Name: Blue Yonder
Gender: Stallion
Age: Adult
Species: Pegasus
Pelt Color: Blue piebald
Mane/Tail Color & Style: His mane and tail are both a dusty blue. They're both naturally long and floppy, but Yonder keeps his mane cut short and styled up in a mohawk-ish look - trendy AND it keeps the blasted thing from getting in his face!
Eye Color: Green
Cutie Mark: A waterspout (a.k.a. a water tornado)
Residence: None, formerly Trottingham
Occupation: Wandering adventurer (and ex-pirate)
Talents, Skills: His special talent is to handle wild weather. Having lived his life first as an ordinary sailor and then as a sky pirate, he's got plenty of experience sailing both nautical and air ships. He's also got some combat experience as well.
Likes: Females of all shapes, sizes, and sorts. Sailing. Being a gentlestallion. Danger. Shiny things.
Dislikes: Boredom. Being forced to do things against his code. Cowardice. Abuse of females.
Character Personality: Outwardly, Blue Yonder seems like a brash, reckless pony. He loves doing things others see as insanely dangerous, and is quite the adrenaline junky. He's also an absolute FLIRT: if it's female (and not too young for him), Yonder with flirt with it. No exceptions. He's hardly a playcolt - his flirting is generally limited to compliments and gushing appreciation of whatever the female creature's attributes are (like the gleam of a Diamond Dog's fur, or a female griffon's luxurious plumage), but if the female ends up
interested, Yonder is perfectly happy to follow through.
Under this flashy exterior lies the sterling heart of a gentlestallion. He's got a code of honor and while he can be forced to go against it
sometimes, the ones who make that happen will find Yonder to be a devil on four hooves. Yonder's code includes chivalry, and anypony who abuses or insults a female in his presence is in trouble. Otherwise, Yonder is quite comfortable with himself as a pony and doesn't apologize for his oddities.
Bio (optional) : Blue Yonder was born and raised in Trottingham. From early in life, he wanted to be a sailor and go exploring distant lands like nothing else, and signed up as a cabin colt on one of the merchant ships that sailed the waters even before he'd earned a cutie mark. Yonder actually earned his cutie mark on that maiden voyage - the ship fell afoul of bad weather and the young pegasus took it upon himself to fly into the storm and bust up a waterspout that was threatening to sink the boat.
Yonder spent many happy years going from ship to ship, eventually exchanging boats that sailed the waters for the much larger airships that trailed the skies. He was working on a griffon airship when it was attacked by sky pirates. While most of the crew flew away for their lives, Blue Yonder (who was first mate) and the griffon captain stayed behind to buy the others more time, and were captured by the pirates. The pirates gave both of them a choice: join their pirate crew, or get tossed over the side with broken wings. Yonder was ready to fight hoof and wing to avoid either of these fates, but the griffon captain ordered him not to throw his life away (the captain himself pretended to join as well, then with Yonder's help he escaped in the night to go get help).
Over the next year, Yonder made a name for himself as "Wild" Blue, one of the most insanely reckless madpony pirates around. Flinging himself into huge danger whenever it presented itself...it was mostly an act, as Yonder
hated being forced into this life, and this was the best plan he had to sabotage their activities. His actions DID manage to alert the griffon authorities as to where this particular pirate crew was based. As a result, when griffon warships tracked down the crew and demanded their surrender, "Wild" Blue flying right over on his own wasn't seen as unusual. What the pirates didn't know was that Yonder promptly surrendered and gave the griffons all the info they needed to blast the pirates out of the sky for good.
He was arrested for piracy in the process, of course, but during his trial a surprise witness managed to clear Yonder's name and honor - the griffon captain! Having had his share of sailing for the time being, Blue Yonder decided to head off on his own for a while, flying around and having adventures on his own terms.
