Gilda absently ignored the note from Nul, leaving him to watch, as she was currently preoccupied as she tussled up the room. Quietly, yet quickly, as if she had done this many times before, she pulled down the gauzy drapes to the balcony door and laid them out from the balcony to the bed – while clutched in a talon was a pillowcase, laden down with some loot. She went from shelf to dresser as she pilfered little items: silver plate, copper mirror, music box, etc… and stuffed them away safely in her makeshift rucksack. Only after a minute or so, and felt satisfied with what the room had to offer, she glanced over the note.
She looked to Nul, and then to the door, then signaled they were departing from the balcony. With her loot in talon, she waited for Nul to join her, and then produced a flint striker from a small pouch, which hung from her armor. ”Got the medallions. Got the loot. Then let’s burn this baby down.” She remarked as she sparked the flint, which ignited the wispy curtains. The fire slowly begun to trail inside the bedroom, like a fuse to dynamite. She tied the pillowcase around her neck, then without warning, she snagged Nul by the withers and kicked off the balcony. In an instant they were quite a few meters in the air and leaving the property. Once they were above crossbolt range, Gilda turned back to watch her talonwork play out.
As the room engulfed in flames, plumes of flame and smoke billowed out from the open balcony. She hooted, ”Eat it, dweebs! That’s what you get when you mess with Gilda!” With her free talon she shot the mansion an obscene gesture.
What Gilda may, or may not have known, was that unlike Canterlot, Cloudsdale and Ponyville, which used either magic or fireflies for light, Manehatten, as well as the other larger pony cities, used gas to provide heating and light in their more wealthier districts – not unlike griffons. So, as the two departed towards, what Nul may likely assume to be Rainlock’s estate, a large explosion erupted from behind, followed by a wave of intense heat and turbulence – though Gilda barely faltered as it washed over them.
”Word of advice, Nul. Never piss me off.” She stated as they begun to descend. In a few moments they were back on the ground, some distance away from the now smoldering wreck of an estate they had just torched.
”Here we are, I can take it from here, pony.” She said as she untied her pillowcase of loot, rummage through it and then toss Nul a polished copper mirror and silver candlestick. ”Payment for treating a lady to a not half bad night. But it ends here. I got to forward this stuff to Lady Rainlock while our ‘friend’ is busy dealing with a nasty case of blown up house!” She hooted as she flashed a clenched, raised talon towards the glow of fire in the distance. ”Also Rainlock doesn’t trust mercs, no hard feelings.”

As she went to work he was looking around the books and he turned seeing what she was planning "Ohhhh what have I done" he thought with an eye twitch as he began to search the bookcase next to the door faster as he pulled out a few books when his eye caught another however in a small glass case in the center of the room he approached it and stared at the book inside. It looked old but in good condition but it also did not have a title. He looked at Gilda and picked the book up and sat the four books in his bag.
As he put the book in the bag he felt himself being lifted up and carried outside as he looked back and saw the fire already being spread and she shouted down to the poor ponies that were going to be burned inside the mansion. As Gilda turned and flew away Nul could hear a loud explosion as he looked back and saw the mansion had just blown up then he remembered. Manehatten unlike other towns used gas and not magic or fireflies as he watched the house burn. Gilda spoke and nodded "Right mental note taken. DO NOT MESS WITH A SOCIOPATHIC GRIFFON!"
As they landed and she untied the case he caught the two pilfered items with his magic. He slipped them in his bag as he listened to her and produced a note "No hard feelings. Not many larger details like mercs and deal with them only when they have to." he remembered running into a few groups who gave him the cold shoulder. Producing a note he began to walk away "Take care of yourself Griffon. I doubt this world wants you dead."

"Yeah, yeah, been hearing a lot of that stuff lately." Gilda muttered under her breath as she tossed the note aside. "If we cross paths again, I hope I won't have to kill you." She retorted, before she turned to the mansion, loot and evidence in tow. "Ugh, speaking of that, need to see what the other three lame-os are up too - but after pawn this loot."
