((Continued from mlpcelestialdivide.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=everfree&action=display&thread=356 )) Wildfire woke up, her body lashing out in pain. She stifled a scream as the memories of what happened flooded back to her. She had, for lack of a better word, been mauled. She grimaced as she remembered the beast had torn off two of her limbs, and swore under her breath when she remembered her reason for going out there in the first place. She decided not to dwell on those thoughts and began looking around. She was laying on a bed in a small building in an unknown location. She let out a sigh, hoping whoever found her was kind and could help her.

An armored stallion approached upon noticing she was awake. He sat next to her bed, his piercing yellow eyes staring down at her compassionately.
"I'm sorry child, I wish I was there to prevent what happened to you." He said, his eyes showing obvious relief that she awoke, and his voice offering nothing short of the most sincere sympathy. "You washed into the bog, and one of my scouts found you. Fortunately enough they were quick to summon me, and I managed to save you." He explained, "You've been here for days under intensive magical care, but sadly, we had no leg or wing to reattach. I hope the prosthetics won't bother you." He gestured with his snout at her new wing, made of fine leather and coated with brilliant black feathers, in contrast to her green coat, and a new leg made of some other substance she did not recognize.
"Though I can not restore the feeling in them, you can still control them as if they were your own, and with practice, you should be able to perform just as well as you did with your true wing and leg. Sadly, however, your body is scarred. I do not wish to sugar coat this, even now. I can tell you are a strong mare, you deserve to know. At least your face is still beautiful." He complimented, and yet despite doing so, there was nothing suggestive in his words, it was a true, friendly, heartfelt compliment.
"I am Red Charge, I'll leave you to your thoughts for now. When you are ready, come see me, I will be waiting in the hut next to this one." At that he rose, revealing a small table with food and water, and leaving the hut.

Wildfire sat stunned at what the stallion was telling her. She had almost died, and had been saved by a group of ponies living in the bog. They had used magic to heal her wounds and WOAH, what are these? She stared at her new limbs. Hard. If her gaze could set things aflame she would be burning as the prosthetics burned. If anything she was amazed, and terrified. She itched at the stumps of real flesh and, as he said, could move them both, but still felt a tingle of pain and heard herself scream when she looked at them. She shook her head and looked back up at the stallion as he was turning to leave, revealing a table of food. 'Redcharge...seems nice enough.' She pulled herself up and fell on her new leg, stifling a chuckle. Now was not the time for laughter. She righted herself and stepped over to the table and hastily ate the food. 'Wish there was a mirror. I normally don't care how I look, but right now I just want to see how bad the damage is.' She glanced at her new wing and stretched it out at full length, and gave it a test flap. Satisfied that both of the new limbs worked as they were supposed to she stepped outside the hut, stepping into the one next to it.

Inside the hut, she noticed the same red, armored stallion, sitting and sipping some herbal tea, he already had another glass set, and a boiling kettle nearby. He gestured for her to sit with a hoof, and poured some tea for her.
In the corner of a room there was a mirror, and it wasn't pretty. Wild's body was scarred whereve the Salamander had touched it, all except the face, fortunately however, all of the scars were as faded as they could get, probably due to some cosmetic magic on the red stallion's part.
If it weren't for the oddly colored leg and wing, Wildfire might have looked relatively fine, at least her face was undamaged, saved for some minor scratches and bruises from getting slammed against the dirt and riverbed. But those were mostly healed and would not leave scars.

Wildfire slowly stepped over to the stallion, stopping by the mirror as she passed. She let out a light chuckle as she looked herself over. "All things considered....I look like Horseapples." She rasped out, coughing to set her voice straight. She turned back to the red stallion and stepped over, sitting down. "Thank you...for saving me. When that thing held me under, I thought I was done for." She glanced back at her new black wing. "And if I was to survive, I thought I'd never fly again."

"I did my best, I apologize I couldn't do more, but any permanent amendment to your limbs, would have to be with prosthetics, I could have granted you magical ones, but you'd have had to return to me to renew them all the time."
The stallion sat still, surveying Wildfire under a mesmerising yellow stare, and gesturing with his snout at her tea."Once practiced this wing should be just like your own. It is made of drake-skin and feathers, so it's very durable, and the razor edged feathers might give you an advantage in a tussle."

Wildfire took the glass of tea and held it in her forehooves. "You've done more then enough for me. A complete stranger at that. An idiot girl who thought it would be a good idea to fly over the Everfree at night. I'll never be able to repay you for this." She took a sip of her tea, it tasted a little funny, but it was good. "But I will do what I can. My name is Wildfire by the way. Anything you need done that I can handle, i'll gladly do to repay you for this."

