Likes: Lemon scented cleaning products, strawberries, smooth jazz, headbands, and the library.
Dislikes: Swimming, walnuts, shrimp, the sound of other ponies grinding their teeth, sharing drinks.
Character Personality: Stitches is very adventurous for a pony living in Canterlot. Not the adventurous that would climb a mountain or skydive, but she often gets mixed up in sticky situations by being just a bit too naïve- but then refuses to untangle herself from said mess until she can do something to help. Though, when helping other ponies she tends to stray from doing what they need or ask, as she believes in every situation there is a third option that can always benefit both parties, and sees it as her duty to achieve it if others are incapable or unwilling. She’s very hard headed and will never stop trying when faced with a conflict, and will unintentionally condescend people to get her point across or get her way. Overall she is a very friendly pony, and most other ponies do admit she causes them to feel a bit protective, finding it necessary to protect her sugar-coated ideals about the world- not finding it necessary to break her vision of a perfect world just yet, as it gives many of them hope. She also tends to get very snippy if ponies disturb her while performing medical procedures and will even threaten others.
Biography: Stitches’ parents were both farmers when she was born, as were her four older brothers. On that giant farm cuts, bruises, and all manner of more serious injuries were very common, and going to the nearest doctor to get them all taken care of cost quite a bit of money. Initially Stitches had been named for the big stitches that her mother had to get in result of her birth, but it only became all the more fitting when she decided she wanted to become a doctor.
Becoming a doctor became the perfect solution to their problem, and would save her family a ton of money that they could then put back into the farm- so from the time she was a tiny filly she began to study medicine. It started with the basics of the standard organic body, and then medicines, and then the science behind illnesses- she studied day and night waiting for the day when she could grow up big and tall and go to Medical School.
There was one day, on a hot summer afternoon that a tractor had fallen over onto the leg of her oldest brother. Both her parents were out, and her three other brothers were panicking- not knowing what to do. Stitches took charge, instructing them on how to pull the tractor without further damaging his leg, and then taking him inside to force the bones back into place, clean the wound that had been made, and stitch it up. Only afterwards, when her parents came home and they were all sitting around her brother’s bedside did her mother point out the cutie mark that had not been there when they left.
That was when they finally accepted their only daughter leaving the farm, and leaving the countryside, to go to school in the big city when she was a teenager. At first she had a bit of trouble fitting in with the classy ponies of Canterlot but made herself at home in the library of her elite medical school. She hadn’t understood when she was just a little filly how many branches of medical science there really was! One did catch her eye as the years passed. She wanted to become an army doctor.
Being in the heart of Equestria she had become quite attached to the concept of the military they had, but worried about what happened to them once battle became necessary, or they had to go to war. Being an army doctor seemed like a guaranteed way to save lives, and that was really what she wanted to do more than anything.
So she took an exam once she graduated, but was denied. For three years she tried to get accepted as an army doctor but was told she would never make it if she was such an emotional and friendly pony. That they didn’t need a friendly doctor, they needed a fast acting doctor.
Swearing to spite them and show all of Equestria that she WAS the best medical worker in the world, she became a freelance doctor, travelling every so often and giving medical treatment to those in need… with NO questions asked.
And that was how she began to run into trouble.
