Gilda seemed perplexed by the Diamond Dog's assumption she wasn't fine, "Uh... yeah, why?" What was this dog going on about, he looked absolutely perturbed by her and she had no idea why. Someone needed to relax before he got himself an ulcer, that much she knew.
What she didn't know was that a Diamond Dog could read! And even more shocking, read some ancient langue from a forgotten tomb! Gilda was flabbergasted as she watched and listened - was he messing with her? Her beak hung open, slacked from her inability to articulate what she had just witnessed. This was weird. "Wait, you can read that? You're not just messing with me, that's what it actually says? Since when could Diamond Dog's read, much less ancient squiggly lines!?" She was legitimately not trying to come off sounding racist, she was just clearly ignorant that Bowie's kind could understand something civilized - but then again, Bowie wasn't the typical Diamond Dog. "You're a total egghead, aren't you! Hah! Never would have guessed it, you're lame in a whole new way, but eh, I can dig it. Don't have a some spectacles in that vest of yours too, do you?" She playfully teased, "So 'red rose', maybe it's a pony name or cutie mark? Let's check the tapestries, you get one side, I'll get the other." She motioned for Bowie to check the leftside, while she went right, padding along the wall, inspecting the tapestries, looking for anything that may be indicative to a 'red rose'. Gilda figured that maybe there was a certain word or phrase that may be the key and all they had to go on for a start was whatever this 'red rose' was.

Bowie scowled at Gilda, "You do realize Equiterian is the mother tongue for all Diamond Dogs." He said flatly, turning away from her towards the tapestries, "Didn't know how ignorant griffons were these days." He was looking at a tapestry showing what appeared to be a unicorn leading other ponies through a valley of some sorts. The art itself was very intricate, not plain at all, but it lacked color, as though it was telling a general story.
"I can't make out anything from this. It's just art, maybe it's supposed to tell a story? I don't know, maybe we should rest first... we've been through a lot... maybe it'll be easier to figure this out when we wake up." The dog rubbed his eyes, looking for a soft spot to rest his head on, there was none. he removed his vest and placed it as some sort of pillow, a very lumpy pillow with all of the gems in it. He hugged his sword to his person as he lay down. "What a day..." He muttered to himself.

"Yeah, of course I realize that... just not that, you know, read - I don't have to explain myself to you!" Gilda responded, at first sheepishly, then with defensive agitation. She really didn't know that little fact, or in the very least recall ever having learned it. She fumed at his jab at griffons, if she were a dragon, a small puff of smoke would have erupted from her nostrils. Indignant little cur.
Gilda sighed, glancing over the tapestry opposite the one Bowie was in front of. She could hardly believe he wanted to rest already when there was such cool things still left undiscovered in this place. "Come on, dude!" She turned to face him, ruffling with her wings as she pretended to limber up. "The night is young and you got to be excited to find out what's behind the door - how can you think of sleep at a time- are you even listening to me anymore?" She asked, perturbed by his insistence to rest against the cold grey ground.
"Ugh, fine. Be that way. Guess my eyes could use a minute off." She went to the corner by the door, plopping onto her back after adjusting her wings for comfort - they were always in the way in tight spaces. She crossed her legs and curled her tail around her side, while reclining back against the puzzle door, talons clasped behind her head for cushioning. "Be a pal and don't try an' kill me in my sleep." She said in a stifled yawn. "You closed the door right...?" With a few deep breaths, she closed her eyes while her head danced with the thoughts of Equiterian treasures.