"It's quite alright dear, I'm just glad to see you back in the line of health." Red Charge said, and pondered the point for a moment, "Well, we could always use more able ponies, but I wouldn't want to make you do this because you feel you owe to me..." He thought on it some more.
The stallion, whoever he was, seemed very relaxed, as though he was really just basking in the moment. Wildfire felt the warmness of the tea spread through her, as it induced a euphoric like state. It was unlike anything she had ever tasted before, the feeling it gave her was that of sublime joy, something out of this world.
"Dragon Crown tea," Red Charge explained, "Most exquisite."

Wildfire let herself smile as the warmth spread through her, wondering why she had never heard of this tea before. "It's delicious, thank you. Who...who are you anyways? And where are we?"

"I am Red Charge, and this is the Cult of Eclipse. A group of ponies who consider the injustice done to this being an affront to pony values." He said, pouring more tea into her glass. "Long ago, under the rule of King Chronos and Queen Galaxia, the being Eclipse was banished from Equestria, for no other reason than they feared his power." He told, sipping from his own cup.
"We want him to come back safely into Equestria, and that's all. He deserves to walk on the land he once called home."

"I'm going to guess he was banished in a similar fashion to Luna? I've never heard of him." Wildfire admitted as she sipped on her tea. "Nevertheless, I want to repay you in any way I can, so long as this doesn't end up turning rotten. You seem like a good pony, so I doubt you'd try to hurt anyone to bring this Eclipse guy back." Wildfire tapped a forehoof to her chin as she inspected Red, as if evaluating him. "I was never good at reading ponies, but you don't seem like a bad guy. Why are you set up in the swamp?"

Red Charge took a deep breath before sighing, "I'm afraid The Princess Celestia and I share our differences regarding Eclipse's return. She, like her parents fears him, and does not wish to grant him the right all of us are entitled to. She has long since placed a warrant on my head. We have chosen the swamp for it is a secluded location, where the chances of conflict with Equestria are minimal." He looked straight into Wildfire's eyes again, his eyes were amazing, they were like liquid gold, poured into a mould yet never solidifying, Wildfire found herself incapable of looking away from them.
"We are still preparing for it, but we hope it can be avoided altogether. All we want is for Eclipse to return to Equestrian soil, he is ancient and wise, and hopefully, if nothing else, will lead us to end this conflict before it begins." The effect of Red Charge's speech along with the seemingly magical sensation caused by the tea swept over Wildfire like a tidal wave. Red Charge was sincere in wanting to avoid conflict, sincere in wanting to bring back Eclipse. All he wanted was to return the values to Equestria and not allow what he perceived as a great injustice to continue.

"I don't know, I avoid politics like a plague, and you see what happens when I get into a fight." She glanced towards the door of the hut. "Everypony probably thinks i'm dead anyhow. Besides, could you picture me flying into town like this?" She let out a light hearted chuckle. There was something about Red Charge. She felt happy, something giving her current state she shouldn't have been feeling. For some strange reason, she wanted to help him in any way she could, not because he saved her, but because...she didn't know. She wanted to see his plan unfold and succeed without conflict, and wanted to do everything in her body to help. "So...would it be altright if I stayed here for a while?"

Red Charge looked at her sorrowfully, but not with pity, "Of course dear, feel free to use any of our facilities as you wish... and... well, I don't know he hardly boasts of his fame. But if you would like, I could arrange for the famous Percheron Razorwing to come visit you?" Red Charge asked, leaning ever so slightly forward in anticipation for her response. Percheron was, in all honesty a Pegasus legend, and it was extremely rare find very few pegasi who do not know his name.

Wildfire blinked. "...Percheron is here? I remember seeing him in Cloudsdale when I was a filly. Why he would waste time visiting me I guess only you and him know." She shook her head. "If you think it would be a good idea, alright. Thank you Redcharge. For everything." Wildfire did a small bow and stepped out of the hut and back into the one next to it, closing the door gently behind her. As soon as the door was closed it hit her. She had kept herself calm because she didn't like to get all mushy around others, but in her solitude she felt safe. She slammed a hoof into the floor of the hut as she fell into a pile, sobbing. She cursed the lizard, she cursed her idiocity, she cursed her family. She sat up and stopped her train of thought as the mental image of Cloudfall, kicked back and smiling, staring up at the stars went through her head. She bucked the table, sending it smashing into the wall. A little voice told her it wasn't all his fault, that she was letting her emotions drive her again. She quickly silenced that little voice and stepped over to the bed, falling onto it and burying her face into the pillow. It had been ages since she had cried. Now was a good time.
