Cloudy paced quietly in her hut, contemplating what she was about to do. She knew very well Trixie was learning illusion magic just as she was, and ever since her lesson with Watermark Cloudy was becoming more and more sure that illusionists should stick together to help each other learn. That meant only one thing, talking to Trixie. Ugh, what the unicorn would do not to approach her. Still, if the two of them banded together there was a better chance at both improving.
The blue pony sighed and gave in, picking up a piece of paper and a pencil with her magic and writing out,
Trixie, Meet me at my hut as soon as possible. I need to talk to you. Cloudy
Cloudy folded it in half and set off for Trixie's and Willo's hut. Hopefully Willo wouldn't pick it up before Trixie did, she might get suspicious. She placed it at the door and galloped off, soon reaching her hut. Now she just had to wait.

Trixie was trotting back from her latest training session in the woods with Watermark. She had long accepted the fact that nothing would ever completely meet Watermark's expectations, which Trixie knew tied in with his purpose to push his students to do better, but it still got frustrating at times. Either way, she learned a new and very effective technique of sculpting an image in her mind of the illusion she wanted to make. It still needed much more work, but it was a big leap from her earlier technique.
Trixie sighed as she turned the corner around the pyramid at HQ, on the path to the lodging area. A few of Watermark's golems crossed her path, on their way to go do who knows what. She waved hi to a few other cult members before she came up to the threshold of her and Willo's little hut. She loked down to find a hastily folded piece of parchment lying in the doorway. Most other ponies would see it as trash and ignore it, but Trixie's curiosity got the better of her. She picked it up with her magic and unfolded it, reading the short note under her breath.
She finshed reading and folded the paper up again, levitating it over to her bed, along with her saddlebags fron the day's excursion. She knew Cloudy. A navy blue unicorn with a poofy purple mane and glasses, she was also taking illusion lessons from Watermark. Though it seemed strange to Trixie that Cloudy was initiating this little meeting, as Trixie had the impression that cloudy didn't like her all that much. Nevertheless, Trixie had no problems with making new friends, and now she could finally have someone to rant about Watermark with.
She took a second to brush her hair and don her wizard cape and hat. The old clothes didn't suit her demeanor or career anymore, but she still liked to wear them, just because. She trotted back ut of her hut and onto the path again, Cloudy's hut was a little ways down the line, every time she went for a lesson with Watermark she would walk past all the other huts, and she had memorized who was where by now.
After a minute or two of walking at a casual pace, she reached Cloudy's hut. The single name plate that read 'Cloud D." facade showed that she had yet to share her hut with somepony else. She walked up to the doorway and gave a short knock, accompanied with "Hey Cloudy, it's Trixie. I got your note"

Cloudy adjusted a few things in her room quickly with her telekenises, neatening it up for Trixie. She always made sure she was a good hostess, and today should be no different. Once everything was to her satisfaction she stood in front of the door and just waited.
It didn't take long before Cloudy heard Trixie's voice. She opened the door with her magic, looking the unicorn that stood before her up and down. "Come in." Cloudy ushered Trixie in, motioning towards her bed. She shut the door behind the blue unicorn, looking her over. "Still wearing that outfit I see. You didn't need to come dressed up, and pride won't get you anywhere in our conversation." Her voice sounded dissaproving, though she didn't give Trixie any cold looks.
"Now, I wanted to call you here to talk about a sort of allience, or if we actually can get there, friendship. We've both been learning the same magic, illusion, and I'm sure that we're learning slightly different things about that magic. If we were to work together and teach each other what we've learned, we could both become better illusionists." All while Cloudy was talking she had been looking at Trixie, but now she changed to looking her straight in the eye. "Do you get what I'm saying?"

"Sorry about the outfit, it's just comfortable.." Trixie said, awkwardly shifting her gaze around the room before sitting herself down, withering under the cold glare from Cloudy. "If it's a problem then I can remove them..." She offered, no response. She was just about to strike up a conversation about Watermark when her thought process scattered at the mention of an alliance between her and Cloudy.
Cloudy was the last pony she expected to be making nice with. Trixie had nothing against Cloudy, but for some reason, Cloudy had regarded Trixie with nothing but cold looks and snide remarks. It was obvious that Cloudy didn't like Trixie, although she had no legitimate reason to. On second thought, Cloudy may be another pony who was relocated from an equestrian town or city to out here at the cult HQ, so she may have seen one of Trixie's numerous performances that no doubt offended more than a few ponies.
But anyway, an alliance would be most beneficial. Both Cloudy and Trixie were studying illusion magic, and they both study under Watermark with similar training and hurdles to leap over. Alliance furthers mutual goals.
"Yes, I do get what you're saying. And I'd be more than happy to gain your acquaintance."