When they awoke it was still completely dark, in the tomb, waking up in a dark, closed environment was probably the most uncomfortable thing Gilda could ever think about, being a Griffon. She felt almost as if she was buried alive, constricted and bound. She felt a desperate need to head outside and had to force it down. Bowie however, seemed completely refreshed, probably having spent most of his life sleeping underground in completely dark areas.
"Let's start with the tapestries again," Bowie said, handing Gilda one of the gems off his vest, apparently one that fell out and he had been just lodging it between several strands of cloth. "You take that side, I'll take this one and please don't start acting weird again, alright?"
At that the two split up, Bowie looking over tapestries on his own side while Gilda was on the opposite. Which Tapestry to examine? As she approached her first, she felt her eye spark to life again and suddenly she was once again in a completely foreign environment.
This time she was outside an outpost of sort... the area around her looked familiar, was this Froggy Bottom Bog? Did the Equiterians make it that far into Equestria? She was looking at the blue pony standing at the entrance, now he was a magistrate. A magistrate? Equiterian Magistrates were among the most powerful battlemages ever, capable of magic that could topple civilizations, when working in tandem there was probably nothing in the world they could not overcome. Or so the stories told. The now golden armored pony was standing just outside the outpost while a group of what appeared to be armor suits with pony head helmets were making a phalanx at the entrance. Hollow Armor golems, they've been very common finds in Equiterian Ruins she knew, the most basic of guards for the timeless treasures within. She never understood the concept of making a hollow suit of armor as a golem.
She noticed another golem standing near the pony, when the golem reached up and pulled off its head, just to have another one underneath it.
There was no freaking way.
Never in her life did Gilda imagine, not that she gave it much thought but even if she did, that those hollow suit golems were not always golems. Their shape, their structure it all made perfect sense now. The hollow armor golems, were in fact, real armor suits... for Diamond Dogs...
The Diamond Dog and the pony were talking as equals! That would mean... the majority of the Equiterian land armies, once thought to have been golems... were... Diamond Dogs? What does this mean?
Gilda snapped out of it, looking around at the phalanx troops, they quickly withdrew and patted each other on the back, apparently they had just been through a successful exercise in repelling invaders. She couldn't understand what they were saying, but that's what it looked like. The blue pony seemed unconvinced, perhaps even worried. One could only wonder if he knew that soon his entire civilization will be wiped out without a trace.
At that another pony joined them, Gilda's jaw dropped again. There was no mistaking the pony, despite some incredible cosmetic changes to her appearance. Instead of long braided mane she had hers short and brushed, her fur was no longer thick but rather trimmed and smooth, showing her rippling muscles underneath. This was Rosenrot, she stood besides the pony, her side rubbing against his... what?! Did he not JUST destroy her entire civilization?!
At that the vision ended, this time, fortunately, not leaving a painful stinging in Gilda's eye. She needed a few moments to process what she just saw.

Gilda was once more spirited to another time, another place, away thanks to the magic of her, but only her mind left her, leaving Bowie to ponder in trembling uncertainty the choices he made leading him up into this point - trapped with a griffon that would seemingly become enthralled and detached from reality when looking upon mildewed and faded tapestries. If he could only see what she was witnessing.
After a few moments, she snapped back into the present, pressing the palm of her talon against her forehead. This was cool and all, but the inundation of information was getting to be a bit much. She hurriedly looked to Bowie, pointing to the tapestry, "It's Rosenrot - working with Diamond Dogs and... bah, give me a second. Feel like some lame pony has been bucking my brain with some wicked history; it's school all over again." She commented, "Anything interesting on your end?"

"It's old tapestry that doesn't even show anything in particular." Bowie said, "I don't get it, Equiterians were known for their fondness of unnecessarily decorating things. What's with this place? I can't even really make out stories from this it's just the unicorn standing here, the unicorn standing there... I don't get it!" Bowie sighed, "Doesn't help that you're travelling between dimensions in your head or whatever." He commented at the griffon.

Gilda rolled her eyes, it was sad seeing the Diamond Dog so frustrated - she imagined Diamond Dogs would get frustrated easily at a lot of things, they were after all, a little slow in the head. She approached the frustrated furbag and bumped him out of the way of the tapestry to get a better look for herself. "You're just jealous, here, let me give it a shot. Watch a professional at work."
She turned her eye to the tapestry, waiting for the vision to draw her in. She'll put an end to the question of who this unicorn is or isn't. She knew that if this was that blue magistrate unicorn from the other one, then maybe this scene will reveal the connection between him, Rosenrot, and this tomb. Was it his? Was it Rosenrots'? The door puzzle did mention a 'rose' and 'rose' plus 'nrot', was it her, was she the key?

