The sudden change in emotional states was surreal. It felt like only minutes ago that he had been in a state of semi-awe, witnessing WATCH neutralize a Diamond Dog general as if he was a pup. They had turned a walking wall of destruction, one that Draft and the Rainlocks with him were surely outmatched against, into a pathetic, hanging piece of blood-drained meat. It was amazing what the new Rainlock weaponry they used was capable of, and incredibly satisfying to see his shield design in action.
Now though, he stood in the cell holding the Diamond Dog general Tremor, unsure how he felt. Here was this dog, leading his forces on a mission to slaughter every innocent pony they could. Mares, foals; Lens Flare and Frost Zone; dead. And it was hard not to argue that this thing chained to the wall was most responsible. Draft had no idea what, if anything, the dog knew that was valuable; or how he might get it out of him. But clearly Lady Rainlock didn't think it was anything too important, or else a more qualified interrogator would be here instead. So that was reassuring.
Right now Draft had no idea how things were going to turn. It probably would end up having a lot to do with how much a pain in the tail this mutt was going to be. Maybe. He didn't think it would be productive to go full tilt right off the bat. But then again, he didn't needs much of an excuse to take some stress out on this dog.
"You got anything to say that might interest me? I would almost rather this go over quick and easy." Draft wasn't even sure if that was true, but he wasn't going to punish the mutt in the unlikely event it gave him something he wanted.

The Diamond Dog general looked at Draft defiantly, tied as he was he was no threat, especially with the amount of blood he lost. He knew he was going to be bled regularly now, contained. Yet his maw stretched into a wolfish smile.
"You realize it doesn't matter, don't you?" He asked the pegasus.
"I survived my bloodbath." He said vaguely. "All that blood, it was glorious."

Draft looked at the enemy general silently, trying to hide his confusion behind a blank expression. Of all thing things the dog could say, this was from anything Draft had been expecting. The corporal tried to piece together what exactly any of what the dog said meant, and if it fit into anything at all.
"You did this whole invasion not to take Manehattan? This whole thing was just about killing ponies? You're either lying or one heck of a bad general." Or crazy. Draft had a suspicion that there was some ideological, blood bearer-related thing going on here.

"It's not about taking a side. It's about the blood, pony, diamond dog, griffon, blood's blood. My role didn't matter, so long as I fought. Could have been a general, or a grunt... doesn't matter." He managed a weak chuckle, "And I lived. That means I won." Was this part of his being a disciple of Nat'hair? Or however the Lady called him?
"You ponies don't kill your prisoners, so at one point or another, I will go free. Go home." He continued grinning. "I lived." He repeated. He was reveling in some personal victory while his army was routed, while his victims were mourning. Whatever sick thing these disciples believed in, he accomplished what he wanted out of the Manehattan battle.

This definitely seemed like a blood-bearer thing. This dog was playing for his own side, out for bloodshed in the name of this psychotic Nat'hair ideology he followed. But at least this didn't seem like a martyrdom. The general seemed pretty intent on making it out of this still breathing.
"First time for everything," Draft spoke. "And I'm fairly new to this interrogation thing. Might get a little too excited and go overboard." The pegasus glanced at Tremor's left arm; then his right. Then his right leg, and then his left leg. "Which limb is your favorite?"

"Pick your own, they'll grow back." The dog said defiantly. "You can act tough, you can smack me around to your heart's content, but you won't kill me. You just don't have it in you." The dog taunted, "So have your fun, but I will go free, maybe even get baished back to the Barrens. Who knows?"
He was content to stare at Draft from that point, the grin still hasn't left his face. Maybe the dog was masochistic? Maybe he was baiting Draft. Not that it mattered, did it? Suffering is suffering, after all.

"So you're a starfish now?" Draft said in response to the quip about limbs growing back. He was somewhat tempted to just punch the dog in the jaw to get rid of that grin, but he also didn't want to impair the captive's speaking ability. "Might as well start with the arms."
Draft took a good several seconds looking back and forth between Tremor's two upper appendages before finally seeming to make up his mind. He then delivered a swift blow to the dog's lower left kneecap.

"Pony intelligence, drain the captive of blood then try to hurt him. If you're all so intelligent I might be out of here sooner than I thought." The dog taunted, if it hurt him, he was doing a good job of hiding it. "I'm a hardened warrior, I've taken enough arrows to the knee to whether your pathetic flails."

"Fair enough." It had been worth a shot at least. It it didn't hurt to find out where Draft might now want to deal his blows.
"Your eyes going to grow back to?" Without even waiting for a response, Draft dealt another solid blow, this time to the dog's right eye socket, aiming to concentrate his force on the brow itself.

"Oh, the Wife Beater." Tremor said, now laughing. "See? Your heart isn't into it, if that's the most creative you can get." He said, then his smile faded and he said, completely seriously, "You know nothing about torture." He was deliberately not saying much, defiantly taunting the pegasus. Pushing his buttons, trying to see how far he'd go. A black eye, a broken bone... these were nothing to him. But a pony driven to the edge, now that was worth all the pain in the world.

Draft let out a peeved snort, giving Tremor a once over before turning his back on the general to leave the room. "Don't go anywhere."
A short while later Draft returned with a toolbelt, filled with a standard set of hardware tools. Hammer, screwdriver, wrench, pliers, scissors, drill. He also brought with him some nails, a saw, and a 2 by 4, setting all of the contents with him onto a nearby table.
Had he been building a birdhouse, he would have been just about set.
"Okay," he spoke, picking up the screwdriver and approaching Tremor. "Let's try this again." The pegasus jabbed the metal end of the tool into the dog's swollen right eye, looking to cause some permanent eye damage.

The dog did give out a long, pained grunt of pain. "Don't go too deep, might get to the brain!" He snarled, "Would be the shortest..." He paused for a grunt and a squirm, "Interrogation in the ... arugh, history of the world."

"Of course not," Draft said flatly, pulling the screwdriver out with a twist. "Wouldn't think of it."
The pony tossed the screwdriver onto the table, looking back at Tremor. "You seem pretty confident that you're going to waltz out of here. Why? If we don't kill you, don't see why we wouldn't just keep you in a dark hole in the ground 'till your body gives out."

"Because you have laws." The dog said, ocular fluid and blood leaking on his cheek, "Laws and rules and moral codes. You're not the police, you will have to turn me over to the police when this war is over. I will be sentenced. When my sentence is done, I will be free, simple as that." His damaged eye winked constantly as an involuntary reaction. "Get it yet?"

"Unless we get rid of you before that," Draft spoke. "Hand you back over to your boss maybe? He's bound to be pretty ticked at you."
Draft smirked, beginning to think he might be onto something. "Failing to take the city. Getting your own troops wiped out pretty much on purpose, so you could fill your blood bucket or whatever. Yeah, sounds like your in some deep filth if he gets his claws on you."
