Blown to pieces by the personification (avianification?) of the sky. Heck of a way to go, even for a city. And apparently the effects were felt much farther out - Hoofington, at least. Maybe all of Equestria. I wonder how far out you could see the effects? From the descriptions I wouldn't be surprised if it carried to the neighboring lands.
Shame what happened to Canterlot, but at least the ponies survived. Thank Luna for that - literally. But even with the pirate fleets gone, something tells me we're not out of the woods yet. Unless I'm much mistaken, Fillydelphia is still under Diamond Dog occupation, and that dragon with the drake army that took Ponyville is still at large.
And that's just the problems we've got now. I doubt the next threat will have the decency to wait until that's all sorted out before rearing its ugly head.

That. Was. Awesome!!!!! The sheer amount of powers those ponies wield with their Equiterian armor is truly something remarkable. Hopefully with the destruction of the Dreadtalon fleet and Blackmane, Canterlot can work to rebuild their defenses. Hoofington may be in trouble because its defenses were also eradicated by the emergence of the Sky Titan. Wait... why was Blackmane able to summon that great entity? Wasn't it called the Sky Titan? Anyway, I think Red has definitely done a great job writing the battle sequence. I got a feeling of grandness from the battle and a hint of the madness that it entailed. A great improvement, in my opinion. Lucky is right. We aren't out of this yet. We still have to deal with the Diamond Dogs and Dragons. But it is inspiring that Equestria was able to overtake two of its enemies. Both Blackmane and Chrysalis have been dealt with. You folks in the Military Outpost Hospital best get ready for the flood of wounded. As soon as you get back there... Excellent thinking on Luna's part to shield the citizens in the Crystal Caves. I bet the gems had something to do with why the magical energies did not annihilate everyone in Canterlot. Finally, I hope the war leaders can figure out what to do about the mysterious teleporting "Dreadtalon" Fleet...

Holy Horseapples, that sure was an ending. Dreadtalon and Blackmane gone, and the good guys left to lick their wounds and thank what was essentially a god for their good fortune. Now I really want to know what's going on with that impostor fleet. Maybe a super spec-ops division from the griffon government, or another independent faction that had a beef with Dreadtalon, who knows. I want Selenia to be part of the group that goes to find out.
On another note, do not let your guard down, Red. Selenia's still possessed and I don't want this to end badly. If all goes well, I want Red to finish his story.

Blackmane was truly one of the greatest villains in Equestria, reigning over pirate fleets for a millenium, levelling Canterlot, striking fear into the hearts of ponies all over... Truly a villain to remember.
If anyone is wondering what was going through my head when I wrote the Sky Titan scene... here it is -

Holy Horseapples, Red. You write novels for each of these plot posts. Glad to see Percheron doing better, he's a favorite of mine. Lots of exposition, and Luna is being a bit too optimistic imo. Whenever this plot line meanders to an end in like two years, I'm guessing it'll be some world-ending scenario epic boss battle with the sunhorse herself.

Awesome to finally see the pack alphas. Can't wait to see what happens to Bowie and the diamond dogs from here.

Wonder were this will go. Defeating the Adversary isn't going to be easy, though a united diamond dog nation would be interesting. wonder if they're going to join the alliance this time. with all the bad blood between them and the ponies/griffins its not very likely. Then again, bowie plans to defeat the adversary, if he can manage that that should give him the needed respect to pull it off.

While I am not experienced in this and have not had a lot of experience in the plot thus far, I will say it was very well written. The hamminess of the fight was surprising "blood is thicker than water" *pause for fireworks explosions "BUT NOT AS THICK AS AN AXE, METHINKS" *cue killer guitar solo.
Regardless, I look forward to seeing more and especially to being involved in more.

I'm really enjoying the plot so far, well written and full of detail. Can't wait till Nul joins in on some of the action as well. While I do have a few question mainly about the main characters and what not but I believe those are already being addressed so I'll leave those off the table. Can't wait to see whats in store and maybe help with some crazy and interesting ideas I can pass along! Also I'm a patron now so I fully endorse this site.

Good that all the stuff with Gilda, Bowie, etc... is starting to come together. Though surprised its happening as quickly as it is, originally thought that would be more of a whole other plot thing with Adversary. Now we need to see how the rest of Equestria had faired in the battles.
