Since the Pony-Griffin Alliance, the relationships between Griffins, Ponies, and even other species such as Hippocampi have been friendly, and there was a dramatic increase in inter-species romances. There have even been rumors of dragon couplings with Ponies, Griffins and Diamond Dogs.
However, due to genetic incompatibility, children for these couples became impossible. This was thankfully solved using magic, after extensive research. The ethical controversy of this was resolved when the King and Queen of Equestria, along with King Dreadwing, Silverback as well as Tidal Wave and Oceania, the Hippocampi monarchs have all agreed upon it.
Love must be the guide for our ethical path, and thus we must allow any couple, so long as they are deemed responsible due to the special circumstances, to have children.
Following is a list of the magical offspring one can expect from such interspecies couplings -
Hippogriffs - The children of Griffin and Pony, these have the hind quarters of a horse and the front part of a Griffin. The Griffin side being the dominant one.
Rarely one encounters the Leucrocota, bearing a feline's head and front paws on a horse's hind quarters. These are extremely rare, and are resulted by failed attempts.
Satires - The union of Diamond Dog and Pony - these horse legged are bipedal, with the top half of a Diamond Dog and the lower half of a bipedal horse.
Rarely one might encounter a Centaur, which has the lower body of quadrapedic horse, from the top of which a diamond dog torso and head emerge.
Winged Wolves - the offspring of Griffins and Diamond Dogs, the rear end of which belong to a canine, and the front end to a griffin.
Only one recorded case existed of the Bird-Dogs, Diamond Dogs bearing wings. It was spotted, but not interacted with. Whether he was capable of flight or not remains a mystery.
Theorized Dragon couplings -
Draconies - reptilian ponies with the armor and breath magic of dragons. Some old myths mention them as results of blood magic rather than procreation. There is no evidence of their existence, and the concept is waved off, due to the inability to alter Dragon D.N.A due to their magic resistance.
Draconequus - Only one reported case exists, the fearsome Discord.
Drifts - Dragon Griffins, exchanging the bird half of the griffin with a reptilian half. These however have been referenced vaguely in old hieroglyphs.
Diamond Dogs - We already know of the Flame Bearers, who are supposedly infused with Dragon Magic. Theorists claim that Dragons would probably have never wanted to give a Diamond Dog offspring with a dragon, due to fear of the power such an offspring would hold, that one might eventually break their chains. Ironic that it was a regular Winter Wolf that did so in the end.

Oh come on! Don't tell me you people don't know about kilins or kirins, too?? Depending on which parent has the stronger genes, the resulting union between a dragon and an equine is either a kilin (more equine) or a kirin (more dragon). If I get a dollar for everytime I explain this I'd be rich enough to buy all of the MLP:FIM Mane Six's toys!

Starshade, you're a spoilsport. Of course I was going to put those in! They just don't know about them yet! *sigh*

Oh interesting hybrids to say the least. But, I can't help but notice there are no draconequus-type species?
Suppose Discord could be a one-off species though.

Wow, all these different kinds of offspring are really interesting. I like how there's like a normal offspring, and then a rare offspring. But is there some sort of zebra-pony/zebra-griffin/zebra-dog offspring?

Watermark is a Zebra-Pony offspring. They come out either Zebra or ponies. On rare occasion there's a striped pony with zebra tail but they always retain dominance of either zebra or pony. So there's no striped pegasus or unicorn, and no flying zebra.
