The other mare had fallen asleep. Willo was alone on the maze... the perfect opportunity to finish; if only she wasn't almost as exhausted herself from that stunt she'd just pulled... she could feel her golem bleeding slowly. Just hold together, you can do it, she silently encouraged, pressing on down the tunnel she had found. She shook her head and focused, doing her best to ignore the growing headache and the sheen of sweat on her flank...
"No... no no no no..." she murmured under her breath concerned as she felt her golem get weaker. She was already pushing her magic as far as it would go, and she couldn't keep up with the leak it had sprung from her trick... "Stay together!" she shouted out, dropping to her flanks to preserve the energy she was using to stand... it wasn't of any use. The little fox slowly slipped away into the aether.
Willowisp sighed and let it happen, knowing she couldn't do anything to stop it. Unlike Magma she didn't really put herself all the way into things; she wouldn't faint trying to keep it together. She hung her head low, panting and recovering her breath. "I couldn't do it..." she said, on the verge of tears.

"Oh of course you couldn't do it, it takes a lot of practice to even get through the maze by yourself, let alone under the pressure of competition." Watermark chuckled heartily, "Poor Magma really worn herself out though." He said, unconcerned though slightly apprehensive. "Her dedication is admirable." He wiped off the soot, mud and sweat off her with a simple wave of water, careful not to wake her up this time.
"If she asks when she wakes up, she won the challenge. I was never checking which one would get further in the first place." The tattooed unicorn smiled, "It was all about how far you'd go up here." He bumped his hoof against his head. "Willow, if you could take Magma back to your quarters to sleep, I would appreciate it."
"As for you Trixie, come, we shall walk the bog a little bit, there is still more for you to learn." He grinned at her. Several water golems went to assist Willow in her task of heaving the unconscious Magma back to their quarters. The maze itself dissipated entirely, returning back to being a murky puddle.
