The budding light from the thinning forest was a welcomed sight after spending the long night in that miserable, death filled place. Best yet, their blind charge into the notoriously inescapable Everfree Forest paid off as here they were, just meters away from freedom and the fresh air of Whitetail Valley – then things seemed to take a turn for the worst.
Gilda's eyes went wide as she took a few more steps closer as her gaze was consumed by the things, the monstrous Sky Titan over Canterlot. Gilda's beak held agape as she watched in adjunct horror mixed with fascinating. The griffon thought she had seen some things in her time, but this was in competition for definitive lead. And, as it ended and their world returned to a unsteady normality, Gilda fell back on her haunches and gawked towards the spot where the city once stood.
”That... was... gnarly!” Her tone sounded almost amused, as if the horror of what she just witnessed refused to set in and instead viewed it as something to be in awe of. ”Like what in Tartarus was that thing!? Holy Buffaloed Alicorn wings!” She oddly exclaimed, ”I mean, glad I wasn't there but, that was intense! Hey, you all see that?!” She asked, finally looking to her companions, namely Spike and Trixie ”Right... Uh, perhaps we should keep moving.” She turned her attention back to the smoldering crater on the mountain, ”So... I guess Canterlot is out of the question.”

"Twilight!" Spike called, barely functioning as Trixie threw him over her back and began sprinting towards Canterlot.
"Oh hey, no wait for me!" Bowie called after them, running on twos to follow. He would have run a lot faster if he went quadrupedal, but apparently he still did not want to get himself dirty. Well, dirtier than he was anyway.
Though she knew Spike's mind raced, so did her own. Was Red Charge and the Princess alright? She had finally found acceptance, mentorship in Watermark and more particularly Red Charge. She can't have lost him already, right? Was it simply her destiny to just remain alone forever? No. She couldn't accept that, right now she had to get to Canterlot as fast as possible.
The group noticed as one of the fleets disappeared with a flash and even Trixie had to whistle in envy. "Teleporting a whole fleet, now that's something." She said, watching the debris from the other fleet plummet towards the earth.

”Wait!” Gilda cried out, reaching for the others as they took off towards the ruined city on the hill. With a grunt and bat of her wings, she lifted from her spot and shot out after them, calling the whole while. ”Not seriously thinking of going there!? What if that thing comes back!?” Though her attempts at reasoning appeared to fall upon deaf ears.
Gilda stopped dead in the air as she, and the others, watched as an entire fleet suddenly vanished without a trace. What, she wondered to herself, was going on to make everything suddenly so crazy. She wasn't even entirely sure her eyes saw what she believed they had just seen. ”Teleporting?” She inquired as she finally caught up with the other three, hoovering in the air above them. ”You're telling me somepony just teleported all those ships? Where the Tartarus to!?” Though she couldn't wait for answer as Trixie pushed onward with stout resolution, something in Canterlot was pulling her – not even to mention Spike's shock induced catatonic state to find his friend.
The griffon came up beside the galloping Trixie, keeping pace just a little higher than Spike sat upon her back. ”Hey, Scales, snap back to us. I'm sure your purple horse friend is fine – she's dealt with things worse than a little city razing, right? Maybe she was the one who did that teleportation trick? Chance others were teleported to wherever – safety, or something, too?” Since it seemed nothing would change their minds to find out what happened in Canterlot, Gilda begrudgingly continued following. Whatever they were to find in what remained of now the smoldering city, Gilda figured to herself that it will at least be a sight to see and perhaps maybe find something useful – though now she was regretting leaving that sack bits back at the armorer's shop. Though, this means she might be able to get it back, if it wasn't vaporized in the blast. Today just might end on an up-note afterall.
