A lone pony made her way around the outskirts of the Ever free forest, her identity cloaked beneath the adorned back vale which covered her from head to flank. In fact only the filly's tail could be seen jetting out, even her horn hidden from view, albeit not hidden well. She seemed to be looking for something, her horn glowing through her cloak to aid her in the search. Although she did not seem to be having much luck, not seeming to be picking up a single item, or even reacting like she had found one, Whatever 'one' was.
Grumbling to herself, Meteor sat down on her flanks. Maybe what she had heard about a small collection on Gems in the forest was ill informed? Or perhaps she was just searching in the wrong place....It was hard to tell any more. Rubbing her face on the right fore leg, she allowed herself a moments rest, more to compose herself than for then need to quell a feeling of exhaustion.
Watching above her own head, she observed the trees around her and with a small breeze she quickly found out how late it had gotten while she had been searching. Night time had rolled in and although she did love to watch the night sky, it meant that she had been out there alot longer than originally intentioned. This only aided in making her more frustrated, forcing her to let out another cry of annoyance before hanging her head.
"Oh, maybe I should give up." She frowned.

It was fortunate that Meteor stopped where she was, for just before her eyes a disturbance was made. It took her a second to realize why there was suddenly a large drag crater in front of her, whatever happened was so quick that she had not realized it had, other than the fact she now had a dirt caking to her face beneath her hood.
A white Pegasus in a simple red garb landed before her, electricity coursing through his body before dissipating into the ground. Upon further inspection, a roasted drake would be found within the drag crater, after being defeated by said Pegasus apparently. Who, as it would appear was none other than former captain of the Equestrian Stars, Percheron Razorwing himself.
"Sorry about that." He said, turning to her after making sure the drake was not about to get up again. "Are you alright?"

Although about to give up completely on her search, something made her stay in place, She felt tense, very uneasy all of a sudden although her thoughts where soon confirmed as a creature collided with the earth in front of her, the Unicorn herself sitting just out of range of the crater it created, although not far enough to escape the flying mud that its collision had caused.
Meteor scrunched up her face as the mounds of dirt collided with it so rapidly, trying to rub it away with a foreleg before once again opening her eyes, slightly confused with what had just happened, although not at all impressed with the sudden mud bath. Although she did feel herself flutter slightly, as her eyes collided with those of a handsome Pegasus, although a familiar one, at least after a moment or two of thought.
She was more than a little surprised to see Perch standing before her, she had not seen him since her time in canterlot and even though she had heard what had happened to him back there, the last place she was expecting to run into him would be in Everfree. She was only a young filly when she was in canterlot, at least at first so she did not remember very much about him, although she did at least remember who he was. It would be very Embarrassing to forget such a famous face.
Despite this the Unicorn soon found both her feet and her voice, standing to reach the Colt before her at eye 'ish' level before speaking. Still trying to swipe the mud from her face to no avail.
"Oh im fine, a little messy but fine" she nodded a small smile appearing on her lips. She found a small amount of amusement in this, although she was not entirely sure why.

"Again, I'm sorry, didn't think there'd be any ponies around here." He said, walking over to Draco leisurely, "Percheron Razorwing." He said, handing out a hoof, "And don't worry about that Crow Dragon, it's dead." He reassured her, hoof outstretched still.
Odd that a pony would be out this far, but hey, any pony was better than a monster to keep around in Everfree, he just hoped she wasn't lost, he needed to get that drake body back to the cult as soon as possible.

Meteor was surprised that he had taken the Drake down all by himself, although if what she had heard about him was true, killing a drake was the least of his ability's, especially in fighting. She looked at the creature as he he spoke about it, admittedly impressed by the feat that had ended before her, it must have been one Hay of a battle. If only she'd have seen it.
Slightly taken back by his offer of a hoof, much less a conversation to her, Meteor returned with her own hoof, not wanting to be rude to Percheron. "Im Meteor, Draco meteor" the pony smiled, nodding as she finished, realising there was still more to reply to " Oh i wasn't supposed to stay out here this long, time just got away from me" she added quickly, looking up to the sky once more before returning her gaze to him, her eyes glowing slightly, their bright blue colour shining through wonderfully.
Meteor was not a pony for talking to others, let only holding a conversation with them, today however she found herself enjoying this colt's company. Maybe it was due to how they where both strangers to each other, unable to judge off first impressions or maybe being in the moon light had put her in a good mood, she couldn't be certain, for now at least she could see her day not being a complete waste after all.