Something was different about Trixie. She was apologizing, and what was that, modesty? Cloudy's straight mouth slowly curved into a smile. Using her telekinesis, she removed Trixie's hat from her head, unbuttoned her cloak and removed that as well. She sat down next to Trixie on her bed, reaching up a hoof to smooth down a few hairs from Trixie's mane that were rustled when the hat was removed. She smiled at Trixie fondly, as if the light blue pony was a friend she had lost and found again. "Welcome to the alliance."
Leaning down and putting her head under the bed, she looked around. "Tricky, where are you?" A few seconds later a chameleon ran over and nestled itself in Cloudy's mane, quickly turning purple. "There you go." The dark blue unicorn brought her head back up, facing Trixie once more. "This is Tricky, my pet." Cloudy reached up with one hoof to her pet and the chameleon climbed onto it. She turned navy to match the hoof. "She's really good at all sorts of different colors, she's what helped me really get good at being able copy colors." Tricky jumped from Cloudy's hoof and crawled across the bed to Trixie, changing to match her pelt color.
"Now... where did I put those cupcakes?" Cloudy muttered, jumping off the bed and looking around. She peeked under her bed, seeing the white box. "Ah, there they are." Using her telekinesis she carefully pulled it out and put it on top of her bed, opening the lid to reveal four perfect little cupcakes. "I got these from Sugarcube Corner the last time I went to Ponyville. I got a half dozen, ate two over the past few days. Help yourself... friend." Cloudy blushed a little, turning away from Trixie to hide it.
"I don't really have many friends... haven't had a best friend since..." Cloudy paused to think. "Since school. I mean, there's Fluttershy, but I never see her, she's got five friends she hangs out with, and Angel, I'm sorta friendly to her, but I hardly ever see her around the cult." She turned back to Trixie, sighing. "I don't know why I called you 'friend', I'd understand if you don't want to be friends."

Trixie returned the smile that Cloudy gave her with her joining the 'alliance'. She caught a small bit of movement in her peripheral vision, which she quickly looked to investigate. The small creature leapt up to Cloudy, who quickly explained who quickly explained what it was.
"They let you have a pet in here?" Trixie, for the first time since she had come to the cult, felt like she was being stiffed. She scrunched her nose for a few seconds in frustration before returning to her friendly demeanor. She would have to talk with either RedCharge or Watermark about that later. She ave a light-hearted giggle as the chameleon turned itself to the regal shade of blue that Trixie's coat maintained. "I can see how he could help you... I rely more on my own personal memory for colors and whatnot. I need to work on that, though."
When Cloudy mentioned Ponyville, Trixie's face darkened a bit. "Ponyville? Did you, ah, ever hear of a pony named 'Twilight Sparkle' during your time in that town? And don't mind if I do, thank you." She picked up a cupcake with her magic and took a bite, noticing Cloudy's light blush, she said nothing of it, though. Her mind shifted abruptly to that night in Ponyville, muting out Cloudy's words. She shook herself out of her memories soon enough to hear Cloudy wonder out loud why she had regarded trixie as a friend. "Why wouldn't I want us to be friends? I mean, bygones can be bygones, and a pony can change, can't they?" She offered the most rational response she could muster.

Cloudy smiled. "I knew you would understand. You have changed Trixie, but I like the new you a lot more." Cloudy picked up a cupcake with her magic and started to eat it, feeling much better. Tricky noticed that she was not being watched and walked away from Trixie. The chameleon burrowed herself into a cupcake, changing color to match the white cake.
"And, to answer your questions," Cloudy said after a few bites. "I never asked anyone about Tricky, but since I've never heard of allergies to a chameleon and she never causes any trouble I brought her. And I do know Twilight, but we're not close. And I know exactly why you want to know. I was at that show Trixie, and by house would have been destroyed that night if it hadn't been farther inward in Ponyville. You might have seen my house, its the giant green, blue, purple, and pink castle." The dark blue unicorn continued to eat her cupcake, leaving the responces at that. Cloudy could of said more, she at first thought Trixie might be some legendary unicorn, she had wanted to show up Trixie with her illusions because she knew she could do something Trixie couldn't, she didn't because if she did she might overly bad-mouth the boasting unicorn. It had taken so much will-power to not take on the pony who was being awful to other ponies in front of a crowd.
After Cloudy had eaten half her cupcake and felt less like she was going to explode with inner thoughts, she spoke again. "I'd be happy to teach you some of my secrets of illusions. How to memorize things with one look, how to tell apart shades of color even when there just the slightest greener, how to make sound and smell, maybe eventually what Watermark just taught me yesterday, how to make advanced illusions." She hoped she didn't sound like she was bragging, she was just trying to be helpful. It was how the other pony percieved the words that mattered the most.
