Sky was happy that he was able to land a blow on the mercenary pony. He quickly forced himself to focus again on this task rather than getting too cocky. He knew he had to keep moving with her, standing still was not an option. He flew right next to her as if he was racing with the pegasus and quickly lunged striking her side.

Harrier spread out her wings and suddenly dropped back as the other pony lined up with her to strike, then snapped them shut and went into a dive, ramming into the other pegasus hard and latching onto his back. "Gotta be more careful," she whispered into his ears and used his back as a jumping off point, swinging around towards the pegasus' stomach.

Sky Rocket was taken completely off guard by her move, having the wind knocked out him by the first strike. He felt a sense of anger boiling up inside of him when Harrier whispered into his ears. Before she she could attack again after jumping off his back, he quickly pulled a barrel rool to the right and then quickly looped in the air before landing directly on her back with all four hooves. With his speed and the weight of his body, he hoped that would be enough to knock her off balance.

Harrier saw where he was going, knew she wouldn't be able to dodge in time properly and did the only thing that made sense to her in the process... she snapped her wings shut and started to fall. With any luck he wouldn't be able to stay on as she tumbled through the air... she smirked a little, tumbling.

What Harrier did not realize was although Sky lacked speed, he made it up in agility. He quickly followed the mercenary as she tumbled through the air. Then at a key moment he rammed into her, causing her to land hard on a cloud platform. It would be luck is she was able to escape that considering her wings were completely folded up.

Ponyfeathers. Guess trainin's over, Harrier thought to herself; this was no longer the kind of situation she could handle lightly; the other pony had just made it dangerous for her. She quickly snapped open one wing to catch her and rolled, getting to her feet quickly before letting the other pony have it. What was that foal thinking?!!
"Yeh idiot! Do you know what coulda happened just now?!!" she shouted angrily. It wasn't him slamming her, it was the fact that he had actively been making sure to crash her into her platforms. The point of practicing aerial combat was not to deal with the grounds, and if Harrier had been less experienced she probably would've broken a wing. "This game of ours is my livelihood, ye foal!" she shouted again, "I was practicin' sky combat; these platforms don't exist because there's no applebuckin' platforms in the sky!! Not to mention you tried to knock me directly into one; not just towards the ground but into the horse-eatin' side of the thing! If it was anyone but me I might be dead!! Did ye even think about that?"

"Hey," Sky said hearing the angry reply of Harrier, "Don't you ever call me a foal! I chose to knock you onto the platform rather that possibly hitting you and causing you to fall to your death. I was protecting you and your livelihood, ever think about that? No you didn't. You just chose to lash back at me rather than considering the fact that maybe I had your best interests at heart." Sky felt his anger seething up inside, making his blood boil. "You know what? Forget it." With that he flew to a lower platform and sat, trying to cool off his anger.

"Wha... Ye think I didn't know what I was doing? Did ye really think that ye would've landed more than a glancing blow with the way I'm falling?!" Harrier said, astounded. She had known he'd be kind of cocky, but... "I've been a professional since before ye were born, boy," she said, shaking her head; her anger dissipating. "I've seen things ye wouldn't believe.. Corsairs on fire off the shores of the oceans. I've watched foxfire glitter in the dark near Froggy Bottom Bog..." She shook her head, doing her best to dispell the memories. "Fer a Pegasus," she said slowly, trying to get him to understand without offending him, "Fallin's only a danger if yer crippled or unconscious. Especially at this height. Landin's the bigger problem. And ye just forced me to land before I had time to get ready fer it."

Sky Rocket was still sulking a bit as Harrier tried to explain. The memories of the time when he was a foal and afraid to fly came back to him. That memory then seemed to disolve his anger and made him realize something. "I'm sorry that I knocked you onto the platform and getting angry at you," Sky said as he floated to meet her, "You see, as a foal I was afraid to fly. Actually, flying wasn't the problem, but falling was. When I saw you tumble like that, I was worried that you were falling, and my memory and fear came back. That's why I did what I did."

Dear Celestia, Harrier thought, sighing pensively. She really didn't like trying to comfort other ponies; she didn't ever really know what to say. It was funny really, considering how well she could piece together a song but how poorly she could turn a phrase in normal conversation. "Boy, sometimes fallin' is the best choice ye can make. Yer movin' too fast t'get a bead on, and if ye choose to do it ye can control how and where ye fall. Not t'mention it's hard to latch onto a pony when she's tumblin' in the air." She shook her head; that wasn't really too helpful. "Sometimes ye gotta trust a mare." She patted the other pony's back and then flew over to the entrance. "Guess the spar's over; ye can give yer equipment back if ye want."

Sky was a little confused about Harrier telling him that falling was a good tactic. Yet he was happy that at least the miscommunication between the two was fixed. "Well, it was a great practice with you," Sky said as he removed the sparing armor, "perhaps we will meet again someday."

"Perhaps," Harrier said, slinging the spare armor over her back and heading towards the exit. Never know where the winds'll take ye..." She sighed. It really was time she moved on, as much as she loved the time she spent in the bar. She had been waiting here for the longest time, and had advertised in the bar when she learned that the old salt kept in touch with her old flame.. but no luck, and she didn't get enough business. Her bits were running low. "Guess I'll go see Equestria," she said, going to find her saddlebags.
