylvia groaned and sighed, "Fine, fine, put your stupid gravy on them." She grumbled in irritation. The fact that they challenged her dragonality made her fume in indignation. "If you'd let me eat the darn things I'd know!" She snapped in frustration, "But fine, but that gravy better be delicious!"

There was some more mumbling and the meat was drawn away from Sylvia's face, she heard some grumbling for a few minutes as they went to fetch the gravy. When the meat was finally presented to her again, she could taste the gravy off it. The gravy was concentrated and a bit salty for her flavor, but now at least she had a chance. If one of those was real meat, the gravy would absorb some of it's fat. She just had to lick each one clean and figure out which one had the fattest gravy. That one she could do.

The dragon waited patiently for a moment before licking the meats once more. It actually did quite make a difference, and she tasted the different textures of the gravy. Finally, she felt the thickness of one and she pointed to it with her tongue, her breath held, "That one, I believe it's that one." She could feel the coolness of the chains beneath her scales and she grew even more nervous. She hoped she could get it right, blind and confused at where she was, she would be in big trouble if she had to fight her way out.
She waited, tense, for the answer.

She heard more noise as the griffons took away the skewers and reorganized. "Well you got it all right. Now if you'll follow me we'll take you to do some medical tests, we don't know if you have any infectious diseases and what not and it's something that needs to be done." And so Sylvia was led further on.
She had to give out a blood, scale and saliva sample before they were finished with her, they even filed the surface of her horn to get some powder off that to test. But at last, after that ordeal her blind fold was taken off. It seemed the griffons have prepared a large room for her, thick but soft hay roughly her size were made to be her bed and a small supply of gems were left in the corner for her, as well as a large organized pile of books. Sylvia noticed the light came from a lamp rather than a window - there were no windows in the room.
"While you're here feel free to read, if you're able to, we'll go over your tests and come back to see you when we have the results, is that alright?"

Sylvia was surprised at the spacious room. It wasn't much, but then again, she didn't have anything to begin with, so it was a step up, "Yes, yes, that's fine." She stretched her wings while she could, her forearms stretching before her as well. She noticed the gems and books, and she curled protectively around the treasures before picking one up on griffon history. Immediately she began to read, her claws carefully turning the pages. She was afraid to rip them. She wanted to make a good first impression for these creatures.

A few hours later a griffon came back with food, lots of food. The griffon was one of the one who met her at the beach and brought her to where she was. He was carrying a platter full of meat and fish, looking mighty delicious.
"How are you enjoying your books? We can bring you more as you finish them." He said, "Once the medical examinations are done we'll want to learn more about you, naturally, so you'll have someone to talk to. I hope you're not feeling lonely in here." He placed the tray down in front of Sylvia and stepped back, giving her room to eat.

Sylvia's eyes tore away from the pages to watch the griffon bring the food. Her stomach let out a low rumble and she set the book upside down on the ground and sniffed at the platter, the delicious scents from the meat and fish causing her mouth to water.
"W-wow...that smells delicious." Shaking her head, she sat down on her haunches and looked at him, "It'll be nice having someone to talk to. The loneliness doesn't bother me all too much, but I'm just so excited to learn more about you griffons." She smiled and then chuckled, "All I know is what my father told me...and he thinks that pretty much all creatures that aren't dragon are inferior. Needless to say we never got along that well." She nabbed a piece of meat rather daintily between her sharp teeth and flipped it in the air. Chomping down on it, she swallowed it in a massive gulp, the scales on her throat moving as the food traveled down to her stomach.
"As for the books, yes, they are very interesting. I never really had anything interesting to read back home, so this is a welcomed change." Sylvia chuckled, a low sound that echoed in the chamber.

"Well I'm sorry to keep you waiting, but we're very careful about any diseases and all. Speaking of which, would you mind blowing some fire into this receptacle?" The griffon asked, presenting a strange container.
"Just have to make sure, you know, dragon fire can be pretty lethal. Forgive us if we're a bit paranoid, it's understandable and your cooperation has been commendable so far."

She looked at the container curiously, sniffing at it for a moment. Her nostrils flared, and if one looked close enough they could see sparks forming. "Sure thing." She opened her mouth slowly and gently blew a tiny stream of flames into the container. The fire was a light blue color that shimmered in the container, but it seemed to hold up quite well withing the receptacle.

The Griffon closed the receptacle and bowed before stepping out, leaving Sylvia to her books once again. "Ambrosios will come soon to keep you company, he's rather new so be nice to him and answer all of his questions please, we'd like to know about you just as much as you want to know about us!"
