A Trot in the Woods (Open)

It was quite the pleasant day in Whitetail Wood, a perfect day for a certain artistic pony to be inspired by the nature. Precisely the reason for why Autumn Sketch was happily trotting through the trees on a well-beaten path. She was carrying her art supplies bag with a sketchbook and some artist's pencils. She hummed a pleasant tune while looking around, trying to find the perfect subject to draw or a nice place to sit and let her imagination flow. She happened to spot a squirrel running up a tree.

"Hello there little one, would you mind if I drew you?" She asked with a smile. "But you can't move around too much, I need to make sure I get the look right." The small woodland creature just chattered in response and continued to climb the tree. "Oh... Maybe I should just invest in a camera," she chucked and shook her head, "I think it's the need to stay still that scares them off. That or the squirrel was in a rush." She then turned and continued down the path with a flick of her tail.

Upon going further down the path she happened to spot a rather pretty blue flower. "Oh, I could probably draw this flower! Plus, I won't have to worry about it running away!" She thought aloud. She sat down in front of the flower and pulled her sketchbook and a well-used pencil out of her bag and in front of her. She took the pencil in her mouth and began to sketch.

Cloudy trotted up the trail, humming a little tune to herself. It was such a beautiful day and she knew that the clouds in Whitetail Woods were always so pretty. She was hoping to find a nice spot where she could lay down and look at them, or a nice place to stop and enjoy the nature around her.

Whitetail Woods, like most forests, seemed like a fairytale setting to her, which just added to how she loved it! As she trotted, she constantly looked at the sky, most specifically, the clouds. It made going straight and not running into trees harder, but she didn't mind.

As she rounded a bend, she saw a pony there, drawing a beautiful blue flower. "Um, hello?" She said, waiting to see if the pony would notice her.

Autumn smiled to herself, the line art was turning out quite lovely, though the petals were giving her a bit of a hard time. The overlapping was fine, but the petals curved a certain way in the middle and at the very tip in such a way that it was hard for her to capture on paper. Her ear twitched slightly as she heard a voice. She quickly held her hoof up and waved it in a quick greeting before carefully finishing up drawing another petal, looking quickly between the flower and the paper. She set her pencil down when she finished and looked up at the unicorn.
"Hey there," she said happily, "sorry about the delayed greeting, but art is serious business, ya'know?"

Cloud Dreamer saw the lost-in-her-art pony raise a hoof at her and wave. Ok, she was heard. She took this as a cue that she could slowly approach. By the time she had almost gotten to the pony she looked up and properly greeted her. "Oh no, I completely understand. I hate it so much when I lose consentration." She thought back to a few times when she was trying to perfect an image or sound from her magic and then lost consentration due to a pony, making the spell go away altogether.

"I'm Cloud Dreamer, but I go by Cloudy everywhere but in front of royalty." She then fully approached the pony enough where she was standing next to her.

Autumn nodded. "That's good. Some people just don't seem to get it. I mean sure if I make a mistake I can erase but... Sometimes it doesn't erase all the way." She said, giving some of the poor defenseless art supplies that have become scattered about her a nasty glare. Oh, curse the pencil for drawing to deep and the eraser for not erasing well, curse them all!
"I'm Autumn Sketch, but feel free to call me Autumn!" She introduced herself. "Pleased to meet you, Cloudy."

Cloudy laughed. This pony was telling things from an artist's perspective, and so obviously was herself. "My art's different. I can change or move anything until it's right, no mistakes left, but can only do it while consentrating." She remembered how lots of times ponies didn't understand what she was saying, so she added, "My art is my magic."

The pony introduced herself to Cloudy, to which she replied, "Hi Autumn." Glancing at the pony's sketch she said, "That's a really nice and pretty accurate drawing of that flower." Cloudy smiled.

This was one of Snicker Doodle's least favorite parts of her job. Collecting the sap of the rubber trees in Whitetail Wood was a messy job. It's not that she minded getting dirty, but it just took soooo long to get it all off after. Looking on the bright-side, it gave her a good excuse to give the spa in town a visit, maybe meet some new ponies there. There was a silver lining to every gloomy cloud in this pegasus' sky.

Snicker, with a renewed smile on her face, picked up speed, but once again ground to a halt when she spotted the two other ponies chatting just a little ways in front of her.