"Draco Meteor? Quite the unusual name, if you don't mind me saying, I don't mean to come off rude. I like it, reminds me of the legends of the Celestial Beasts." He gave her a slight bow of the head, "But now, it wouldn't be safe all alone out here at night. There are things much more dangerous than a drake here." He looked over to the drake's body, then back at Draco, he couldn't let her walk home alone, and yet it was a matter of life and death that he brought the drake back to base.
"Was there anything you were looking for?" He finally asked, "Perhaps I could help? If not, I am certain I know someone who could." He added, slowly walking over to the corpse, prodding it with a hoof before attempting to heave it over himself. Quite the task, especially since it was larger. He had planned on dissecting it and taking what he needed, but alas, he could not do so in front of the mare.
He needed a wing and a leg to make prosthetics of, not him personally, but Red Charge, his leader. A pony had arrived after what appears to have been a brutal encounter with a monster, and it would need these new limbs.

"Yes, i get that alot" She chuckled, indeed she did. Meteor was always getting asked about her name, Asked its meaning due to the fact she was neither a dragon nor a pony with any interest in space. She did not know why her mother named her has she did, however she did adore her name very much. It gave her a unique feel about her, knowing no other pony had a name like hers.
Snapping back to reality, Meteor realised he was still speaking to her, even if it was while trying to heave the drake carcass over his back. " Oh, not really. I was following hearsay about a collections of gems around here but from what i can see, it was an ill informed rumour" She frowned, a sigh and the slight sound of both frustration of disappointment peppered in her voice.
Looking at the scene unveiling before her, even Draco could see that carrying the drake would be a struggle for Perch, even for a pony of his strength. A flurry of ideas running trough her mind at once, the mare soon came to a solution, a small smile on her face.
"Would you like some help with that... Carcass There Percheron?" she smiled, her horn glowing slightly to show what she had in mind. Carrying items would not usually be a chore for her magic, this however was quite a heavily thing to carry...Maybe between them they could get it back to wherever he was taking the creature.

Percheron frowned, he could carry that smelly carcass all the way to the swamp, but here he had the chance to know someone unusual, and get a little help, maybe even recruit a new member for the cult. Percheron shrugged, what the hay?
"If you want, we've got a stretch before we get to drop it though, if you don't mind. I'll make sure you get lodgings for the night when we get there though. Thank you for the offer, Draco." He answered, smiling genuinely at the strange mare. "Though, I'd feel better if you could lower your hood, you know, with these bad times and all it's best to know who you're talking to." The stallion reasoned, a reasonable request. After all, the last thing he wanted was to bring an Equestrian spy right into the cult. He'd have to make her talk on the way there, that was certain.

Seeing his slightly offended look at her offer, she took a step back, although still happy to help she did not want Perch to think that she thought low of his ability's, in fact that was the opposite of her opinion of him. She in fact found herself with a great deal of respect for the white pony, especially now she had seen his ability's first hoof.
There where few ponies Draco actually respected, let alone offered to help, usually preferring to keep to herself neither taking nor offering help to anypony, really she didn't know why she had offered. It just kind of slipped out.
Although Slightly shocked by his request for her to remove her hood, due to the fact she had forgotten she was wearing it! Draco rarely took off her dark veil around others but she was sure it wouldn't matter here.
" Oh, Yes of coruse" she nodded, tilting her head back to allow the adorned cloth to gracefully fall from her head, revealing her face once more, although slightly more muddy then she would have liked even after trying her best to remove it. Her eyes still shone through though, already naturally bright compared to her usually darkened face.
She swiftly made her way to stand not to far from perch once more, realising that he had in fact accepted her help she would need to be by the drake to be of any use. Swiftly her horn started to glow, using a simple levitation spell to help perch lift the dead creature that now hovered next to her. It was alot lighter than expected, maybe Perch could have moved it on his own after all...No matter now, she was helping him.

"Thank you," Percheron said with a small bow, he felt extremely relieved, mostly because he could now push the drake's head away from himself and keep the stench of it at a bearable level, if anything about it was bearable, that is. He longed for a hot shower when he got back to the headquarters.
Registering every detail of her face (as he was wont to do, always trying to remember who is a threat and who is an ally) recognition dawned on him, "Hmm, I'm pretty sure I've seen you somewhere before, though I might be wrong. Younger maybe? Who knows." He mumbled, "If I may ask why do you need those gems you look for?"

