When they reached Hoofington they found themselves with a heroes' welcome, ponies from both the militia and the Red Mages came to pat them on the back and admire the golems that were already going over to lift large amounts of freshly sent stone from the quarries and timber to begin building the citadel. Many ponies crowded around Watermark and the two wanting to hear all about the Golem Maker and his dungeon, but Watermark swiftly ordered them away, saying they needed rest.
Phalanx' old militia buddies were also there, mostly congratulating Hoplite, too ashamed of their prior behavior towards her to make eye contact. Whitefire was also around, though, reading the situation she avoided crowding the ponies and decided leaving them alone would be the better option.

This...this was a bit much. Not long after setting hoof inside the shield, they were met with a rather zealous welcome from not only the Red Mages, but most of the militia ponies as well. Sure, sone seemed to shy away from Phalanx, but all things considered that was probably a good idea.
"That was a rather stark difference huh, Fal?" Hoplite commented as they eventually broke away from the 'welcoming committee.'
"No kiddin'. But hey, give 'em credit, we had been gone over a day before coming back with essentially an army of golems. Stuff like that could be inspiring," Phalanx replied in a tone that reminded Hoplite that his sister hadn't fully recovered yet.
Still they kept close to Watermark, grateful that he had dismissed the inquisitive ponies. As great as a welcome like that might be, the zebracorn was right: they needed rest. More accurately, they needed a break after the whole ordeal.