And once again she was elsewhere, this time, in a very large city. The Equestrian banner was flying over a building, torn and shredded. The magistrate was destroying pretty much anything that came across his path as he progressed through the sprawling metropolis. This was a later memory for sure, this time his magistrate's armor seemed different, customized rather than standard issue. He was again fighting alongside Diamond Dogs, but they also seemed to be bearing different armor than before. This memory was strange, Gilda did not see any Equiterian formations or weapons at all. A great shadow fell down upon them as something swooped through the air above and she was back in the tomb.

Gilda was snapped out of the latest vision quite suddenly, like waking from a nightmare. She nearly fell back on her haunches as the last fleeting image of the shadow roused her back into the tomb. She shook her head once more, knocking her senses back into line.
"No idea about that one." She bluntly stated, "Some sort of siege - everything seems to disjointed. There's two figures that keep popping up though, a blue unicorn who is one of those magistrates, pretty crazy. Then there's another pony, Rosenrot... not sure how her infamous flank is connected to all this. Did they ever teach you some Diamond Dog history in your - whatever?"

"Warren? Yeah, why? And who's this Rosenrot you keep mentioning? I don't see any female pony anywhere on here." The dog growled with frustration, "I don't get it, are you seeing something I don't? Hang on..." The dog suddenly tensed, "I smell something... it's coming this way!" He quickly jumped behind a bust, pulling Gilda with him and quickly turning off his gems. Something was coming, Gilda heard the sound of hoofclops. Was it a pony paying their respects?

Gilda didn't have time to explain, instead she ushered Bowie to a point that was obscured to whoever suddenly decided to interrupt their history lesson. She signaled for the Diamond Dog to draw his sword, while she readied herself to assault the new - pony? Hooved creature with her talons if the need be. She hunkered opposite Bowie, waiting in silence, for the new creature to approach.

"This ROCK is the tomb of the GREAT and POWERFUL Destrier? Trixie refuses to believe one of the greatest heroes of Equestria could be buried in such a dump." A haughty voice came from the top of the stairs, followed by a gruff young voice.
"Come on, this is the place, I know it - you won't be disappointed!" At that the hoof steps came nearer, clopping down the stairs along with the small patter of feet. Gilda, of course, recognized one of the voices immediately, that snot nosed dragon runt that hung out with Twilight Sparkle... what was he doing here and who was he with?
"Destrier?" Bowie whispered next to her, "No way..." He said, looking at the nearest tapestry... "Here of all places?" A sudden realization struck him, "He knew, he knew who I was... how...?"
Hiding behind the busts, Bowie and Gilda peeked around the statues as the pony descended, "It's a little dark here... this displeases Trixie." The unicorn said with bravado as she conjured up one of her fanciful spells to light up the area. As though the entire tomb responded, orbs of light emerged from the walls, floating about, illuminating everything... of course Gilda and Bowie as well...
"Hey!" Trixie called out in surprise, noticing Bowie, "Get out of here you smelly dog!" Bowie took very obvious offense to that.
"Who are you calling smelly!" He shouted from behind the bust, growling.
"Don't you know this is a place of burial? How disrespectful can you lot be?" Trixie replied in turn, but Spike froze. No way, that Diamond Dog, it was... it couldn't be... but it was, exactly the way he looked in his dream. When he snapped back to, Trixie was already preparing a spell to throw at he Diamond Dog.
"No wait! He's supposed to be here!" Spike called out, "I don't know why, but he is... but then..." He spotted Gilda's tail peeking out, "Gilda?" All of them, everyone he dreamed of, something led him here, he was sure of that now... the fate of all Equestria, nay, the world could hang in the balance now... what to do?

