Yet despite the distance they had covered, the music had not grown fainter, not one bit. Baxter barely heard himself talk over it. "You can do a whole lot of things, but later." Ice Fang said, still running, shoved Baxter so he would keep going, "Don't stop yet, not until we get to a river." He instructed, Icingdeath now appearing in its sheath as it did whenever it was summoned by him. They ran like this for a long time, Ice Fang not saying another word to Baxter until they've reached a soft flowing stream, in which Ice Fang shoved Baxter and immediately jumped after him, instructing him to move upstream. If they were followed, their pursuers would not be able to catch their scent and would either keep going downstream or past the river.
After a while walking up the river, Ice Fang veered towards the Griffon Border, and finally they could rest for a moment. During that entire time, the music chased them, as though whoever was playing it was right behind them the whole time.
"So yeah, what the Hay was that? What kind of archer are you?" Ice Fang asked. "Did you see how big his knee was? How do you miss that?"

Baxter could only barely make out what Ice Fang had said over the music, which had decided not to go away once they had left Fillydelphia. The archer, still stressed over what he had done, merely followed Ice Fang's lead, doing exactly as he told. They made it to a stream, navigating up it for a good ways before finally exiting and taking a moment to rest.
"I... I don't know. I just, I couldn't..." The wolf buried his head in his knees in embarrassment. He really had no explanation, no excuses. He had screwed up, that was all that could be said. At least they were away from Sharp. "I'm really sorry. I-" The wolf broke off mid sentence, the music now having become so loud he couldn't even hear himself speak. It was starting to make it hard to concentrate too. "Where the heck is that music coming from?!" he said angrily.

Ice Fang stared at him for a few seconds, "What're you talking about Bax?" He asked. Oddly enough, while not blocking any noise the music did not let up. "There's... nothing here..,?" Ice Fang asked, looking at Baxter strangely for another moment and then relaxing back.
"Ugh, who'd have thought? Bet the ponies are dancing their hooves off now that my unit's out of the fight. Poor saps." He said, turning back to Baxter, "Oh that's right, you hate them." He grinned, "Come on, they're nice folk." Ice Fang said, "I bet they'd like you if you got near them. Maybe get yourself a feisty pony mare, eh?" He joked, yawning. "Well this has been quite a day. Now we just need to pick up Sammie and Maxime and we'll be on our way to adventure life in the Griffon Kingdom."

Baxter gave Ice Fang a confused look when his friend said he hadn't heard the music. "You... don't hear it?" It was playing loud and clear in his ears. He had no idea what it was, but he definitely wasn't making it up. "Organ music. It's been playing ever since we got to Sharp's tent, and hasn't let up since. If anything it's gotten louder." The wolf thought for several seconds, glancing down at Winter's Breath before looking back up at Ice Fang. "Maybe I'm just going insane," he said sorely. "That's another thing I can add to my recent accomplishments."
Baxter let out a huff when Ice Fang mentioned the ponies, especially when he mentioned finding a pony mare. "Gag me. At least your men won't get killed when they retaliate and die for nothing." The wolf stood up, rubbing his eyes. "Let's just find Sammie and Maxime. I'm ready to be done with this whole thing."

"Oh no you're not. We need to have a little talk first." Ice Fang said with a grin. "After all, I got my weapon, but you still shot me in the leg. You know I could have died, you too. Luckily due to my sake we both survived, again. So now, it's time we made a couple of things clear." The larger Winter Wolf grinned. And talk they did, Ice Fang taking the opprotunity to milk Baxter's guilt into making him his sidekick, more like his servant really. He certainly didn't give him a single chance to talk, not even enough to finish an idea.
Baxter was in debt to him, from back to front, until such time as Ice Fang released him from it. The way it seemed, it wasn't going to be soon. At least now they were safe, at least now they were home free.
