Frowning thoughtfully at her sister, Luna tilted her head. "I don't see why you have to leave, Celestia." The mare looked a little peeved, and she snatched a cloth from out the air as her sister levitated it towards the trunk. Her childish pout hid her unsureness.
"Luna, please, let go of that. I told you already, I have to protect the Elements of Harmony." The alicorn turned to her sister, eyes pleading for understanding, even as the items continued to stream into her trunk. It was only half full, yet the mare had only seemed to pack a quarter of her possessions unto the oak trunk. "It won't be for long anyway, just until business is taken care of out there." Not waiting for a response from the softening sister, Celestia turned back to her case, quickly reshuffling things before a new layer of cloth, books and instruments entered the trunk.
Looking distinctly uncomfortable, Luna turned to look at some of the (as yet unpacked) instruments, carefully investigating each one. Some she reached out to touch, before pulling her hoof back at the immense power held within them, others, she could run her hoof over, only feeling the faintest residue of magic. Finally, after many moments of silence, Luna turns back to her sister, watching her watch each item enter the case. "Are you certain you must leave? I mean, really sure?" Her voice betrayed the slightest hint of nervousness, but that was enough for Celestia to whirl round, already reaching out for the indigo alicorn.
Luna accepted the hug, every bit the grouchy teenager in her attitude towards it. With a slender white hoof running through her long blue mane, Celestia spoke. "You'll make a fine ruler, Luna, just remember to be strong, and faithful to yourself." Pulling back, the taller had a small smile on her face, pride shining in her eyes.
The moment was ruined by the closing 'snap' of the trunk, and Celestia quickly returned to it. "The one finishing touch," she murmured, transporting 5 necklaces and a crown towards her. Luna recoiled, remembering her own demise at the hands of these objects, which radiated power. No sooner were these locked away, than Celestia was levitating her trunk towards the door of the room, rambling about simple inanities- unusual, but so was handing control over to your sibling. "-and don't forget to feed Philomina twice a day, she'll need wa-" Blinking at her sister in surprise, the white alicorn raised her eyebrows at her. The blue mare, was, for her part, having the decency to blush from the sisterly kiss she'd just planted on the other's cheek.
"Don't worry, Celestia, you know that I know how this castle works. Anything you want me to do before you leave?" Luna met the eyes of her sister, a small and nervous smile on her face.
Celestia pulled a scroll from nowhere, handing over the parchment ceremoniously. "Give this to Spike," she commanded, before loading her luggage into a carriage. "Make sure Twilight Sparkle gets it. Promise me."
Luna nodded, waving goodbye with a forehoof. "Of course, Celestia, I promise." She was still waving when Celestia's carriage disappeared on the horizon.
And now, Luna thought with a gulp, she was in charge.
