Cutie Mark: Storm clouds shrouding around a sun.
Residence:
Occupation: A little hovel of a storm cloud just a quarter-mile from Cloudsdale.
Talents, Skills: Storm Shroud's cutie mark is that of storm clouds shrouding a bright sun, and so too are his skills that - Shrouding. While he never became enlisted in the Royal Guard, he applied his skills in cooperation with the Cloud Factory in drawing in stormy clouds for the storm-handlers to wrangle, bringing in those lovely cloudy days, and occasionally low-laying fog.
Likes: Foggy Days and Misty Mornings, the music made by his close friend, Willow Wind, and Carrot-Topped Broccoli Sundaes. Healthy food in general, and of course, Princess Luna's Royal Guard Regiment.
Dislikes: Junk food, too-sunny days, water (he can't swim) and Timber Wolves. For that matter he doesn't like the Everfree forest, either, but Timber Wolves scare him especially, due to a training-game gone wrong when he was a colt.
Character Personality: Storm Shroud is a fairly gung-ho type of pony, always looking to get jobs done, and stick to the rules while doing so. He's a pretty big stickler for the rules, though he's not above sliding under one or two if he thinks they're just a bit too ridiculous. Even if he can be a bit stern sometimes, he's a friendly pony, willing to lend a helping hand to those who need it. He loves his Elders, and is somewhat off-put by children due to childhood teasing. (Sleek and trimmed as he is now, he was quite the chubster when he was a colt!) Due to the fact that he's trained most of his life in order to become part of the Royal Armies and Regiments of the Princesses, he's missed out on quite a bit of his later childhood and teen years, leaving him somewhat socially inept. Tell him a knock-knock joke, and you'll get a confused look out of him. Ask him if he wants to go play hide and seek, and he'll more than likely turn it into a training course of some sort!
Bio (optional) : Storm Shroud is a rather androgynous pony, as you can see! When he was a colt, he hadn't lost his baby fat, making him stubby and silly looking when he flew. (Though aside the occasional loss of balance, he had no real problems in flying.) Growing up, however, he had high hopes to join Celestia's Royal Guard Regiments, and so he burned that baby fat right off! By the time he grew into his tail -- A joke around his friends and family, his mane and tail were always abnormally fluffy! -- he had trimmed himself out into a lean, sleek flying machine. Albeit a bit feminine in stature, though a minor oversight given his skills.
As far as his family and history goes, Storm Shroud was born to a lovely Mare named Stormy Hunt, a game hunter (for capture and study, not for kill!) who, true to her name, hunted mainly in the Everfree Forest. She's likely the one whom Storm Shroud owes his gung-ho personality to, as his Stallion of a father was a more peaceful soul, named Hailen Radius. He had the looks of a homely old bum of a pegasus, but was responsible for crafting excellent hail stones at the Weather Factory, constantly researching how to make them attain top velocity and pelt-i-ness, as he called it.
At a young age, Shroud was always a chubby colt, having inherited his grandfather's chubby old genes. (Poor soul - Said genes must have skipped a generation! His father was a twig, his mother was well built, yet his grandfather was as round as a pincushion!) For this he was often made fun of, and had troubles flying straight, not to mention he couldn't fly a very far distance when he managed to keep his balance.
Falling to the back of his class, however, he ended up meeting, and becoming friends with Willow Wind, who was a long-haired filly who also had troubles flying. Mainly in part to her hair, which had her tripping over herself near constantly. They had almost a solid year to develop their friendship, before Willow Wind's parents took her down to the ground, out of fear of her falling plum out of the clouds and harming herself.
Of course, before she left, they made a solemn oath to each other that they would meet again. Willow Wind swore that she would wait for Storm Shroud, while Storm Shroud, in turn, swore that he would better his flying and trim up so that he could visit her anytime he wanted!
As the taunting call of joining Celestia's Royal Regiments came into view, however, that sort of cut their plans short. Willow Wind remained on the ground, and as his attention drifted, he had nearly forgotten about the promise that was made. He rarely sees Willow Wind anymore, unfortunately, except for the rare few visits he gets to make when he has business laying out blankets of fog near her willow tree, and Ponyville's outskirts.
Storm Shroud's cutie mark is that of storm clouds shrouding a bright sun, and so too are his skills that - Shrouding. While he never became enlisted in the Royal Guard, he applied his skills in cooperation with the Cloud Factory in drawing in stormy clouds for the storm-handlers to wrangle, bringing in those lovely cloudy days, and occasionally low-laying fog.
Of course, with Princess Luna having returned, he now aims to enlist with Princess Luna's Royal Guard Regiment, hoping to apply his storm-cloud wrangling skills into stealth tactics. That is, should a war ever occur? Or perhaps he can use his talents to confuse and capture wild creatures? No.. Oh well. He'll find his true calling someday!
