Retort's rather verbose theory and Red's unerringly simple reassurance did little to tame Selenia's mind about the whole situation. She had been killed and resurrected by powers beyond her control, so it would take a lot of nights, laying awake in bed, staring blankly at the ceiling for her to come to terms with that. Like moth others, she believed that nearly dying, or pretty much fully dying in her case, really put things into perspective. Unlike most others, she was granted a second chance, and she had Red to thank for that, first and foremost. Sooner or later, probably sooner, she would hunt down Silverlake and the one pony who ran for her down at the tower to thank them, too. Life was a great thing to have, and it's never too early to start appreciating what you have and why you have it.
Either way, Red was right. She could't let something so trivial as death get in her way. She had to learn from her mistake on the battlefield, and now she fully understood the consequences, as grave as they were. Some griffons hooting and hollering in the background caught her ears, and she looked up to Red in time for him to announce his departure. Selenia hid a small smile when he said he'd be back later. Looked like she didn't need to haul herself out of bed and away from the nice nurses as soon as she had feared after all. "Yeah, yeah, don't worry about me too much. I don't doubt you're needed urgently in however many places," She idly waved her hoof, indicating he was good to go, not like he needed her permission anyway, "Thanks for stopping by to say hi, by the way I- appreciate it." She finished definitively with a contented look.

”Cherish this time, Selenia. Very few get such an opportunity.” So explained the fezzed blue equine in gender flux as they had watched Red Charge leave the bed-side for the commotion of the cat-birds beyond. Retort, however, stayed close by with more to say on the matter. ”Though, I'm still not so sure about Red Charge's assessment of your condition, but if they say you're cleared to move about the populace, I cannot argue.”She - or he, still rather hard to tell now, said with a polite bow, ”All in all, I am just glad you are safe. And please, if there is anything you need, you know where to... find... actually, my shop is likely a smoldering, foam filled crater about now. No matter, I'll be around the palace for now. Understand that you are what I'd consider a friend and I don't let friends suffer, even if counter to scientific advancement. I mean, there were a few cases, but those were special – not that you aren't special, but these were extra special circumstances.” Said the eccentric alchemist, ”And they didn't turn out so well... What I'm saying is if you need anything, let me know.” Ending with an awkward pause, ”So, with this new lease on life, where are you off to next!? A relaxing tropical vacation or perhaps that 'land place of amuse and merriment', the ones foals are always on about... ” Speaking the word 'foal' induced a shudder from Retort.

Selenia's faint smile grew as Retort went on. Friends. She liked having those, especially ones as sincere as Retort. As soon as she finished, Selenia keeled forward and lightly rested a hoof on Retort's shoulder. "Don't you worry Retort, I trust Red, if he says everything's good, then everything should be good." She gently patted Retort on the shoulder. "If I need anything, I'll be sure to ask you, and don't hesitate to ask me if you need anything, I'm more than happy to just get the chance to talk freely, Luna knows I need it. I'm not entirely sure where I'll be once I get out of this hospital, but asking around should be enough, I do kind of stand out in a crowd." She patted Retort once more before settling back in the bed. "Red said he'd be back after taking care of some royal stuff, so until then, I guess I'll be here waiting for him."
