On mid-morning, during the second day of the festival, the King called for all artists and craftsperson to come display their works, be it painterly works or fine weapons and armor. The best of works, those deemed of cultural significance or thoughtful brilliance were to be commissioned by the King himself as part of the royal collection - the creator would even be hailed as this years royal artisan and awarded accordingly.
Admin: Anyone who wishes to participate in the arts competition; be it a picture or design, etc... may post their work so long as it is within the realm of ponies and griffons, preferably directly related to Celestial Divide. This should be a creative endeavor so please no plagiarism (I will check anything clearly not original).

Shut Eye was incredibly nervous to be performing his art. He had thought that he would be able to display his- as one of his friends said- 'masterpiece' to three or four judges in a private setting. Instead, when he filled out the entry form, he was directed to this open stage and told to prepare himself. Now the spots all around the raised platform were filling with ponies and griffins eager to see his performance art.
Swallowing his anxiety, Shut Eye closed his eyes and breathed in slowly through his nose and then out through his mouth. He kept glancing over to the griffin who was telling him to wait. He had a set time to begin and a time limit, but he didn't worry too much about going over that limit. He was more worried about rushing himself in his nervousness.
He blinked as he got the signal to go. He turned his head a bit and surveyed the audience. All conversation began to cease and soon the only sounds were the ambient noises of other parts of the festival. He opened his mouth for a moment as if to speak and greet the audience, but closed it quickly, deciding that it was best to just perform what they were all here to see.
Closing his eyes, Shut Eye focused and his horn began to glow with a pale green light. Beams of light began to flash from it and freeze in the air. The ends of the beams of green aura energy began to waver and flicker in the air as they slowly took shapes. The shapes began to move around in the air, forming a circle that slowly rotated above Shut Eye's head. A sphere, a cone, a cube, an upside down triangle, a cylinder, a pyramid, an elogated cube and a smaller sphere made up the collection of shapes, each one a different color with the green aura of Shut Eye's illusion spell compressed so tight to the shapes and faded so much so as to almost be indiscernable unless the viewer was intent on finding flaw.
As the orbited around him, the shapes would drift down and touch the tip of his horn one by one. Each shape would then play a low, pleasent note. It was a basic Do re me fa so la ti do, but after the second play of each note the shapes stopped orbiting in the air and began to come together. They jumbled up in the air, bouncing off of an invisible, imaginary outer boundary and each time they collided the colors would swap across the two shapes and both notes would play.
Instead of a cacophony of notes, a song was audible. It actually sounded like the same song being played in two different keys, producing a pleasent echo effect. It had a secondary effect that was not really intended by Shut Eye, but it did wonders for his confidence. Many of the young foals and fillies in the audience began to sing along with the oh-so familiar nursary rhyme.
"One, two, Polish my hoof; Three, four, hold open the door; Five, six, show off some tricks; Seven, eight, run out the gate: Nine, ten, return to the pen"
He played through the song twice, as was typical in any nursery in Equestria, then had the shapes slowly lower to the ground, stacking one on top of another to repeat the Do re me fa so la ti do and, after holding the high note for a second, the shapes began to vanish in reverse order, letting out a final note in Do ti la so fa me re do order. Shut Eye's horn stopped glowing and he opened his eyes. The audience gave him a standing ovation. Blushing, Shut Eye stood up and gave everyone a smiling bow then backed off the stage.
That went better than I thought he thought happily as he looked for the snack bar. He was hungry now.
