The weather sure is weird today... As the rain cascaded down across Equestria, Hoofington seemed to be getting the worst of the downpour. Most ponies where inside that day, smart enough to avoid the harsh winter rain, one however didn't seemed to be at all fazed. Adorned in a pink and green scarf a white female bounded down the streets at speed, her once bouncy mane dampened, its red strands framing her pale face.
As she slowed to an easier pace she started to hum to herself, a little rhyme soon following suit. "Down and down the water flows Now I'm watching where it goes!
Many droplets flying free Do 'you'? want to play with me?"
She grinned to herself, shaking her head from side to side. Her mane quickly fell from around her emerald eyes, only to end up in an even messier state around her neck. Sharky didn't mind however, in fact she barley noticed, instead her attention was taken by her scarf. It had been gripped by a strong gale and was ripped from around her neck, now blowing away quickly in the breeze.
"No! Come back!" she cried, breaking into a sprint to chance after her only source of warmth in this weather. She couldn't loose her scarf! Her grandma made her that!

Quillson slowly made his way back through the road of Hoofington, attempting to battle the incoming waves of sleet from the sky. He found it extremely odd to have rain in the middle of winter, but thinking about the obscurity did little to help against it. He tried to squint through the rain and make out any sights down the road, but decided it better to turn away from the onslaught of water.
Maybe he should just make a stop in a store. He already knew most of the ponies in town, and they would be fully willing to house him from the storm. But no need to bother anypony else. Surely they had better things to do than worry about Quill getting wet. I was at this point in his thoughts that Quillson noticed something flying through the storm towards him.
It didn't look like anything normal. More like a... flying snake? it twisted and dashed about in the wind, hurtling towards the pony in an unrealistic fashion. As it grew closer, Quill could finally tell it was a green and pink scarf. Surely somepony would be missing this!
He trotted up through the rain, catching the flying article of clothing with a quick hop off the ground. He looked down at the soaking piece of fabric, and heard a pony shouting in the distance. Soon enough, he spotted a frantic and drenched white unicorn with pink hair rushing towards him. Quill hadn't seen her before, but surely this was her scarf. Who else's could it be?
He stepped up through the rain, holding the scarf out towards the Unicorn. "This wouldn't happen to be yours would it?" He grinned towards the filly as cold strikes of rain hit him across the face.

She chased the fluttering blur for what seemed like a slow eternity she finally lost sight of her precious scarf, causing a frown to appear on her face. This alone was no deterrent to the filly, only forcing her to tun faster in a last ditch attempt to catch the flying fabric.
As she skidded her weight around a blockade of boxes had created, her eyes where forced to stop paying attention to where she was going, if only for a second. It seemed a second was all she needed to loose herself almost crashing into a colt who seemed to be standing in the center of the path. Instead she stopped herself by skidding to a halt beside him, her back end colliding with a lamppost.
As he spoke she felt herself let out a small squeak of joy, he had her scarf?! Oh this was brilliant. Although slightly shakily at first, she made her way over to the colt, a now hard to control bounce in her step.
"Oh thank you, Thank you, Thank you!" She grinned, taking the scarf from him gently before wrapping it around her neck once more, a grin quickly crossing her face. "I was afraid Id loose it forever!" She nodded, snuggling the fabrics warmth once more before a thought crossed her mind. "Im Sharky by the way, Sharky Heart if you wonna' get formal" She thought for a moment, looking back at him once more, waiting to find the name of the brave colt that had saved her poor scarf.

She seemed to come out of the storm with force, as if she'd just finished running some sort of wild race. As she skid to a halt next to him, Quillson turned to face the new pony. He was sure now he hadn't seen her before. Maybe she was new to town. Hoofington seemed to be having quite the influx of residents these days.
Quill returned his hoof to the ground as Sharky Heart retrieved her scarf and introduced herself. Quillson winced for a moment while the rain deflected off his face, quickly returning his attention to the unicorn. "It's a pleasure to meet you Sharky Heart! I'm Quillson Oatswrite." He raised his voice slightly to ensure he could be heard over the assaulting waves.
He glanced around in the rain for a moment, trying to figure out just how far down the road he had travelled. He coudln't be THAT far from the inn by now, but really how long had he been walking? His mind wandered, eventually wondering over just why this filly was in the storm herself. He couldn't remember seeing anypony else out and about.
"So, what brings you out on such a lovely winter's day?" he asked with a grin. Once again he thought about the strangeness of the winter time rain, but knew thinking over it would get him nowhere.
