"Pleasure to meet you, Ace." Percheron smiled, shaking his hoof firmly, "Well, it's a bit of a walk back to the place I want to take you, you up for it, or would you like to take anything before we go?" The Pegasus asked, letting go of Ace's hoof and tapping his hooves impatiently on the grass. It's been a long time since he took such a long walk, should be a delight!
He was pleased at this success, as luck would have it, he did find a kindred spirit, and detested handing him over to Watermark. But he would see, maybe when they got to the headquarters, he could talk Red Charge into letting him have Ace as one of the infantry ponies.
Of course, it depends on how Ace will react to begin with. But he was certain Red Charge could convince him. He had an unbelievable way with words.

Ace's face went blank as he pondered Percheron's question. There wasn't much he could think of to take on this journey, whatever the destination happened to be he was sure that he didn't have the supplies necessary for it on hand anyway. After a couple of moments of silence, he decided that there wasn't a single thing for him to do before leaving either. He briefly considered leaving some sort of note, but was unsure of what exactly to say and so thought better of it. Hah, what would I even write: 'Going on a trip with Percheron Razorwing, don't know when I'll be back?' That's just silly.
"No Percheron, I can't think of anything." He stated with a nod to emphasize finality

"Alright, off we go then. Mind you we'll be walking on and off the roads, and there's rumors that all sorts of creatures are running loose recently. So keep your hooves ready and your eyes keen." Percheron advised, though he knew it was unnecessary.
And with that, he began leading Ace off, hoping he'll get a chance along the way to see what Ace was made of. He couldn't believe his luck that he didn't have to wander into Canterlot, the shallow crowd there did not appeal to him one bit. And here he found a young, spirited new possible recruit. Percheron had a feeling only good would come of this.
Throwing one glance back at the city that was once his home, he walked off, knowing the next time he returned, might not be in peace. He would hate to have to fight his old comrades, but his duties to the realm were clear, and he would follow them to a T.
He spared a look at his Cutie Mark, the Titan's Blade, he earned it through sweat, tears and experience. He always knew he would be the sword of Equestria, always wished to be the one to defend its honor and vanquish its enemies. Too bad it wasn't as simple this time. Too bad.

"Sounds interesting." Ace risked a cocky grin, he wasn't used to fighting anything other than ponies but he knew better than to let something like that cause his confidence to falter. The youth threw a glance back to his home, not knowing when or even if he'd return. He had often fantisized about leaving like this, but now doing so weighed heavily on his heart as he thought of those he was leaving behind. He gave a quick nod as his face became one of focused determination, he'd return to Canterlot one day and when he did he would be be stronger, strong enough to change everything. He turned once again to face Percheon, ready to be led into the unknown.