Bowie was about as subtle as a dragon with tourettes and with the fortitude of a wounded shrew. Did he really just get insulted by a blue unicorn with a mouth the size of her ego and a purple baby dragon? Really, she trained him better then that. Gilda face taloned, this wasn't happening. Least they weren't likely to attack them - never imagined the purple dork's assistant was really the type to get violent. Trixie, however... she was just annoying. Already Gilda could tell they would get along swimmingly.
Gilda stepped out from less than stellar hiding spot, of course her tail would give her away. Always the betrayer. "'Sup, purple pipsqueak, still as lame as last time?" She sneered, then stopped Bowie from getting hot under his collar, "Down boy, down, or I'll get the rolled newspaper." Turning back to the two new comers, "Just so we're clear, the Destrier is ours, we were here first. Totally calling dibs -" Gilda then leaned over towards Bowie and whispered, "Destrier, like the THE DESTRIER? As in awesome freaking armor Destrier?" Smugly she turned back to the pony and whelp of a dragon. "Yeah totally ours, so you can turn your butts around and walk into a patch of Poison Joke else we're going to have to get violent - my friend here might not look like much but he's a vicious junk-yard dog, ain't that right?" She nudged Bowie, "Show 'em your war face, Bowie."

Bowie scowled at Gilda, "My war face? I'm not going to fight them about who's going to rob a stupid tomb." He growled at the Griffon, "But I have a feeling they're not here to rob it either, are they? You, dragon, how did you know where to find this? Why do you say I'm 'supposed' to be here?"
"Excuse me, but it is Trixie who is running things here, therefore it is Trixie who shall ask the questions. So I ask this..." She said most regally, then turning to Spike with her voice slightly lowered, "How DID you know that?"
"It's, well... I ... Okay, look I don't know anything about what's going on okay? I'm just... I had a dream and you were all in it!" As Spike explained the details of his dream, the feral dragon with the drake horde, the floating helmet and then the three he saw in his dream, all of which now standing before him.
"Then you're Destrier's offspring?" Bowie asked Trixie, of course the imagination was there, the same coat color, similar facial structure, remarkable how dominant Destrier's traits were to be preserved so far down in the bloodline. "I'm Silverback's... but that means... YOU!" He pointed at Gilda accusingly, "You're a Whitefeather aren't you?"
"Really? A walking carpet and a scruffy looking Roc herder?" Trixie asked in some disappointment, of course she herself was just a wondering show-pony and not a very good one at that... She had been studying under Watermark and it helped, but she had yet to graduate and quite frankly, wasn't much better off than she was when she started, other than a sense of humility when regarding Watermark and Red Charge.

Gilda rolled her eyes at Bowie's refusal, "Fine - be lame." She respond curtly, looking a peeved and dejected by Bowie's lack of incentive to perform her perfectly executed bluff. She'll have to teach him the proper way to put on a poker face in their next training session.
Gilda listened as the little whelp explained himself, groaning as Trixie butted in with her verbose and flaunting tone of voice. She had a hard time believing this encounter was some sort of providence, coincidence, sure - why not? But prophesied? She felt like gagging at its sappy, cliche connotation.
Gilda shrugged, feigning being ashamed by the revelation. "Guilty as charged, surprised the eye shadow didn't give it away sooner."She bemused, "Before wandering aimlessly in search of something, do a little research on it first." She pat Bowie in the head, like he was a dopey puppy. "I was gonna tell you eventually, but this was more fun. Also, I don't like talking about it. It normally brings trouble, case in point-" Gesturing to Trixie and Spike.
"Hey!" Gilda shot an outstretched and scolding talon to the blue unicorn. "That's MISS.Roc Herder to you, sparkle flank. And for your information, just because Bowie appears easy to walk all over, he's still a very nice carpet. Little courtesy around here goes a long way, dweeb... also, still calling dibs on whatever is in here."