~How exciting! New ponies!~Snicker thought.

So excited she couldn't help but start to fly, The peach pegasus zipped right up to ponies. In fact, she appeared so suddenly that unicorn backed into the earth pony making her drop her pencils.

Hello! I hope I'm not intruding! You two just looked so friendly that I couldn't help myself. She stopped suddenly noticing the mess she had caused.
Oh, I'm so sorry to have startled you. Are you drawing something there? That's pretty good. It looks like you're some kind of Moneigh! Get it?

The two other ponies stood there mouths gaping at this sudden intrusion.

Unembarrassed and stifling a giggle, Snicker continued, Well, it's a pleasure. I'm Snicker Doodle and you may call me Snicker.

As Cloudy looked at the drawing of the flower suddenly a pegasus flew right up to her! In the second her brain had the time to process that, she jumped back, knocking straight into Autumn! She was so surprised and scared it took her a full 15 seconds to recompose herself, at which point she stood up.

"Now Snicker, hasn't anyone ever told you it isn't nice to scare other ponies?" She turned around and used her levitation to get Autumn back to her feet and to grab the pencil, giving it back to Autumn Sketch. "I'm very sorry Autumn." She apolojized.

She turned back to Snicker, not feeling so friendly. She didn't like these types of ponies much, goofing off, crazy, for some ponies it worked but not for others.

Seeing the disapproving look on the blue unicorn's face, Snicker touched down gently and wiped the silly grin off her face.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to scare anypony. I just sometimes get a little carried away when meeting new ponies. Please excuse me." Snicker dipped her head for a moment, but then in the next second brightened.

"Let me help you clean up." she said hoping for the opportunity to mend a bad first impression.

Cloudy smiled. At least this pony seemed less crazy than she thought. "It's alright. Believe me, I've met crazier ponies." She laughed. Then she realized the usually frame on her vision was gone, her glasses frames had fallen off. "Oh sparkles, it seems my glasses fell off." She looked around. Sure, she had no need for them, but they made her look smarter.

"Oooh I'll help you find them. Together we can find your frame and fortune." Snicker once again let out a stream of giggles.
"I'm so sorry. I can't help but see jokes everywhere. I know they're bad, but they make me giggle!"

Snicker spotted the unicorn's glasses on the ground and swept them up with her wing offering them back to her.

"Hmm. You don't have lenses in yours. Me, I'm as blind as a bat without my glasses," she stated as the pony arranged her glasses on her face. "But before I think of any bad vision puns, you haven't told me your names yet!"

((I have very limited internet usage (ie: at my mom's for the most part) and may not get on for a couple days, sorry. It usually isn't more than 2 or 3 days though.))

Autumn smiled. "Wow, that's pretty cool!" She said in response to learning of Cloudy's art. "I don't think I ever heard of any kind of art like that..." She began to ponder what it she would do if she had those abilities, but her pondering was cut short by being bumped into by a startled unicorn. She dropped her pencils out of shock, but no real damage besides a broken tip or two was done. "It's alright, it was an accident." Autumn said. She then turned to the pegasus. "I'm Autumn Sketch." She introduced herself. "I don't need help, I didn't drop much. But thanks for asking." She also helped with looking for the dropped glasses.

As Cloudy was handed her glasses she noticed they had collected a thin layer of dirt and even a feather from the pegasus's wing. She frowned dissaprovingly, and blew the feather off towards Snicker Doodle whom she was currently facing, the feather landing on the ponies muzzle, on top of her nose. "Oh, sorry." Cloudy said, brushing off the dirt with her hoof before replacing them on her face.

"I'm Cloud Dreamer, but please, call me Cloudy. And my glasses are just frames, kinda just for fashion." She replied.

"Well, I'm happy to meet... ahh ahh AHCHOO!" Snicker sneezed so hard she flew back into the air because of the feather tickling her nose. She crashed into a tree behind her and dropped the buckets she had been carrying full of the sap of the rubber tree she had spent all morning collecting.

"Oh, horse feathers!" She exclaimed as she surveyed the scene below her. "I really need that so I can make more gags for my shop." She drifted back to the ground and glowered rather uncharacteristically at the mess. "Guess I'll have to get some more. Do you ponies want to come along? Unless you're too busy? I hate collecting sap, but it would be way more enjoyable with some company!"
