The road that led to Ponyville was empty at this time of day, except for two ponies trotting towards the town. Silver Ripple, a brown stallion with a camera lens cutie mark, was pulling the Art Cart - the small cart that held both pony's tools of the trade, as well as traveling provisions and a small tent. Doodle Splodge, the artistically inclined orange pony whose cutie mark was a crossed pencil and paintbrush, trotted alongside him chatting aimlessly about things they passed.
A short while later, they trotted into Ponyville's market square, where Silver gratefully unhitched himself from the cart and rolled his shoulders. "That cart seems to get heavier every time I pull it..."
"That's probably because every time you pull it, there's more in it." The observation was muffled as Doodle unpacked the cart, gripping things in her teeth as well as floating them out with her unicorn magic. Silver started to help, and soon they had converted the Art Cart into a small stall with the sign 'Artist for Hire' pinned on the front.

The gray mare called Nexus by most wandered aimlessly about Ponyville. She was in town for a few days before heading out on a little cave-dive to let off some stress. Leery of the Everfree and the memory of the encounter therein, the spelunker had settled for a less dangerous cave not too far from the town she now found herself in.
The day was young; quite young, in fact, as the sun had just risen over the horizon. Despite the low light level, Tunnel Nexus wore her trusty sunglasses, accompanied by a cocky grin. Without anything to do until later, she was a free mare, and she planned to make full use of her time.
While ambling through the market there weren't many things that grabbed her attention. Most of the vendors were selling produce or some other good; none of those were very exciting. At last something worthy captured the focus of the explorer: a little stand that read "Artist for Hire." That seemed rather unique. Why not give it a go, maybe she could even get a cool picture of herself done.
With an air of outward confidence, Tunnel trotted up to the art stand and simply started examining it, as well as the ponies behind it. They seemed like a decent pair.
"What's up?" asked Nexus, her tone casual, as though she'd known the two artists for years.

Doodle looks up as the mare approaches, Silver being preoccupied with looping the strap of his camera over his head. "Hi! What's up, nothing much, we've only just arrived." She gives the unicorn a smile and tilts her head towards the various canvas paintings and sketches on display. "See anything you like?"

"Not much? Just got into town, eh? What are you doing here? Moving in? Stopping by?" asked the gray pony rapid-fire. She leaned against the cart like it was her second home, looking at the artwork arrayed before her. She picked up one or two for a closer look. They weren't that bad, actually. These ponies put a lot of effort into their art, it seemed.
"Come to think of it, I don't know your names. Mine's Nexus," stated the unicorn, looking expectantly at the two through her shades.

"Yeah, we've just arrived. We're staying here for a few days then moving on to the next town." The orange mare looked over at her companion. "I'm Doodle Splodge, this is-"
"Silver Ripple. Enchanted to meet you." Silver inclined his head in greeting, and then went back to adjusting the straps of his camera's harness.

Grumpy. Oh, how grumpy the little brown mare had become. Her stop in Hoofington had not gone as planned, and she had to keep moving on. This meant a meager breakfast and then back out into the cold. GingerSnap swore by the end of this journey she would have a permanent indentation of her pack across her back. Or it could just be the winter weather, never was her best time for attitude. Finally with one more kick of a rock she could see Ponyville.
Finally! GingerSnap trotted with a little more spring in her step into the main square. Smells wafted through as ponies made their morning meals. This perked her up even more and forget her numbed ears and nose. She noticed three ponies over by a cart and decided it was probably the best place to start on navigating this new town. Good Morning! She grinned

"Only staying for a few days... Reminds me of somepony else," teased Nexus, her tone about as sharp as a butter knife. "Me, that's who. You two seem pretty chill, so I guess if you wanted we could hang around while we're here. You never know what might pop up."
The spelunker lapsed into silence for a bit as she continued looking at some of the works on display, hoping to alleviate the boredom she felt while waiting around in the small town. A tempting idea occurred to her, perhaps of commissioning a picture of herself (in an awesome pose, of course). She was about to ask their prices when another pony approached the small group.
"Hm? Oh, hey," acknowledged Tunnel. After a brief pause she continued casually, an undercurrent of boredom lacing the mare's speech. "You know, you look a little tired. Got a problem? Need something?"

Ginger Snap nodded her head, her green and red mane bouncing slightly with the movement,I was curious if you could point me in the direction of food and perhaps a general store?
Her hooves started to ache a little from the journey but she had alot to do and little time to do it.I have a project I need to get done in Hoofington, but I am in need of supplies.
