Aeolus looked around, it was barely afternoon. They still had plenty of time until evening, however they still had a whole day before they had to be in Stone Valley. That left them with two options. "Well we could either head out to Stone Valley and camp out for the night, or go rent a room in a hotel and umm, just hang out for a while I guess? Maybe find us a curvy griffonness like I said earlier. He joked with a laugh.
"I bet you wanna just take that money and go to a spa or something don't you," He said as they entered one of the middle class neighborhoods, "Well you can't. No spas. We'll check into a decent hotel and rest your pretty little feathers finally and hope we're not actually being set up for an ambush that would get us killed. Just my opinion buddy, but I think you look way better now, if you took care of yourself, might even make military with a look like that. Could recommend you for 4th Fleet."

"Sleeping in a bed tonight sounds nice, especially after that routine you put me through today," Hawthorne said. "And after last night, I think I'm justified in being wary of any curvy griffons I find in hotels." The griffon gave a shrug. He was honestly somewhat indifferent on the matter, but he wasn't going to be making an effort to go out and find someone.
Hawthorne thought pensively about what Aeolus said about him looking better, and about a recommendation for the 4th fleet. "All about appearances, huh?" he said neutrally. "I've really never considered a military career. And even if I did, I've always thought I would of needed to start earlier."
His thoughts began to drift towards his old appearance, his old lifestyle, one he had been forced to abandon just that morning. One he might not get to return to. "My students will be returning to class tomorrow," he said. "No one knows I'm not going to be there. No one really has a clue what's happened to me, and I doubt they'll find out."

"Ah stop whining. You know how many griffons would love to have such excitement in their life? Once this is all over, you can go back to being dull and boring and do whatever you do as a professor. Say you got lost on that trip of yours maybe. Besides, your house got demo'd I'm pretty sure they'll agree to give you a couple of days off. Is school even going with that recent attack?"
He said, as they once again approached a place Hawthorne knew, although on the other side of Royal Rocks from his house. They eventually found an affordable hotel, got a nice room for two and settled down, having no belongings to bring.

Hawthorne frowned at Aeolus's comment, both because of it's demeaning nature and because there was some truth to it. And as for whether or not classes had been cancelled due to the attack... Hawthorne had no idea. He had been gone for the last few days and he had never gotten the chance to find out, what with almost being killed and all.
He was at least somewhat glad to be back on a nice side of town, and the two had soon found a hotel to spend the night in. "So tomorrow is Stone Valley. I assume your plan is to find out what Tempest wants to do exactly, though I don't know what else you have beyond that." The griffon pulled the sun goggles off of his forehead, setting them down on the side table next to his bed. "And how long is that... thing you're using going to last?" he asked, referring to Aeolus's new appearance. "I'd hate to see you change back in the middle of our appointment tomorrow."

"Two days, that is another day past the meeting. Gotta tell you it sure doesn't give out a good feeling." Aeolus admitted. "But hey, you did good out there. Making me proud." He said nudging Hawthorne on the shoulder, "Earned your rest." He stilled down finally on his bed, "As for the plan tomorrow, none really. Hopefully we can get close enough to Tempest so that we can find out where their HQ is, then I can present the findings to my superior, organize a raid or something. Hopefully it all goes well. Never took on an Air Marshal before."
The soldier griffon sighed, "Eh no hard feelings about the rough stuff, eh? What's necessary is legal, right?"

"It's fine," Hawthorne answered. "But it would be nice if you gave a warning before grinding someone's face into the ground, breaking their glasses, which was wholly unnecessary by the way."
The griffon climbed into his own bed, laying his head down on the pillow and listening to the dull, rhythmic thudding of his aching muscles. "And let's hope you can find out what you need to. The sooner you have her incarcerated the better."