Draco looked down at her own hooves as they walked, not at all used to talking so much to others, despite this however she did not care for anyone being rude, especially not herself. Admittedly she was more than a little shocked when he mentioned his recognition of her, no pony ever remembered seeing Draco, especially not somepony who could not have seen her more than once or twice in passing. For now however she decided to dismiss the comment, not sure if it was more a rhythm of the colt's own speech or a comment aimed at her.
The remark about her gems however brought a smile to her face once more, as gems where a much loved topic of conversation for this mare, although if not careful she would tend to ramble, which was not something she wanted to do right now as she was unsure as to why he had taken enough interest in her to ask these questions in the first place.
" Oh, well um, Gems are sort of a hobby of mine, mostly due to the fact that they are loved by dragons. Which you see are creatures im currently, um Researching?" Researching was hardly the right word for it but obsessing over did not sound very healthy, thinking for a moment she corrected herself however. trying to change the topic " Well not Researching exactly...W-what about yourself? Why do you need to take this drake back to...Im sorry im not sure you told me where you where taking this?" Meteor was one to analyse everything and think things through, often noticing things most ponies would not, like how after offering to help, she still had no idea what exactly she was helping with!

Percheron never lied, he saw no point to it, the goal for which he had slain this drake was noble enough, and perhaps this would earn him some points with her, and might help her ease into the cult that much more.
"Recently a very badly hurt pony was found in the Bog, so this Drake's limbs are to be remade into prosthetics. Drakes are tough, and these would help make the pony mobile again. I don't know what she tangled with, looks like a salamander of some sort by the markings, but it managed to take off one of her wings and legs." He explained, "This is a win-win situation, one less monster to threaten our fellow Equestrians, and a leg and wing to help this unfortunate Pegasus."

Rather shocked by his reasons, Meteor was taken back once more, merely nodding in reply to his voice before uttering even a sound again.
"What where they doing to even get attacked" she frowned, not really speaking to him, more to the mud they where walking through. She could never understand some ponies and clearly this was going to be one of those confusing tales.
Deciding to stay on topic but avoid the matter of the pony, Meteor turned her attention to the Drake once more before looking up to Perch, rather interested in the idea of using such a fierce creatures body parts was very unique, at least to her.
"So, how do you turn these 'creatures' Limbs into prosthetics? Do you 'carve' them so the limb itself will fit to the pony, or do you just use the skin from the beast itself to make the prosthetics more stable?" She asked, looking the beast over as she did so, never before had she thought of a drake to be to useful, especially to an injured Pegasus. This was a topic that interested Draco very much, although she was sure it would sound like a worrying amount of interest she did not seem to mind. This sounded like a brilliant idea.

"Well Draco, as much as I would love to answer you, I believe the pony who is about to do it should be the one to do so." Percheron answered, "He is one of the most powerful ponies in Equestria, and well versed in knowledge of dragons, if that is what you are researching. I can attest firsthand that he has had his share of encounters with them."
The stallion grinned at Draco, "He now works on a plan to make Equestria a safer, better place to live in. So I am helping him as much as I can. Not every pony would work so hard to save the life and comfort of a strange pony. Especially when the odds are so slim." He stated truthfully. Not a lot of ponies could even if they wanted, but whoever this pony was, if he could gain the loyalty of a pony such as Percheron, who is obviously powerful as well as intelligent, he might be just the person Draco might want to see.
"I'm sure he would also compensate you for your help, once he is done with his work helping that unfortunate Pegasus. So it might be good if you stick around for a while, if it suits you."

The red mare listened intently to the stallion's words, who ever was to be doing something so complex would definitely be pony she would love to speak with, especially as if what Perch was saying was true and the cold had met many a dragon, maybe she could even learn something new about them from him. This would be a brilliant night after all.
What the colt was saying was true, Meteor did not know of many ponies who would go out of their way to help any pony, especially one who's hopes sounded so slim. Who ever this male was, he certainly was a pony with compassion in his heart, a feeling the red pony herself has not been familiar with for quite some time.
She felt herself slightly saddened by these thoughts but swiftly pushed them to the back of her mind, self pity was not an emotion to show around others, especially ones like Percheron.
The thoughts of a warm bed instead filled her mind, a place to stay after all this would be needed that was for certain but she was still unsure on weather she would take it, not being one to accept help from any pony, no matter the situation. Although these thoughts drove the mare to realise something, After spending the entire day in the forest and now carrying a drake, she found her body to be quite tired. Knowing for now though that rest was not an option, she pushed that thought too, to the back of her mind. The time for resting would come later.
" Well I look forward to hearing about both the dragons and the method behind this unique prosthetics style" She smiled, nodding to Perch, trying to both watch him and where she was going as they made their way back to wherever Perch was leading them whilst trying to keep her footing through the ever changing terrain
