The mage raised an eyebrow, "A trick huh?" He asked, leading Shade further down the alley where it was harder to see them. Well Shade was in luck, the trick went pretty well, the mage certainly seemed entertained by it. "Aight, done and done." The mage said, leading Shade back to a point in the edge, and then shoving him over it. Shade barely had time to swear as he began to fall, but the sneaky mage was true to his word and teleported him down. Unfortunately for Shade however, being mid fall, he just ended up landing on his face, though uninjured next to Clobber.
"Took you long enough! I've been waiting for a while now, almost gave you up as called quits." The stallion harrumphed, "Also you got a thing there..." He said gesturing at the side of his mouth, before moving on.
"So, I need you at one hundred percent, don't attract too much attention, we're to get the item and leave with as little conflict as possible alright?"

Shade didn't feel so great about himself but... it was finally over. He closed one of his eyes and magically removed that... thing... before shooting it like a bullet into the treeline, "Yes well... not ta worry...", he grumbled. Following Clobber in tow as he fixed his hat and stopped in place, looking back at his things. These bags were all but stealthy, "... Clobber you mind waitin a quick second?...", he needed to ditch the suitcases... and he knew just how to.
The armor inside needed a good fitting.

"We don't have time for this, put it on when we stop on the way." Clobber said, dragging the unicorn as he continued, "Don't make me clobber ya we need to get there before anyone finds where it is."

Shade grunted when he was dragged at the neck almost, "Alright alright...", his horn glowed brighter and snapped the locks off the suitcase, revealing an entire ensemble of armor pieces. "Ah'm thinkin this'll take me a few minutes but uh...", he already began slipping the chain mail along his legs, clipping the shinguard metal, his helmet was nect, tying his mane up in a ponytail to fit through the break in the horn compartment.
Next came the chestpiece which opened up in three places, lacing himself in the light mail again before snapping the glimmering armor across his chest. According to the griffons it was very durable... yet still forged in metal. It wasn't that heavy either... of course to Shade it was of course but nothing he couldn't handle. His tail popped out lastly, and finally his hind leg guards clipping in place and tightened. It wasn't clobber's armor... but it was armor none the less, "There."
Sling!... the leather suitcase was slung into the treeline, dissapearing into the underbrush before Shade simply followed at a slow trot, "Haha... See what I tell you? I got somethin ya show for my wounds!"

Clobber stared at him disinterestedly, "Wow, armor... Good show. Could get one like that for like 60-70 bits?" The large stallion shrugged and led on, "Alright so it's supposed to be right at the foothills here, not quite Canterlot, but not quite not. Diamond Dogs were pretty active in this area before, so stay on your hooftips and don't make too much noise or light with that freaky magic of yours."
Clobber led him around the foothills, "Gotta be careful not to be spotted by any soldiers or guards either, we're not supposed to be hanging around here and I'd hate if someone thought we were changelings trying to sneak in. Heard they do terrible things to the ones they catch... Too many holes in 'em if you catch my drift."

"Shut it about holes for five Dang minutes.", Shade grumbled, fixated the last few pieces of his armor around his smaller form, slowing to about Clobber's speed. Seems the unicorn didn't really have much to say as far as orders went, he would listen intently if he so demanded to stay alive, "How long ya'think we got til we hav'ta get out of'ere?" ignoring the comments about his armor. Shade had that stubborn pride where it was worth much more than that simply because of it's historical value... then again he was talking to one of the far less intelligent ponies of his past. Though to be most honest Shade hadn't really shown too much clever or wit as of recent.
"Jus tell me what ah'need ta do... we'll be well of'n that case."

"No idea, but it's best we don't hang around. Now quiet, we're almost there." He said, lowering himself on his haunches so he was practically sneaking now. He was surprisingly adept at it despite all of his size and armor.
Passing through a small rocky channel with trees flanking them on either side they found themselves on a natural rocky terrace overlooking a deserted house from above. The drop was steep, but not far, about a couple meters high, but if they took a head start, they could jump right on the second story balcony from where they were.
Clobber stuck to the ground and indicated for Shade to do the same, he observed the house for any movement, didn't see any and then decided to pick up a rock and throw it at a window on the first floor.
Immediately the window slammed open and a vicious looking diamond dog glared out, Clobber quickly slid back from the edge and stayed still as the dog sniffed and growled. He could see one dog so far, but he seemed big and mean, probably a warrior. Jumping to the balcony was still the best way in, so long as they didn't know how many diamond dogs actually were on the premises.
Clobber pulled out two pairs of cloth sacks and poured some soft dirt into them before tying them to his hooves, he signed to Shade that they were meant to prevent the hoof noise when he jumped.

Sensible enough as it is. Shade tucked down behind the bush as Clobber kept lookout, dousing his armor in some part-dried mud to lower some of the shine it might give off. Only when he was handed the cloth sacs did he obey, nodding as he began to magically cut dirt from the ground and fill the four, as quietly as he possible could of course. Not that he wanted to go leaping through the air and possibly stir up a DDog nest.
But the price was right. Whence he finished the unicorn gave a soft clearing of his throat, lightly butting his hoof into Clobber's side to signal he was ready to get a move on, "When we get through the window, what shall we do?", the question seemed reasonable enough, whispering it with a mild case of the jitters.
Shade was no master of any trade accept farming perhaps... but he had been slowly grasping how to get by quietly in his recent travels. A few moments passed until he picked up his hat and covered it over his horn, muffling the light as he casted a meager Spell detection... if there was anything magically dangerous or just out of the ordinary within the building... it would be good to know where whether it was on the move.
"Give us a second...", he mumbled. But it was easily casted while on the move if Clobber so wished to hurry the process.

