Today's a day for nothing, so why am I not enjoying it?
Poor Cosmos was overworked. With Gloria sending her more gadgets than she needed for her research, she had ample opportunities to study the occurances in space, but there was too much at one time, so she told herself that she needed a break, and a stroll around Cloudsdale would do it for her. Or so she thought. She felt more tired whilst doing it. Why it was, she couldn't put a finger on. She had a filling brunch that was quite expensive for her, she went shopping for a bit, she even had a quick bath to make her feel better.
But nothing seemed to help.
She yawned loudly, rubbing her eyes, but it seemed that two young fillies were in her view. One of them she thought she could see do a backflip. She rubbed her eyes once more, thinking that she couldn't believe her eyes. Regardless, she walked slowly towards the duo, sat near them and clapped Mute Mover on for her performance. "Well done, you! Well done!" she cried.

Excited to have another pony interested in spending time with her, Mute was jittery, unable to keep still for too long. She took the pencil in her mouth and began writing on the pad, the writing turning out a little sloppy from her haste.
"I have no idea, but I wouldn't mind just flying around. I haven't been in the city for I don't know how long, so it would be nice to see it again."
Mute passed the paper to Quartz, just as another pony came up to her. She saw the pony mouth "Well done" and wondered what could have been so impressive. Her recent backflips came to mind, and she smiled (she was doing a lot of that today... definitely a plus).
She took the pad and scribbled quickly.
"Thanks, but that's not really my main objective. ;D I'm actually a mime; if you want, I could show you a little bit."
Mute tore off the paper and handed it to the new pony.

(OOC: I'm gonna join too, if you don't mind ^^) Raindance flew through the air shakily, trying to become a better flier. She couldn't dance all the time. So far she had managed to stay in the air without crash landing, but she knew it was almost a matter of time. Her wings shook with exhaustion, and she searched for a place to land.
Raindance spotted a little clearing where she saw three ponies talking, deciding that would be a good spot. She dropped out of the sky, hoping to land smoothly. Unfortunately, a gust of wind blew, knocking Raindance off balance. She tumbled through the air, and landed face-first into the cloud next to the ponies. How embarrassing! Raindance thought as she yanked her head out of the clouds and looked up at the other ponies, blushing. "Sorry! I'm not the best at flying, as you can see." She stood up, shaking, and regained balance after a few moments. She smiled at the other ponies. "Hi I'm Raindance, nice to meet'cha!"

Quartz took the hastily written paper just as another Pegasus pony arrived at the scene. She sat near by applauding for her new acquaintance Mute Mover, which made sense enough. Though this newcomer was a bite late for the end of the mime show. What did she have to clap for? She read over the paper quickly, ready to respond to Mute. Spending some time flying through the city and getting to talk wouldn't be so bad. If they moved on every so often Quartz could most likely avoid running into anypony else.
She didn't get the chance to return her statement for two reasons. The first being that Mute had turned to address this new fan of hers. Fine enough, though Quartz suddenly got the feeling she would be taking second place to this newcomer. And to add to that, having another face around just kept Quartz even more on edge. Extra unnecessary social confrontations were tiresome more often than they were useful. But rather than leave Quartz decided on staying for a bit, as to not upset Mute in her departure and to see if they could eventually make plans for the day.
The second reason though was a bit surprising. As if falling from space itself a blue pegasus came hurtling out from above. The blue shape shot down over Quartz suddenly, causing her to drop to the road in a split second reaction. Ready for some sort of fight, Quartz quickly jumped back to her hooves and spun around to the intruder. She shot her wings open at the sides, taking a slightly offensive stance towards the blue pegasus. But as she began to explain herself, Quartz relaxed. Seemed like she was just inexperienced. If that the case, why in the hay was she flying around then, where she could hurt somepony or herself!
Quartz quickly removed an expression of disgust and annoyance as the blue pony turned to face her and introduced herself. She had at least apologized, that was a start. Quartz Wing nodded in response to Raindance, recomposing her stance to something less hasty.
"Yeah. . . it's nice to meet you too. You can call me Quartz Wing if you'd like." She turned for a moment to look at Mute Mover and the other pony before deciding to address the current situation to Raindance. "You should really be more careful with your flying. You could have easily hurt somepony or yourself like that."

Raindance smiled at Quartz Wing. "Wow, cool name! And it fits you, too. Cool armor!" Raindance wondered why in the world a pony would need so much gear. Did she expect to be attacked by evil people? Actually, now that she thought about it, she did go into a defensive stance when Raindance fell, so many she was. But Rain didn't want to sound rude by asking.
Her wings drooped when Quartz Wing told her to be more careful, and she suddenly became very quiet, "I know," she said in a small voice, "But I want to be a better flier, so I wanted to practice. I'm sorry." Raindance shuffled her hooves, embarrassed. "I'll be more careful next time." oh dear, she had only just arrived and already she had managed to upset someone. "I'm not going to be living in Cloudsdale for much longer, I'm moving to Manehattan for my career, so I won't be a danger to anyone anymore." Raindance perked up, "Well, again, sorry for almost crashing into you guys!"

((Skipping Cosmos, sorry. Gotta keep the thread moving.)) Ponies, ponies, everywhere! It was like a dream come true; there was a small crowd of ponies around her, and they were all interested in HER! She was so happy she could almost squee. It didn't even bother her that the dark blue mare, Raindance, had almost crashed into them; what was that compared to another potential friend added to her admittedly short list? Mute flinched and took a step back as Quartz flared her wings aggressively in response to Raindance's sudden arrival. She could understand the reflexive aspect of it, but... it still bothered her, just a bit. The yellow mare let out the breath she'd been holding when Quartz settled her posture to a passive one. Conflict avoided. Mute read the lips of this dark blue pony as she spoke, a string in her heart feeling a little tug at the mentions of Raindance's struggle. She quickly wrote on her notepad and passed it to Rain. "Hey, it's okay. I won't judge you or anything. I mean, I AM deaf after all.
Anyways, my name's Mute Mover, mime extraordinaire. Or inextraordinaire. Or somewhere in between. Nice to meet you.
PS. I can read your lips, so you can just talk to me normally.

Circuitjack was flying over to Cloudsdale, wanting to relax after a hard day's work fixing all manner of mechanical parts for everypony. She just about arrived at the cloud-city, when her eyes were drawn to the crowd nearby.
"Whoa! Wonder what's got their attention?" She wondered, as the pegasus trotted over to the group, her eyes soon looking at Mute Mover, tiliting her head in order to get some idea.
Soon after, though, she smiled and started clapping, impressed at the pony's talent. "Wow! Well done! You must be very good at this!"
