Thank goodness Glide had taken the time to learn lip reading. She understood Nul was trying to be there for her, a very comforting notion. It was always good to have someone be there to support you in though times like these, and Glide had lost sight of that for a moment. These two were here to comfort her and she needed to reach out to both of them for support. As well as support them. She cast her eyes to Draft for a moment and gave a concerned smile. She saw him look to her and nodded softly to him, trying to take a deep breath. She saw the pain he felt as he wore it plainly on his sleeves. His silence, darting eyes and the way he carefully folded the paper. Glide had seen many a grieving pony, especially during the war. He was no different then the other hard set solider types who didn't much care to show emotion.
Back to the matter at hoof however, Glide looked back at the paper in her hooves and frowned. Nul was right, her family deserved this, she needed to be strong for them. As her thoughts raced through her mind on just what she was going to say. The music began to play and the solid white pony, dressed in all black effortlessly played a soft, dreary song on the organ. Another male pony at the front of the room stood at a podium and cleared his throat. "The family would like to thank you all for attending this evening." the ponies deep, monotone voice rang through the hall as he spoke of Lens and their son Frost. Their life and so on. Until finally it came time for Glide to say a few words. The male pony stood aside and Glide rose from her chair, straightening her military blues before approaching the podium.
She cleared her throat and sighed gently before opening her mouth to speak. "My son was new to this world, loved life for every moment he had. He loved his family and he loved to play. He loved to follow his Dad to work and pretend to help him take pictures." She couldn't help but give a soft smile to her sons memory. "Lens was much the same towards life, loved every moment of it and loved what he did. He would always say a picture was worth a thousand words... My words may not be worth a picture in this situation, it's all I can give. They were taken too soon for a cause to harsh. Nobody deserved to loose family during this war, yet unfortunately that is the price of our peace. I'm sure many of you have paid a high price like they have... Like I have... to ensure the safety of others." Glide moved over and placed her hoof gently on each closed casket. She shut her eyes tight trying to fight the tears welling in her eyes. "They loved each moment of life until they died and I suggest we all do the same. Enjoy our family, keep them close. Have fun with every moment and let us not be depressed by these harsh times. Things will improve now and in honor of all those gone to soon.. we must live on in their stead. Making Equestria a better place." Glide closed her mouth and carefully returned to her seat. She closed her eyes and tuned out the chatter of the male pony who once again took the podium.

He watched her as she approached the podium and spoke his full attention on her wanting to hear what she had to say. He had not attended funerals much since he had started to help others and for good reason. But he was glad he came to this one to help his friend. He watched her talk passionately and with a fire, but the sadness in her eyes were too clear. He looked over at Draft, he was glad he had showed up as well, she would need any friends to see her through this. He looked back at her as she finished her speech and stepped away from the podium.
Nodding as she sat down he put his hoof on her shoulder and gave it a comforting rub, he smiled for what he felt like the hundredth time. But what else could he do, he was a mute in a world were communication was key. He just hoped his gestures were enough to provide a point he was trying to get across.