The window immediately slammed open again, but this time so did the door. Clobber smacked his face and then sent an ear-ringing smack at Shadestride, picking himself up and running as far away as fast as he could from the hut. Shade could see why a moment after, his vision finally stabilizing after that vicious hoof-slap. Diamond Dogs, not many, but several vicious looking ones came out of the house and the one in the window was aiming a bow straight at Shade's face.
An arrow was fired and glanced off Shade's chest armor, it didn't penetrate, but the strong draw would probably leave a bruise on Shade's shoulder later on. In the meanwhile all he could do was run away with Clobber, alone he had no chance against a group of Diamond Dogs, especially such ferocious looking ones. An arrow whizzed past him as the two fled, but fortunately the dogs were not able to catch up.
The two were able to elude the dogs, who didn't chase them further, and then Clobber finally turned on Shade. "Are you stupid? Do you have mental problems? I told you to be quiet. They're DOGS, they have MUCH BETTER HEARING than us. I have half a mind to slap you silly and throw you as bait." The angry mercenary growled.
"Now they'll know we're up to something, how are we going to get in?" He asked, swearing. "Gonna have to wait 'till night now, maybe if they see we're not bothering them anymore during the day they'll lower their alert. Or they might set an ambush, if they do, I'll kill you."

Shade was still very fazed by the end of that episode, not really taking to mind the anger Clobber showed, "I've never seen uh darn diamon'dog before!", he retorted after a meager amount of time, "Looks like uh bloody ape'ta me!", the creatures were far from just dog-like. If anything they were simply repulsive in a way that had slipped Shade's mind... aware dogs heard fine. But Diamond Dogs? Perhaps he should have at least considered... a very bad decision.
The unicorn brushed down his hat and set it back on his horn, "I'll need ta work on Silent Casting~", grumbled the pony. Turning and sighing full of relief however... thankful that Clobber had managed to get him out of such a scrap, "Well... at least ya givin me a second chance before you throw me as bait."

The two waited until night, Clobber refusing to talk to the unicorn during the wait, they found another position overlooking the house, but much further away. They lay in peace, figuring the acoustics would not allow the dogs to hear them. Rested after their misadventures previously, they saw several of the diamond dogs leave the place in the evening, possibly to loot or search for food elsewhere. They could tell however that there were still diamond dogs in the hut.
"If they catch us, they'll torture us, or worse." Clobber said, "Probably make me into food at the very least, big as I am... you... you're too skinny for food. So you don't want to get caught." He whispered almost inaudibly to the pony, "So be silent and don't make any noise whatsoever."

What else could Shade really do in that case? He zipped his mouth shut as he crept alongside him. With the little raider party out on the prowl it gave them another likeliness of succeeding in their quest to fetch the item indoors. And of course he had not forgotten whence they came into a decent distance to place the sand booties on once again to muffle their hoof-steps. So... considerably heightened senses; hearing and smell... what about their sight? Wouldn't bloody surprise him if they might peer through walls.
He wouldn't speak to Clobber this time... he would not cast magic and he surely wouldn't sit in place and wait for them to put an arrow in his gut if they were found out yet a second time.

Clobber and he stalked around the hut, apparently there were still a couple, maybe three dogs inside. Every fifteen minutes or so one would get outside to keep guard and look and sniff around. The biggest, toughest one was still inside. The question was, could they infiltrate the house without fighting or will they have to fight for their treasure?
The house had two stories and an attic, it had a balcony on the second floor, the one they tried to jump to before. The front had two entrances, from the front and the back. The front one would probably lead into the living room and the rear to the kitchen. The second floor was probably where the dogs slept. Clobber indicated for Scythe to go around and see if there was a cellar door somewhere, but to remain hidden while he watched for the sentry. He could probably take him down if he was alone. The question was how much noise would the dog make before dropping.

Shade had tightened down his armor for the occassion to assure there would be no clanking about whilst they snuck in for their prize. And no longer would he disobey the "No sound" rule set by his unanimous(of the two of them) leader, Clobber. At this point it was best to take on the humility and learn a thing or two about how the more violent parts of the world worked.
He had been paying attention to the guard who would poke around everyso often, whether or not he appeared the same each time, trying to make out the facial appearence and determine it one after the other. Of course it was cut short as Clobber insisted he himself snoop around the house, sticking to the pushes as the sand boots beneath his hooves kept him muffled and silenced, using any vegetation nearby that was large enough to conceal him from the keen eyes of these creatures. And of course attempting to stay downwind so their noses weren't as prone to catching his scent.
So there was 2-4 by his guessing, but also according to Clobber's guesses. He prepared for the worst and simply added on an extra number as he attempted to carefully round the home, either tiptoeing as quietly as he could to get behind cover when the guard dog was in sight... or simply trying to avoid any line of sight the windows provided. Hoping to at least make it around to the other side and find some evidence of a basement entrance. Sweatdrops formed on his head whenever the other dog would leave the house and do his little patrol. If they had to fight... they were probably outnumbered.

Shade at first thought there was no cellar entrance, only after the diamond dog sentry passed him by the rear of the house did he notice he checked what Shade thought was a loose wooden board. Apparently, beneath it was a previously dug cellar entrance that the diamond dogs must have broken. Looking up to find Clobber, he noticed he was already on the balcony, trying to take a peek inside.
Perhaps Clobber meant to have them both sneak in from the bottom and top to try and surprise the dogs.
