"Ouf! Come back here, please!"
It was probably the most amazing thing he'd seen in a while: Milktail was simply making a small stack of large edam cheese wheels to display in his shop when the top one slid off the stack, landed on end and began to roll through the back room, past the foyer, into the main part of the coffee bar and out the front door. Thankfully there were no customers inside the shop to see, but now Milktail had found himself outside the shop where surely someone would be looking at him chasing a red waxy cheese wheel. Oh dear, what would the customers think?
Milktail skidded to a halt when he saw the crowd outside his shop. he gave a wide grin and tipped a talon to his forehead in greeting to a lady passing in front of him. Once he was sure nobody seemed to be looking, he darted his head left and right. "Oh bother, I think I've lost it." He said aloud. Everygriffon outside looking at him certainly thought he had.

Valiant had decided he might as well get to know Royal Rocks a bit better. Who knew? Maybe he'd find a bite to eat on the way. As if the heavens had heard his thoughts, an entire cheese wheel rolled to a stop right in front of him. Valiant paused and looked around, hoping not to see someone looking for the cheese. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be that easy. The crowd was staring at a falcon-lion griffon frantically searching for something. Judging by the apron, he had to be the creator of the miracle cheese.
Valiant paused. To say he was tempted by the thought of free food was an understatement. His stomach was rather empty, as it repeatedly reminded him, but he had to do the soldierly thing. He had to return the cheese.
"Sir? Sir? I think you dropped this."

Milktail walked up to the young griffon with his eyes glowing. "Oh! You found it! Bless you young griffon!" He snatched up the wheel and tucked it behind the shoulder of his right forearm and wing. "I was sure someone would have snatched the thing up to eat. You are incredibly kind..."
More words like such continued to come from Milktail's mouth. Never before had a griffon been so grateful for getting a cheese wheel back. "...but I must be going on, um....I know, please come back with me to my shop. I will give you a reward for being such a honest young griffon."
Back inside Odio's Coffee bar, Milktail swiftly fixed Valiant a frothy beverage. It was one of his originals: a tiramisu flavored milkshake made thin...as there was no ice cream. "Here you are, and if you're able to stay a moment I will have some of this edam ready to eat as well..."

If griffons could blush, Valiant would be beet red by now. Though his parents loved him, he'd never received so many compliments in such a short amount of time before. He perked up, however, at the mention of food and followed the excited, older griffon to the coffee shop.
When his host had given him the milkshake, he didn't even ask what kind it was before slurping it up. At the mention of cheese as well, Valiant looked up with a milk mustache dripping from his beak. "Really? Thank you! Oh, sorry, I'm Valiant." He held out a claw. "And your name, sir?"

After a pause, he replied "Uh, my name is Milktail." After all there was no need to let him in on the fact he didn't really have a name, other than what shopkeeps around this center nicknamed him. "But, nevermind that, how was the milkshake? Still sweet I hope. I think the cocoa might be a bit old. To say nothing of the mascarpone...."
Milktail brought a talon to the table, leaving a large slice of the edam cheese Valiant had rescued along with a small stack of white table water crackers. "...It's high time I take that looooooong back down to Hoofington for fresh milk from the dairy....before all this turns to cheese..."
